My mom is in Atria Tanglewood. They take very good care of her, they are very nice to her, and they're very helpful to her. She's 98, and she tells me that she feels very secure in their care. Everybody's very friendly. They all know me on a first name basis, and I like the security at the front desk. They don't let any strangers in. Everybody has to sign in. I particularly like Virginia. She's an extraordinary person. She was the one that showed us the place. We went to three different assisted living places, and we liked this one the best. I have tasted the food at the holiday parties. Some of the food is good. Some of the food, I'm not crazy about. It's very clean. I walk in there, I'm really happy because it smells good. They really keep the building nice. They vacuum and clean every day. Sometimes my mom, unfortunately, will have an accident, when she's in her apartment and they come right away and they shampoo her rug and clean it. They're really good like that. They offer so much there. She's played bingo and she has gone to a couple of the concerts once in a while. The activities are great. Vinny and Taylor coordinate the activities. They had this tie dye designing for shirts. My mother went down to check it out, but she didn't participate in it. At least they got her out to see it. They do fake bowling outside in the garden area. They do pretend horse racing. They have people come in and play music and they have concerts, movies, and arts and crafts. I have a lot of people that I like there. It's a great place. I chose this place because I like the rooms better. I like that they have a sink in the kitchen area. The other places you had to go to the bathroom to wash your hands. This place had everything that my mom needed.

Good day, I am reaching out to express my sincere gratitude for Ann Austin. Recently my husband and I toured at the Tanglewood facility in Lynbrook. As any family, we were nervous and hesitant. After meeting with Ann our hesitation and anxiousness dissipated. She answered all of our questions and put our concerns at ease. Having a family member enter a facility is nerve wracking and experiencing her expertise, knowledge, and compassion for the residents there warmed our hearts. Everyone knew her by name and Ann stopped and spoke with all the residents who acknowledged her. She is truly an asset to the facility. Thank you, Victoria and Family

When mom was on her own, we were constantly concerned about her well being. She was isolated, we were unsure if she eating properly, we were never quite sure if she was taking her meds?, etc…… One of the best decisions we made was to have Mom move into Atria Tanglewood over two years ago. The entire team at Atria Tanglewood are all warm and caring people that have created a very special environment for all of the residents. We rest easy knowing that Mom is at Tanglewood, her days are filled with social activities, and we know she is receiving the care she deserves.

The entire community is wonderful. The rooms are immaculate and maintained very well. The food is tasty and plentiful. Most importantly, the staff is caring, competent, understanding, and always available to help solve any problem. My mom has been extremely happy here and has no complaints.

Atria Tanglewood allow walkers, but they don't allow wheelchairs and that's why I picked the place because I'm not ready to go with a wheelchair yet. We went to visit my son's mother-in-law. She showed me the dining room. The only negative I found in Tanglewood, everybody was very, very old. I was not impressed about that. I wasn't escorted throughout the building at all to see, other than my son's mother-in-law. I saw that her room was beautiful. The rooms were equal to the other facility, beautiful, big lodge, nice and I wanted the one bedroom. It was perfect, and she was very happy. It's a lovely place as far as everything else and very, very clean. If I had to rate it, it deserves excellence for cleanliness, but they are pricey. It has a little kitchenette when you walk in, a refrigerator, and a microwave. They have a safe in the kitchenette area where you can put your personal items. It was lovely.

My dad was originally at Atria Tanglewood assisted living, and they have independent living there also. They had a lot of great activities. They have less expensive pricing than where he is now and the staff is really good. The reason he left was that he needed someplace that could handle his level of care. Their food was really good. In terms of the layout, I think it needs to be updated a little bit more. It's a nice place overall, they just didn't utilize a lot of the areas.

I toured Atria Tanglewood. I was very happy with the way the residents looked. They were very entertained and the staffing looked very good with them. They looked very happy. The staff was very friendly and very attentive. They were interacting very well with the residents. The facility was very clean. The food was very good. The rooms were very clean and nice. They were playing board games with the residents and drawing. I am leaning towards admitting mom there.

I visited Atria Tanglewood. I thought that they were very attentive to the residents and that the residents seemed happy. They're engaging in different activities and things like that. When I was there, they were playing ping-pong. They offered food, but I was not hungry. The facility was very nice, very clean, and very modern. The staff was very friendly, very engaging, and very informative.

I toured Atria Tanglewood to possibly take my mom there. It was extremely clean. The staff was very polite. It felt very welcoming. I had visited other facilities and I didn't have the same warm reception. I spoke with the director and she was very informative, gave me all the information, and answered all my questions. My mother was offered care. She would have availability to mingle with other residents. She would have her own facility, but also at the same time, she could partake with the community in having meals and activities and things of that nature. Whereas in other places, they didn't offer those amenities. The facilities were amazing and very modern. It didn't have that rundown feeling.

I visited Atria Tanglewood. The staff was phenomenal, the care that they give the elderly, just the all-around impression, and the cleanliness. I've been to several and it's not easy, so when you see how they take care of your loved ones, that's what's very important. They have a lot of activities. I saw them yesterday playing ping-pong and sitting playing cards. They're very active. The staff was also interactive with them. They're not just sitting there in the bed or sitting in a chair. They're in that rec room and they're doing a lot of activities that are stimulating for the residents, which is very, very good. The food looked appetizing. The place was very clean.

Atria Tanglewood was the best. It was the roomiest and most comfortable place we've seen. Everybody was very friendly and the suites were larger than the other facilities. They had refrigerators, microwaves, and a kitchen sink in it. Virginia took us around and was lovely. She was very forthwith, very honest, and upfront. They even sent home a package of muffins with my parents.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Atria Tanglewood and the staff, but I will try! I began searching for an assisted living community for my mother who at 91 had undergone surgery and could no longer live independently. From the initial intake conversation with the sales manager Virginia, I knew this was the right place for my mom. The location is beautiful and the facility feels like a hotel rather than an institutional building. The rooms are clean, bright and spacious. The Executive Director Ann is wonderful, understanding and very hands on. The activities director works very hard to schedule an array of activities and Tanglewood has a vibrant community of residents and there are staff members available to assist in whatever capacity is needed. As my mother's health worsened, the staff and administration really supported us. It was definitely an adjustment for my mother but she acknowledged that Atria Tanglewood was really a lovely place and she was fortunate to be there!

I visited Atria Tanglewood, and I liked everything - the activities, the rooms, and the people; they were all high on my list. They were just more youthful, and they were participating in activities. They were very friendly, and I just thought it would be a better fit for my parents. It was perfect, it was friendly, it was light, and updated; so, I like it. The staff spent a lot of time with us, and we're not pressured to make a decision. Activities, they had a lot; they had a knitting club, an exercise club, they got bingo, and painting. There were many activities.

Atria Tanglewood was very nice and very comfortable. The apartments were a good size. Everything was clean. The outdoor sitting area had a patio with green space that was very nice. The staff I met was very accommodating and friendly, they answered all of my questions, and they took their time with me. This place gave me muffins and offered us the opportunity to come, eat there, and try the food. The muffins were delicious. When I was there, there was a lecture of some kind going on. The room was full and people were engaged. I thought they were very good. The parking situation was easy for residents. They get a parking spot if they need it and visitors could easily find parking.

I liked Atria Tanglewood a lot. It would have been my second choice. It's just that it's fifteen miles away from where I live. I thought it was well maintained. The staff that I met was very caring. I met some of the residents. They only had good things to say about the facility and the people that work there. I thought the management that I met was very competent, very knowledgeable, and friendly.

We found Atria Tanglewood for my mom and she moved in. It's just a good fit for her. The staff is warm, caring, very involved, and looking after her best interest. Everybody is accessible, everybody returned calls, and this place was the closest to my house. It's literally like a hotel, her room is absolutely perfect, they're attending to her needs, it is large for a studio, she's very happy there. I like how everybody is on top of her medication, her needs, everybody is following through very thoroughly, it is just perfect, and it made it very easy for me. They have hallway exercises, she's doing PT, OT, and without COVID there's an enormous amount of activities, but right now it's a bit limited. She loves the food and she brags about the food.

Atria Tanglewood was very nice. I was familiar with it because I knew somebody that had stayed there before. They had a lot of activities going on, they had a lot of amenities, talking was easy, the access was easy, and the people there were friendly. The rooms were nice, but they said they cannot care for her in her condition.

I went to Atria Tanglewood, and all that I saw was independent living. They didn't have anything available in the assisted living, so they outright told me that my mother would not fit in to their community because she needed too much care. The girl during the visit was lovely and spent time with me. My mother wasn't ambulatory enough for them. It was a nice place, it looked clean, but it had a little bit of an age to it. It felt homey enough.

Atria Tanglewood was beautiful. The rooms were good sized. The staff was nice, but she was a bit overboard trying to get us to come there. The dining area was very nice. They had an area called a hub, which had the dining area and all the activity areas together, the theater, bistro attached to a solarium, and common area. It's a very active community. The menu looked good. It was very well laid out. If you wanted some quiet time, you could be in the lobby.

Atria Tanglewood was very nice and the people seemed very nice. They showed us a variety of 1-bedroom apartments. One 1-bedroom was quite large with a huge kitchen, a living room, a good-sized bedroom, and a bathroom. They also offer three meals a day and quite a bit of activities like bingo, movies, and different holidays. The price was a little high and a lot more expensive than other places. The food looked good and there was a variety of different food options. The place was very clean.

I visited Atria Tanglewood. I didn't consider it because they didn't have a 24-hour nurse and cannot provide shots for diabetic. I thought it was dark inside, but they had a nice outside garden. The room size was a little small.

We were ultimately disappointed. My fiance's Mom was there for a few years until she passed last year. Reading the other reviews, yes the place is well appointed and clean. The staff is friendly and empathetic, but solely from bottom up. Being that Atria is privately owned by a hedge fund, the focus of management is almost solely on their salary and bonuses. Yes, you might get a few trite smiles and polite conversation, but no substance. In addition, the staff holds obvious favorites instead of treating all persons fairly or trying to draw the more reticent or shy residents out Activities are targeted to perhaps draw residents out for only 1 event per day. The clear preference is for residents to come out of their rooms only for meals. less effort for staff. Although there are signs not allowing tipping, the most ballyhooed event of the entire year is the employee holiday party where family of residents receive multiple " entreaties" to contribute to year end employee bonuses. the implications are clear. In all instances, family-posed questions, inquiries, request for information are frowned upon and typically unanswered with again the clear implication that family cannot always be present at the facility, therefore it is better for family to remain silent and take what comes. Theft is ongoing. Speaking with the residents, they frequently report items missing from their rooms. Their complaints are often attributed to the vagaries of old age. My fiance's mothers pearls, a treasured possession and not once removed from a medication lock box for which there was only 2 keys - one for residents and 1 by management somehow disappeared after her death. A senior management person frequently bragged about her " 94% success rate with placing residents at the correct tables in the dining room". Questions about how this was achieved was met with a blank stare. Her methodology was only to place a new resident at an empty seat. If there was an argument or episode of significant magnitude, then the person was moved. The Dr on staff is empathetic, but a volume physician - dealing with multiple assisted living, hospices, and nursing homes throughout the area. Weekend appointments are limited to a few minutes. In addition, several residents go in without the benefit of family. There is no procedure for an Atria nursing professional to be present at the Dr visits and report the findings back to family. Although reports of thefts are dismissed as the rantings of elderly, there seems to be no need for an Atria professional to be present at Dr. exams to account for these " old age" gaps. Our advice, if the need for placement in assisted living is unavoidable, to seek out the smaller, non-chain operated facilities where management inclinations would be more of a calling than a money hunt.

Atria is specially well-maintained. The people are very upper-class elegant, but very old at about in the 85 years old age group. The rooms are very well-kept, nice, and have their own private bathrooms. The food appeared to be from a five-star restaurant. When she went in there, the medical staff was a little shaky as far as the medication was concerned.

Mom was very happy when she walked into Atria Tanglewood. The staff was phenomenal. They were very caring, very forthcoming, and very good to all the people who live there. It's a very nice, quiet, and clean place. The food is very good, too. My mother has her own living room, a little kitchenette, and a bathroom. She's very happy there.
