"What The Haven had was good. You could live by yourself as long as you could take care of yourself. If you couldn't take care of yourself anymore and you needed more nursing or more care, they had another section you could move right into. So you wouldn't have to go look for another place. It was beautiful with lot of lights in the room. The grounds were well-kept with a big clubhouse. The people who would show you around would give you information that you should have to make a good decision. "

"My room is bug infested. I've reported the problem but nothing has been done. I push the button for help and have had to wait anywhere from 1 to 6 hours for someone to see what the problem is. Every morning I ask the nurse for my pain medication and 1 nurse tells me she'll check then walks away. She usually comes back between 2 to 3 hours later. Since I've been transferred to this section I have not had any type of exercise or physical therapy. I have not been out of this bed once. The food is horrible. I would not recommend this place to anyone, not even my worse enemy!"

"The tour that we had at Seabrook was very interesting. It looks very nice, but it’s enormous and a beautifully run place. You have to walk through about seven interconnected buildings, from one to the other. They have a little jeep that runs around the property every 15 minutes, so you could take that. They had a dining room; we were in the one of the clubhouses, and the dining room is in the other clubhouse, so you have to take the bus to get to the other clubhouse where they have the dining room. We did see their informal dining room; they have a buffet setup and more informal meals. "

"I really liked Applewood Estates. It is one of my two favorite places so far. It's kind of far away but really nice. It had nice outdoor spaces, good-sized rooms, and a lot to do. For me, programs are important, and I was impressed with their programs. It seemed as though they had a full schedule of activities, including movies, talks, music, or cultural things which are important to me for my mother who is a very good artist. "
