The best thing I like about Castle Senior Living at Forest Hills is that their nurse-to-patients ratio is good. They also have a specialty with Alzheimer's, and that program brings their own nurses as well, too. So it feels like all the people there have one-on-one attention, and they're never left alone. The staff was really good. They're very attentive. The second those doors were opened, the receptionist was right there to talk to you about where you wanted to go and what you wanted to do. It's a very old building because it used to be a hotel, but right now, they got a grant, so now they're fixing a bunch of things. It may look a little messy right now, but it's because they're fixing all of the things that they had issues with before. Before they used to have carpeted floors and now, they have wooden floors for more sanitary reasons. So I think they're getting better. The layouts of the rooms are good. When it's partners, they allow them to fix the rooms how they would like it. If it's like roommates, they allow them to bring whatever they want into the room, so it feels more homey. So that's a nice aspect to it. Some piece of a picture can be brought there to help them jog their memory, so it's also nice to add a personal touch.

I visited Castle Senior Living at Forest Hills. I like the way they have the room set up, it was very nice, and the staff and all the services that they provide for the seniors. They have their movie nights. If they want to shop or don't want the food that they have that day, people who can go out on their own are the only ones qualified to go to the store and back. The facility was nice and very clean.

I visited Castle Senior Living at Forest Hills to see their assisted living for my dad. It was alright, I just didn't like the location because it's a little bit out of the way. They were renovating some rooms so some of them looked good and some looked shabby. I didn't feel comfortable there because it's an old building and I didn't like that. I didn't meet any staff, only the coordinator who gave me the tour. He was courteous and even recommended some other options for me.

My tour of Castle Senior Living at Forest Hills went well. The staff seemed pretty friendly. Right now, it is being renovated. When the renovations are completed I think it will be a really great place for senior living. So it was fine with me. The first floor was beautiful, but they were renovating the second floor, so it wasn't as upkept. One anecdote that I have was they took the seniors out to the park the day before, and the next day since they enjoyed it so much. They decided to have a picnic. Things like that are very good for the seniors, and also I found that they're really trying to make the space as beautiful as possible. From what I've seen, the staff seemed hands-on with the patients, and that's really, really important. The dining looked very interesting. They were just preparing for lunch, so everyone was just getting together to sit. I like the option that if you don't want to sit in the dining room you can have it in your room if you need. And if a family member visits, they could have a meal with the senior that's residing there. And they allow their seniors to make their space their space. They allow them to bring in their own personal items. I saw one that was so beautiful. The lady brought in her own painting, her own dresser, and her own little armchair. It was really nice.

I went to Castle Senior Living at Forest Hills. I didn't like anything about it. That's why I'm not going there. On top of which is they didn't have any openings. And the thing is that my uncle had to be sedated. From what I saw, there was no kind of interaction. It didn't seem like a welcoming place for my uncle. Nobody didn't seem like they were happy. They weren't being engaged. You didn't hear a song. They didn't have any activities going on. Nothing. I didn't like it. The person who gave us the tour was wonderful. She was very accommodating to us. The building appeared clean, but it smelled bad.

A complete dump! This place needs to be removed from any and every list of referral. Numerous staff do not understand english well, the hallway floors are dirty, the second floor smelled of urine, rooms were very messy,no matching or updated furniture in common areas. I've seen cleaner and more orderly subway stations.

I toured Castle Senior Living at Forest Hills. The main thing that I noticed as I walked in was that the residents there seemed pretty happy. Their manager was very thorough in her presentation of the different aspects of the care that my friend would be able to get in their facility, and that was all very well done. Then she took us for a tour of the floor that my loved one would most likely be. However, it didn't look very clean to me. It just didn't have a clean vibration. It just seemed a little bit kind of messy. The staff was very good. She gave an excellent tour. She answered all our questions. She took us directly to their memory care. She showed us one room what it would look like, and I was able to see the dining area. The dining area wasn't very clean at all. It looked wet. And the room wasn't clean, too.

The tour I had at Castle Senior Living at Forest Hill was good. It was very interesting and very informative. It's a very limited area. It's kind of compressed and yet they made it look like they made good use of the space. They showed us a one-bedroom and it was very nice. The gentleman who showed us around was all very good and very informative. Downstairs, they had a common area where people gathered inside the building and they also had an outside area where people were gathering too. It looked clean.

Mom moved to Castle Senior Living at Forest Hills. We like that it has very open spaces and it is very clean. They have many activities going on for the residents. There's a lot of attention to detail when it comes to their medical needs, their medication administration, the privacy of the rooms, and the cleanliness. So far from what I've noticed, the meals are very appropriate. It's very plentiful, varied, and healthy. Mom's room is very clean and very comfortable. She has a small kitchenette, a full-size bed, a window, and an air conditioner. She was provided with one dresser and a chair. The bathroom is within the room. It has a shower with grab bars and a chair, and the closet is pretty big. The people are very attentive.

My 100 year old aunt lives at Castle. We visited this past week and were so happy with the care and amenities. All staff always helpful, I am so grateful for my brothers choice here at Castle! It was wonderful to interact and view the attention and respect they all receive. Thank you all for being so understanding and caring. Bravo to all office members who put out so much effort in running a well rounded HAPPY place!

Castle Senior Living at Forest Hills had a nice, large room set up for mom. We brought in books, pictures, and touches of home. We also brought in her clothes and I kept on saying to them that she would have to go through the clothes with an aide or a CNA. For some reason when she was handling her clothes on her own and trying to hang them up in the closet (knowing that she has severe osteoporosis), she lost her balance and fell. This was like a few days of her being there. Somehow that message never got through. She injured herself quite severely. Family members could get one complimentary meal as part of admission. So, I had some of their food and it was pretty good, but after that, family members have to pay separately for it. I was only there for maybe two or three days after she was admitted and I've seen their activities calendar and they have religious services (it's run by Jews). They also provide two types of transportation. One was a van to take a bunch of residents shopping and the other one was getting a single resident to a doctor's appointment. It's a pretty nice building.

My mom moved into Castle Senior Living at Forest Hills. So far, everything is okay. The staff members were very nice. I wish that there were exercise classes, but there aren't any. I don't know if it's because of COVID. I know they offer bingo, and they have puppies that come in from a shelter or something, which is lovely because seniors love pets. She's in assisted living, so she's taking care of herself. They have staff members knocking on her door when she doesn't come down for dinner, or lunch, or breakfast. They oversee that she understands the time and that she comes down on time. If she's in her room for a very long time, they knock on the door to find out how she's doing. They invite her down.

I can't imagine feeling more secure, protected, and content than I am here in the spacious building surrounded by friendly and helpful caregivers. It's both energizing and comforting. I can go down to the first floor to sit and have a smoke at night in the lovely backyard. I have all that I need!

Castle Senior Living at Forest Hills was very nice and very convenient for the residents. The staff was very knowledgeable and pleasant. The food was delicious, but when we went there, the dining room was cold. The apartment we saw looked very nice. We also saw people playing bingo.

Castle Senior Living at Forest Hills was a bit odd in terms of getting around, but they were really friendly, and it felt really good. They had buses to take people on tours and activities, and it was really well done. They have knowledgeable staff, and whatever they needed to do, they will tell you about it.

I am writing this review to compliment the experience I had in the private dining room. My mother had a visit from her niece nephew and grandniece. They were most accommodating to set up the dining room and Daniella, our server was most attentive. I felt like I was in a 5 star hotel. Thank you so much!

The facilities at Castle Senior Living at Forest Hills were nice. They can deal with walkers, but wheelchair-bound would be a problem. It was overall attractive. They offer three meals a day and had TV lounges, places for social gatherings, and a little cafe where they can get snacks and beverages. The staff was very nice and very informative. It was very immaculate.

Our experience with Castle Senior Living was very good. They were very attentive, very nice, very social, very clean, and very caring. They had a social calendar. They had bingo, music, and outings. They had a library, and they had activities. We chose it because it was in the neighborhood. We had our mother-in-law there, and we were very happy with it.

Castle Senior is very good. They are all Hebrew, and they serve Jewish meals. Wonderful meals from what I see. The room situation that I looked at was with a roommate. There is going to be two in a room. It is very clean and quite nice. The grounds are nice, and you can sit outside. You can't bring guests to up to your room because you have a roommate. They can bring them downstairs where they can buy refreshments. They have a lot of activities planned. They have physical time in the morning for about a half hour. They have a weight room and a computer room. It's very beautiful facility with beautiful dining rooms. I have some more medical problems to take care of, otherwise I would be there now.

My mom has only been in Castle Senior Living for 2 or 3 days, and so far they seem to be reasonably good. I was very impressed with the staff. The people there were competent, professional and caring. Their services were reasonably pleasant, reasonably in evidence. It was good locationally; convenient to where she was before.
