Amber Court Assisted Living of Elizabeth NJ was the former Elizabeth-Carteret Hotel, a landmark building erected in 1927. I liked Amber Court of Elizabeth because of its affordability. The other facilities are much better, but this one is affordable. When I got there though, the lady had mixed up the time that I was supposed to be there. I sat there for about 2 hours because they were telling me to come back on a different day, but I live in Patterson and I don't want to drive back and forth. So, I waited until someone else came down to assist me. The room I saw was nice. It was OK. They don't have a courtyard. They got a rooftop thing upstairs. They have a salon in there someplace, but I didn't get to tour too much of that. I saw that they're still under renovation. I wasn't too pleased with their common areas. It's a refurbished hotel. So, it's right downtown.
