"The staff was very friendly and actually knew what was going on with the patients in their care. They always make sure that medications are dispensed on time and accurately, and they are very patient with the patients. They always are constantly checking in on the patients, and communicate very well with family members. The building, at the time was very old, but it was clean and organized. The food looked like it was very good and my grandmother said it was much better than most. Also it is nice to see the same staff members there for a long time which to me means that they like what they are doing, rather than treat it like a job that just pays the bills. When I walked through the building I always got a nice smile from everyone I came in contact with. Also it looked like their equipment was up to date and pretty new. The building has since been removed and they built a new complex that is about 10 times the size. "

"Our experience with Dry Harbor is better than great. Especially the Finance/Business Office Abe is exceptional, reliable and extremely helpful. When my dad was staying at Dry Harbor Abe helped and assisted my dad with getting Medicare. Later on Abe helped my dad with switching back to Blue Cross insurance. We do appreciate all of Abe's help and assistance. Abe is the best!!!!! Many Thanks to Abe!"

"The staff are caring, supportive, compassionate and giving. The rooms are large and the entire facility is clean. The food and good and plentiful. Despite the difficulties due to the pandemic, the staff has provided activities and materials for me to self direct on my own. I go to the lounge and play games with some of the other residents here. My family visits in person and through the computer. I am very happy that I chose Sands Point as my permanent home. "

"I toured the Dumont Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare. On every floor we were taken to, I didn't see any discrepancies. We were taken to the memory care division. It looked like it was a clean place, so I have no complaints. The staff member who gave the tour was not knowledgeable, but the person they claimed we were supposed to see had something else to do, so they put another person on to take us around. He was OK. If we had another person who normally does it, we'd get more information on him, but it wasn't bad. It was OK. It looked like a clean area. I didn't see anything wrong with the rooms they showed us and that we passed through, but I peeked, and they looked well-kept. They showed us different rooms. They showed us one-on-one, and then we saw two-on-two. I mean two people in a room, and we saw one person in the room. So it was OK."

"Other than parking, Hopkins Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare was very nice. The lobby was pleasant. When they took me up to see the floors, the facility was pretty clean. The residents that I met there were pleasant. Sometimes, you tour a nursing home and they look miserable, and they didn't seem that way there. The staff was pleasant. They have an activity calendar for the month and they had several things to do daily. Usually in the summertime because it's warm, they have a barbecue every Wednesday. They have a backyard where the residents can go and that was nice, very peaceful, and very green. The dining area was clean, pretty new, and good-sized, and they had a menu. It impressed me. The staff was very helpful and informative. I felt comfortable. I didn't get a bad vibe."

"My mom was at Rockville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation for about 2 months.... from the minute she walked in till the day she left she was always treated with respect. The staff is exceptional. Nurses and aids were very attentive and encouraging and the physical therapist were amazing. They took such good care of her and made her feel at home. She regained her strength and her independence. Linda the social worker was exceptional, always there to help! She made sure my mother went home with everything she needed and with the services that were needed. My mother is 91 years old and is stronger, healthier and happier then when she entered. The facility itself is getting a beautiful facelift. The rooms are light and airy and very comfortable. Thank you to the hardworking staff and thank you Linda for all your help and advice."

"I was at Oceanside Care Center for about a month. The care was great. The facility was spotless and the rehab people were great. Everything in that place was good. There are usually two people in each room separated by a curtain. There's a bathroom in each room with two closets. They have a cafeteria where they show movies, they have talks and educational films. The food was acceptable. It wasn't great, but compared to other rehabs, the food was pretty good. The staff worked very hard. It wasn't that comfortable to have a roommate, so that's the only thing, but you can't help that. They have a rehab gym. It's the best rehab in the area. I was in four different ones, and that was the best."

"My father stayed at Lynbrook Restorative Therapy and Nursing, for a short stay, after his discharge from the hospital. The facility is well-maintained and in a nice neighborhood that was convenient to get to from our house. Every employee I encountered was considerate and seemed to take pride in their work. Overall, I was left with a very positive impression of the operation of Lynbrook Restorative Therapy and Nursing. During my father's stay: the staff was consistently attentive to my father's needs and accommodating. My dad liked the food very much, which was vitally important to his recovery and well being. My father's room was nice, well-furnished, and kept very clean, including his bathroom. Ava, the Director of Social Work, was especially responsive, helpful, and caring when addressing my father's needs. Althea and Mahdai (Certified Nursing Assistants) did a wonderful job taking care of my dad during his stay. Amelia (Admitting Nurse) was professional and compassionate when dealing with my dad, and thorough when assessing my father, upon his initial arrival. Michelle (Director of Admissions) and Vedia managed my father’s admission to the facility in a timely and considerate manner. I don't know the names of everyone who attended to my father, however, I believe all the staff who attended to my father and/or contributed to his well-being during his stay, did a good job taking care of my dad; their combined effort put my family's mind at ease and is very much appreciated. My family is sincerely grateful for all their dedication and hard work. I would definitely consider, and feel reassured, sending a loved-one and family member to Lynbrook Restorative Therapy and Nursing should the need arise in the future. "

"My mom is in Orzac Center for Rehabilitation for rehab. So far the nurses are excellent. I think that the nursing assistants could use a little more assisting as far as being attentive. Rehabilitation is the number one in this area, that's why we were there twice a day, six days a week is excellent. The dining. is good, if you don't care for what you have, you can call downstairs and they'll send you something else. I like that. I like the fact that when there are underlying conditions like my mother's because she has DVT, I noticed that her leg is huge the same way it was when I first took her to the E.R. last Sunday. And immediately the doctor came in at this time of the night. She's in a shared room, I had an issue with the bathroom, it was awful. And the floor was being mopped, but they weren't doing the wall behind the toilet. So if you have a family member who's there who can push it, and they came in and cleaned it, it's spotless. When you first walk in, the facility is like a five-star hotel. It's beautiful. They have a huge patio area, tables and umbrellas, and they have a lot of activities. They have activities in the day room, they bring in live animals. Every day, there is something. Tomorrow is going to be a church service at 2:15. Today they did something with bingo. Every time I go there they are finishing off an activity, but just to have you take your loved one, push them in the wheelchair out on their patio, it doesn't seem like you're sitting in Valley Stream. It seems like you're sitting out somewhere in the countryside."

"Really impressed with the care here. The administrator was really personable and caring. He sat with me for 3 hours and worked through some of my concerns. Can't beat how much time he spent trying to make my life a little easier, kind of uncomfortable having mom outside my hands after being home with us for so long. Also nurse Kethrine was working late nights with us and was very very impressive as well. Rehab is going well I can tell there are staffed really well. Overall very happy so far"

"There's nothing that I didn't like at The Five Towns Premier Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. I like that even with COVID going on, they gave us a complete tour of the building. It's immaculate, it's clean and they are professional. You can see that the staff is very friendly, they care about their patients and you could see that it's professionally run. The staff is very clean in uniform and their amenities were nice."

"My mom has dementia so she is not very aware of where exactly she is. But she's ok there at Garden Care Center and we're okay with her being there. As far as satisfaction, I would wish that she would cooperate more with her cleanliness but she won't and they’re able to get her cleaned up but it’s not always consistent. She is a tough person to handle. She does not always cooperate and they have to deal with her attitude so I think they manage her well. She was far worse at home and she would not accept any home care so we didn’t have much of a choice. I think their staff is responsive to my family's request or need, whether its information or anything. They try to address any of our concerns. They have a nice patio which gives the residence a chance to get out in the air. My mother is at a stage where we're not able to bring her away from the place. We would wish that she was more capable and we could provide a lifestyle that was a little better but it’s where she's at and we've accepted that. The staff does a great deal of flexibility, and for some people that may not work. But my mother is a difficult person and the fact that they are flexible with her is necessary to keep her okay. "
