"Imperial Care is just like home. They have a lot of activities for the patients there. They provide good care, and they obviously care about the residents a lot. The staff is good. They are very nice people. So far they are attentive to the resident's needs. As for sanitation and odor is concerned, most of the time the facility is clean. I've been there a couple of times where a resident might have an accident or something. You tend to smell that now and then. But the whole facility never smelled like that. The food is excellent. The rooms are pretty nice as well. "

"My relative chose the Medicenter Nursing Home in Neptune City, New Jersey, because it was close to family and friends. I visited with her several times a week there and it was a facility that I could not recommend to anyone. She was an active patient, but could not walk well. An alarm was placed on her to alert the staff if she tried to get out of her chair. When the alarm sounded, no one would respond. She fell on the floor so many times while in this nursing home that I stopped counting. She was bruised from head to toe. The home bragged that they were a "no restraint" facility, but they failed to add that their residents were often the victims of injuries due to falls. Medicenter was also not up to par on cleanliness. I witnessed nursing aides leaving patient's rooms still wearing the gloves that they had used in handling the patient. The staff didn't seem to understand basic rules of hygiene. I felt positive when my relative entered this home, because it was a small facility with a fairly good reputation. Afterwards, I regretted not helping to get her into another home. I arrived there one day to find my relative unable to speak intelligibly. I had to almost beg the nurse to call her doctor. She was taken to the hospital where she died a week later. She was in kidney failure, and the staff didn't notice how ill she seemed. If another family member wanted to reside in this nursing home, I would do everything possible to talk them out of it. "

"Out of all the nursing homes I've seen my grandmother in, Manor By the Sea was clearly the best. All of the staff knew all of the residents and personalized both the care they gave the residents as well as the attention they gave their family. So many nursing homes seem to be completely lacking stimulation. At Manor By The Sea, there were daily activities and events. None of which were what I would call condescending. Everything the residents did was chosen wisely and reflected their past, as opposed to seeming like a childish activity. The facilities were fabulous and looked as though they were hotel quality. Overall it was a fabulous facility with wonderful caretakers. "

"A lockdown is very difficult for both the patients and their families. It’s times like this that brings out the best and the worst in people. Kim’s understanding and compassion definitely helps ease my mind. She is never to busy to listen and help. I am thankful for her presence at Care One"

"Staff is friendly, patient, and caring. Facility is clean and neat. Nurses are available when called and are very thorough. Activities are held every day for patients. Large patient cafeteria is at facility and food is decent per grandmother. Diets are strictly followed. Patients are allowed outside in courtyard and can be signed out with family members to leave the premises. Parking is always easy to find and has a convenient drop off spot at front door. Patients can borrow wheelchair for the day when taken out with family members. "

"My mother is in Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Tinton Falls. She was there once before, and it's excellent therapy; she was able to walk again. When you call them, they respond. They're there for whatever your needs are. They're very responsible. When you need something, they'll call you back instantly. I called them this morning at 8:30, by 10:00, I had an answer. They're very caring to my mother. The food is excellent. If she doesn't like what they are serving that day, they will make her anything else she needs -- salmon, there are many choices. It's an excellent place. They're a "five" in every aspect, and they are caring, concerned, and responsible."

"Mom has move to Brandywine at Wall. It is friendly and small. The staff is very competent and caring. There are lots of activities ranging from movies, word games, and crafts. The food is OK. Everything is meticulously cared for -- the maintenance, cleanliness and friendliness on the staff part. "

"My mother moved into Preferred Care At Wall a month ago. The staff is very helpful, very friendly, and always keeps us updated on things. The place is very clean, updated, and they have good activities. They have a beauty salon and a snack shop. I have eaten there, and the food is good. She's in a shared room, but it's very nice."

"My sister is in Monmouth Care Center. It's very good. Everybody there seems very nice, takes really good care of her, and looks out for her. It's very nice. It's a newer building, has two floors, and doesn't have the nasty smell that I experience with other nursing homes, so it's a clean place. "

"Dad came home yesterday from Meridian Nursing and Rehab at Shrewsbury. It was a terrific place. The staff was very caring and there were a lot of them in and out of his room all of the time. When he needed something, they were there and he didn't have to wait for anything. They were very helpful and punctual, as my father said. He was very happy with them. The food was excellent, like being in a restaurant. There was a lot of it, very nutritional, and had everything anyone could need and more. My hat's off to the chef. They had activity time, like bingo and entertainments coming in. The only thing that was a little difficult for us was the language barrier with the aides. A lot of them are from different islands and hard to understand. It had nothing to do with their performance; it was just a little communication problem on our end because they didn't seem to have a problem understanding us. I can't think of any complaints that we had while we were there. It was clean, and everything was on the up-and-up. "

"My sister has memory issues and was not able to take care of herself. Living far distant from her, I rely on the wonderful care HMH has offered. The staff, especially the Activities department (Sue and Frank) keep my sister engaged with pertinent activities. My sister enjoys the food and especially the morning coffee cart. I have FaceTime every week to connect and have engaging conversation with my sibling. She is up to date with the local and world news via her room TV. Her clothes are clean . She likes the art and cooking and trivia activities. The building is not attractive but the kindness of the people is note worthy."
