Initially aides were needed for just part of the day. As my mother needed more care as she got older, Beverly worked with us to expand the hours. Now we have four aides who work 12-hour shifts around the clock. We live over 1000 miles away and would not be able to keep Mom in her home as she wants without the wonderful women who take care of her. (We have met all of the current aides during pre-Covid trips to see Mom, as well as communicate with them on the phone, and can honestly say we like each one.) Beverly and her office have worked with us over the years to minimize new people when an aide is sick or going to be on vacation since changes make Mom very anxious. As sometimes happens, if my mother just doesn't like a person, that has also been resolved quickly. If I'm concerned about something, I call or email and Beverly decides with us what action to take. If an aide is concerned about a change in my mother's health, Beverly lets us know. She even called us when the pandemic became bad in NYC to tell us what precautions they were having the aides take. "Elite Home Care is wonderful. The staff is great. If I have any questions or whatever, they promptly answered. They're absolutely professional and prompt. We have an aide three days a week for my dad. She takes care of my dad, gives him his three meals a day, I set up the medication, and she gives it to him. Eli and the young girl that's working in the agency are wonderful, they're very helpful. This agency is extremely helpful to our family in getting us the right aides, answering our questions promptly, and getting back to us. "Before my recent surgery, I knew I needed assistance since family/friends are not in a position to help, but I wasn't sure where to turn or how to find good quality assistance. In addition, Home Instead was the only agency I found that would help me get home from the hospital, helping carry my stuff, getting into a taxi, and up the stairs to my home.
