I toured the Heritage of Clara Barton. I toured the facility, the dining area, and the community room where they have different events that they hold. They had a little movie theater, which was a nice surprise. I viewed some of the rooms, which were very spacious. Everybody was smiling and happy and saying hello. Everybody just seemed delighted to be there. It was a really nice experience. Everything was neat and clean. Even in the areas where people could gather and do puzzles or play cards, everything was put back neatly. It's well-cared for. The administrator was very thorough, very good. I was very surprised knowing that part of the building was an older building, but it was very nice.

I would say the best thing about the Heritage of Clara Barton would be the facilities. They have a lot of programs for the senior residents there, and it is very community-based. Although they're assisted and dependent people, they're also very independent people. They have their own vehicles, they have their means of transportation, and it looks like the guests that come around to visit are a part of that greater community whereas it's not just your mother, it's your mother's friend that you come to visit or it's your neighbor downstairs that the guests will also come to visit. It's very nice. If you're paying for a private room, you have a little bit more privacy and space. If it's not a private room, then you're most likely to share it with another person, and the rooms become more like a dormitory. They have a recreational hall, a dining hall, a couple of common areas, and a makeshift movie theater. The staff who toured me was very hospitable. I enjoyed the experience of going and visiting. I enjoyed meeting the representatives and their hospitality.

The least thing I liked about Heritage of Clara Barton was the parking for my car. I didn't like it. The thing I liked the most was the utilities and that the laundry is included in the price. They only showed me the room. They didn't show me the whole place. I only dealt with one person, but while I was waiting, another person came up to me and asked me if I needed any help. There's a mall and restaurants nearby.

Heritage of Clara Barton looked very clean. The people were friendly, they answered all of our questions, and they were very helpful. The apartments were spacious, and they had a nice large windows and plenty of closets. What we saw was very nice. I have no complaints. I think it would be good for a senior person. They did say they had a good chef, but we were not offered lunch or a meal. They have all the bells and whistles. They have a library and a gathering room. They had friendly people. It seemed like there were quite a few caregivers there. It had everything that a person should need. They even had a computer room, which I thought was nice, and it was a very bright and airy community.

I went over to Heritage of Clara Barton, and I saw the 2-bedroom. It was roomy, but they had rugs on the floor, in the living room, and the bedroom. I was just uncomfortable with the rugs. The staff is very friendly and very nice. The rooms were big and clean. The only thing I did not like was the rug, and I asked them if they will replace it or take them out, and they said no. I saw the dining room, it was okay. The staff were wonderful.

The rooms at Heritage of Clara Barton were too small for me. They had assisted living and independent living. The entrance looked brand new, but the apartment looked like it needed some updating. The staff were friendly. The facility looked pretty clean.

I toured the Heritage of Clara Barton. The independent living side is very old and can use some updating. The assisted living side is the newer side, and that was much nicer. The staff who assisted me were very helpful and very pleasant. I didn't do the food; they don't have dining on the independent side. I think the staff said you can order meals or that, but I didn't look into that at all. Nothing was going on when I was there, but they said that they have an activity person that runs things for the residents. The staff who assisted me was good.

We toured Heritage of Clara Barton. Brianna was very helpful and very thorough. She explained everything and showed us almost every part of the building. She was very nice. It was a huge building and very clean. It is going through some renovations because it is an older building, but it was very well taken care of. The dining area was renovated, and it was huge. It was a really big room and very clean. Every table was set beautifully. I couldn't believe the chandeliers. They had such beautiful chandeliers in the dining room. They were really, really big and beautiful with crystals and everything. It was a very nice looking place. They have a calendar up on the wall. Throughout the day, they have all kinds of stuff like crafts and movies. They keep the residents occupied with all kinds of activities. The third floor was not done yet. They are still renovating, putting in new floors, and renovating the rooms. The rooms that we saw were very spacious. They have different floor plans available. They have a studio. They have several one bedrooms, and some are bigger than the others. It was like you step into your own apartment. We weren't able to try the food. She showed us a menu. The menu looked really good, and it smelled good in there.

The Heritage of Clara Barton was very nice. The rooms were kind of small, but it's enough for one person and for one bedroom. The staff members were very good, very nice, and concise. They explained everything very well. The rooms were clean and very nice. The apartment I looked at had its own kitchen. The outdoor was very nice with plants. Everyone had their own space.

Heritage of Clara Barton seemed a little old, and it looked like they're updating it. There were not very many outdoor spaces except for the front. There wasn't a lot of green space. The staff was nice. The rooms were OK, but they seemed a little old and a little sad. Upkeep and maintenance looked OK. They had food choices and the dining area was nice, but there were no windows. They had card games, movies, and some outings.

We like Heritage of Clara Barton. We like the physical facility itself. It was bright, it was really clean, and it was inviting. It was very warm when you walked in. A lot of places are dark and dreary, and they were very bright. Even the hallways where we went to and see the actual rooms looked more like a hotel. It was very nice. They have like apartments where two patients are sharing the apartment. It could be two patients sharing a galley kitchen and a bathroom. They were good sizes. They had good closet space. It was clean and bright. The staff was very friendly and very nice. As we walked the facility, people spoke to you. We had an opportunity to meet the chef, too. The residents seemed happy. It was very lively. The residents were out and about, and they were doing things. The person we walked with knew the name of every person that we passed, so they seem to be caring. We saw the dining area and the recreation area. We saw the outside spaces where residents could go sit outside or go for a walk. They did not serve us a meal, but we were able to go into the dining room while residents were eating. The food looked and smelled good. That was the first place we visited and after visiting there, we didn't want to visit any other places.

I went to Heritage of Clara Barton to visit my friend's place and the community seemed very nice. It was quiet and everybody was extremely nice, very kind, and very pleasant. They have a chapel and a room with some computers. It was just very dated and the room was really small for me.

I've toured Heritage of Clara Barton but the price was a bit out of our range. The place was nice, but we were looking for something that has more activities as part of the community, and we didn't see a lot of that stuff. The staff that we met were flexible, they were nice and willing to work with our hectic schedule. Some of the stuff there looked very old, but overall it looked fine and it's doing the job. The upkeep of the place was very good. It's located where the hospital isn't too far away and there's a Costco around.

I toured the Heritage of Clara Barton. They have nursing there, too. They showed me stuff. They have something for me, but it was in the basement, and I don't like to go to the basement. I would say that the tour went very well. They talked to me nicely, and that was good. It was great. The upkeep was good. The rooms were clean. They showed me the yard, they showed me the dining room, and they showed me the nursing home, too. They toured me like a professional, and that was good. I didn't know much about their activities. I saw some people in activities, but they didn't tell me anything about that.

Heritage of Clara Barton was a nice assisted living facility. I went up there with my friend who had worked in assisted living in Brick. She dealt with memory care individuals. We went through the facility and she gave it a positive review. I had mentioned about so many of the people kind of sitting around not being active and she said at least they're outside. At least they're with other people and if they choose to converse, if they choose to watch TV, or if they choose to get involved in a game, they have that opportunity to do so. I think it was good. They were rehabbing the facility quite a bit but it still looked like it was a nice facility. I could see what they were doing and how they were doing things. The individual rooms were very large. We went into a shared two-bedroom which I think was a good size. This was an old school that had been rehabbed so the ceilings were exceptionally tall like they were 10 or 12 feet tall. The singular room was very large, very pleasant, and very nice. The hallways were not quite as wide as the other one we saw, but they were still wide enough that you could certainly walk 2 wheelchairs down next to each other without having one of them stop while the other one would go by. The restaurant area was very large. I don't think it was quite as nice perhaps as the one we visited in Freehold, but it was still a very pleasant area. The downstairs had a real personality to it. They had an aviary area with birds in it and it was very pleasant. The only thing I would say is that the woman that gave us the tour, who was very good, was only there temporarily. They were hiring a new person for that position. The woman who gave us the tour perhaps wasn't as knowledgeable, but I think we were asking more pointed questions to her too because my aunt was not there at that time and it was the first assisted living that I had gone to so I wanted more detail. She was able to give it to me and said to call back to get the rest of the information that I want to get because she just didn't have them available at the moment. All in all, it's a very nice facility. We did not have the opportunity to have any lunch or anything there, but they did have a little area that was their cafe area and there were quite a few people in there. It was just heading towards lunchtime so some people were just straggling in for lunch. It looked like a nice facility to me.

We're on a waiting list for the Heritage of Clara Barton. Everything looks nice. The room was small. It had a little kitchenette. They look like they had a small library, a small meeting area, and a laundry room. The staff was great, friendly. They seem to be very nice. They have a couple of benches and like a downtown area.

Heritage of Clara Barton is very close to where my mom currently resides now, so that's very comforting for her. It was very friendly. The spaces were very open and pretty. I guess its downfalls are that it's starting to age a little and that area is more crowded than when it first opened. They were excellent. The staff was very friendly, patient, willing to answer all questions, and engaging. It was a well-received experience overall. They have laundry facilities and several entertainment rooms. I toured a one-bedroom, so the living space was just a bedroom, small living area, bathroom, and kitchen. If you wanted to entertain for a larger group, they had several meeting areas that you could use as well. The lobby area for the gathering was nice.

The apartment in Heritage of Clara Barton was extremely small. The manager was very friendly and extra helpful. It was the best part of it. We just didn't really like the facility itself. Overall, it was very dated.

Heritage of Clara Barton offered what my mother is looking for, which is independent living. But she also wanted a facility that also had assisted living just in case in the future she needs additional help. The person who gave the tour was very helpful, she was knowledgeable and friendly, and she answered all my questions. The rooms are fine; they were just small. Since the space is small, she would not be able to bring most of her furniture into that location. Also, they didn't have an oven, it was just a stovetop. I didn't see an oven in case she wanted to cook, but they offer meals, which is something she's interested in. So she might not need to cook as much. The dining area was sufficient, nice ,and clean. They don't have any formal activities, but they do things from time to time. There wasn't a schedule she could show me of different activities, but she says they do get together and do different activities. I guess it's just less formal for independent living.

Heritage of Clara Barton was a clean, beautifully decorated, and attractive facility. The staff members were very kind and good people to have around you if you need them. On the downside, it was a much more restricted life than we are currently living, and it may be necessary if one needs a lot of help in one's living accommodation. But for us, it would be a big, big downsize in our lifestyle, and we wouldn't want to make it, and we're forced to. The staff did a fabulous job. Their dining room was very attractive. The facility was clean, modern, well kept, in good condition, and most importantly, no smells. To be honest, it was pretty institutional. I don't think that's avoidable. I looked at their monthly planner showing the daily activity, and it was very impressive. I mean, all sorts of things are going on. They have physical activities for those capable of it. They have games and bingo. And that was a big plus.

I visited the Heritage of Clara Barton. The tour was fine, but it was more people who were moved in with assisted living. So, they had the freedom to come and go, their cars were there. I don't know why they would want to stay there for that cost of money, but whatever, because they seemed to be pretty much fine. It just didn't feel warm. They charged you for doing your laundry. They charge you for a few things. The rooms were not as nice as the others. It just didn't seem warm; it seemed too business. Maybe that was because the seniors who live there could move around and travel, get in their car and go out to the stores. It was more like a busy place. They resided on the first floor. The other people would reside on the second floor. I think it was great for the seniors who could move around but it didn't feel good for me. It was too fast-moving for my sister-in-law. She had to come down to sit in the dining room, and all these people moving around; it just wasn't perfect. The maintenance and cleanliness seemed fine. We were only there for like tops, an hour. I don't think the improvement is there; I just think that's just the way it is, where the mobile people can move around and do things and do what they want to do. They separate them, but the other one just seems warmer.

We had a tour of Heritage of Clara Barton. I talked with the lady who was in charge of the admissions, and I saw the basic area downstairs. At that time, she told me that all the apartments were full. She couldn't give me a tour because all the apartments were occupied. It was really nice, and the lady that I spoke with was very accommodating. It fit my budget. The facility is very clean. The staff was friendly. I was comfortable. It's located in a nice and clean area. It met all the requirements that I needed, especially as far as the financial budget. They answered all my questions, and they apologized for not being able to give me a tour because all the apartments were occupied. As far as filling out the application, she was very helpful with me. Everything seemed to be up to date.

We toured Heritage of Clara Barton for my parents. The community was fine. It's basically an old school that they had renovated. The place seemed to be fine; I would say that it was average. The staff was very good and very nice. They were fine and helpful. That's the only facility that we had to take a rapid COVID test in order to walk in. They have a lot more restrictions for people visiting than the other ones do. You have to make an appointment and you can only have a 20-minute visitation time, which I think is ridiculous. If my parents were on the second floor, it would take me 20 minutes to get up there. The rooms were small, but they were well-maintained. The dining area was very big and very well presented. Besides the front of the building, I did not see any outdoor spaces.

We toured Heritage of Clara Barton. The staff was very friendly. It was nice. She showed us a one-bedroom, it is kind of small, but it is workable. It has a stovetop, but no oven. My sister would like an oven in the apartment. The hallway looked a little dirty, and the carpets needed shampooing. The staff told my sister what activities they have, and she showed us a recreation room where family members can meet and gather, so she was satisfied with that. The only thing that was a turn-off was the cooking facilities. There was no oven.

Heritage of Clara Barton is clean and it's not smelly. It is sort of fairly minimal compared to the other places we've already seen. But on the other hand, the cost is much, much less. I think that for the amount of money that people will be able to spend, it's probably a pretty good value. But we have seen other places that are more expensive but they are superior in the environment, in the air and in the facilities they provide. The young lady who gave us the tour was excellent. She was very helpful, friendly, and did a great job. In terms of facilities and amenities, compared to some of the other places we've seen, it would not be as impressive. But on the other hand, it's a matter of what people can afford. It's much less expensive than some of the ones we've seen. It was perfectly clean, it was beautifully clean. They have a courtyard, they have an impressive medical room, or a medical office, and that was pretty good. We also saw their laundry area.

I didn't like Heritage of Clara Barton as much as the other 2 places I toured because it felt very cold. It didn't have the warmth and it was like walking into a hospital or a school building. That's how it felt to me. The person that took me on the tour was very friendly. It didn't seem to be as exposed to as much in terms of activities and I didn't see a calendar whereas other places gave me their calendar of activities. I do know they have an activities space. I was kind of hoping that that would be a place that I would be comfortable in, but it just reminded me of going to school. That place is near restaurants and a hospital is not too far away.

We visited Heritage of Clara Barton. I liked their true sense of sincerity and caring about our elderly community. It was absolutely amazing, clean, and very user-friendly. I liked the fact that they gave you a COVID test before you could enter the facility. The staff was outstanding. She is an absolute pleasure to meet. It was all inclusive, which is wonderful for a senior. That includes laundry and electricity. It was a one-stop shop. They don't have to worry about paying five different bills. Cable is included.

I think Heritage of Clara Barton needs some updating. They showed me a one bedroom, and it was clean. The people who work there were nice. The young lady (I think her name was Helen) took us to the day rooms. She showed us the laundry. That was about it. I think it is well maintained. I just think it needs a lot of updating. The carpet definitely needs to be changed; it's very old, but the lighting is fine. They have like a little patio type area where you can sit. You can then have a short walk (it's a little bit of walking, but not much). It's not ideal for my grandmother because she's very independent, and she walks a lot. It was OK, but they didn't have a lot of activities at that location.

I toured Heritage of Clara Barton, and was interested in their independent living, but I also saw the assisted living. It was a place that I would like to live in. I liked the roominess of the apartments, and the two-bedroom was really, really nice. I also saw a one-bedroom deluxe, and it was nice too. It had ample closet space and it was a nice size room. I liked where it was located, because it was near to just about everything. There was a mall right across the street from it and it was within a medical community. They even had medical right there at the place itself. I liked the walkways outside where you could walk, and it didn't even feel like it was in a city. They had cards, teachable things like knitting, shuffleboard, and a theater, but what I was most interested in was the library, because I read a lot. They also did bus tours to different places, like outdoor concerts, and before the pandemic they took bus tours to Atlantic City. There were a lot of activities, and it was a very active community.

Before we started the paperwork at Heritage of Clara Barton, they did a coronavirus test, so they're very, very healthy conscious. Also, the place is as clean as a whistle; it is very impressive. The room that I saw was a one-bedroom, which was very spacious. As far as I know, there is a washer and dryer on three floors, soap comes with them, and they are not coin operated. The woman in charge was super nice and very friendly to us. She answered every question that we asked her. It was nice, and I like it. I wish I could get on their waiting list, and I hope I have the right amount of money when I come to the top of the list. Heritage of Clara Barton is a very good-looking place, and the people there are very nice. I met a couple of residents; they didn't know who I was, but they were nice. They have independent and assisted living there, and I'm trying for independent living. For $300, you'll get one meal a day and for $400, you'll get two meals a day, but obviously that extra is on top of your rental. They also have a recreation room where there is a small library and a small TV. They have a bus that will take you to places for a small fee, too. A one-bedroom would have two electric burners, a refrigerator, a lot of cupboard space, and a wall closet, as well as a bedroom closet for your clothes. It looks good. There is a hookup for cable TV in your room, but you obviously have to buy the TV, and you pay for whatever service you're using. It seemed like a place I would like to live, it looked good, and the people seemed very good.

My parents have been so incredibly happy and blessed to live in this facility. The staff is clearly committed to providing the utmost care and communication. As we continue to adjust to the new normal the care provided put put my husband and I at peace because of the protection my parents are receiving They also feel safe and secure living in the facility. The favorite part of the apartment for my parents is the shower, they no longer worry about falling trying to get in and out. The kitchen is the perfect size and there is a lot of closet space. There is no other place we or they would want to be.

My mom has been a resident at Clara Barton for two and a half great years. She was happy, busy, and content before COVID and she continues to be today. This is mostly due to the outstanding staff at Clara Barton. They have kept strict rules about keeping residents safe while allowing them to have wonderful activities indoor and out! They have made every effort to keep the residents moving and engaged under these difficult circumstances. I have always been very pleased with my mom’s life here and I greatly appreciate all that the entire staff does to keep Clara Barton a happy, busy and safe place for all of their residents.

Jyll, Christine and the entire staff at Heritage is the best you can find! They have kept their residents safe during the pandemic and have communicated with the families to keep them updated on the changing statuses. My father has lived in Assisted Living for a number of years and we could not be happier with the care and attention he has received. I am so thankful that Jyll has taken the necessary steps to keep her residents safe, even when those choices may not be popular. My father is a happy and healthy 90 year old, thanks to the care he has received at Heritage. Keep up the good work!!!

Approaching almost 5 years as a resident with my wife in the Independent Floor has been a wonderful experience. Apartment was very clean, freshly painted, new carpeting, spacious rooms. The cleaning dept was there vacuuming and mopping the common areas every day. Overall the Manager, Jyll B. and Christine A. have very professionally addressed this Corona Virus outbreak with care and concern beyond words. Also the staff including dietary do their utmost to help wherever they can to keep all the residents safe and cared for on a personal level. Everyone there should be given a medal for outstanding care! Anyone considering to have their loved ones live there will be truly happy with their decision

I looked at Heritage of Clara Barton. The room was big with a kitchen and a bathroom. It had everything. The cafeteria was huge with good food. They have a little room that has a TV, they got books to read, they have some arts and crafts, they play bingo, and they play cards. It is a nice place. I could go out and walk around. The staff was a nice person. I never tasted the food but I saw people enjoying their food. The place was nice and clean. They had like a gift shop, too.

I visited Heritage of Clara Barton, and my impression of them is outstanding. The nurses came out to see my brother today and I'm hoping we can get him over there. They have a theater, the residents were playing bingo one time, they have trips organized to go to different places. They go to Target, to church or they go to a casino once a month. They have a lot of different choices for food, and supposedly they have a really good chef. Everyone there seems happy, and they allow pets. The lobby is huge and very nice, with a fireplace. They have beautiful open area in the lobby, it goes to the second and third floor because it was an old school originally. It's very nice.

I had a positive impression of Heritage of Clara Barton. They had very helpful and friendly staff. The facility itself was nice, and the common areas were well-utilized. The food service seemed high quality, and the residents themselves seemed friendly. The rooms seemed like a good workable and adequate space for a single person.

Overall, the facility is better than most; I have had family members living there for approximately 4 years. They attend to their residents and do the best they can to keep them healthy and occupied. My family member, though easily depressed, believes the staff treats her well and with respect. I haven't observed anything to suggest otherwise. Her only complaints are with the cuisine; she said that it seems that the chefs frequently take the "leftovers" that don't get served throughout the week and make a casserole with them that's served on Fridays. She's described to me some of these casseroles in detail; they do not sound appetizing. There was one particular incident during December 2011 that I believe that they handled poorly. My family member received word shortly before Christmas that the facility suddenly canceled a family holiday party for the residents due to a "tragic death" at the facility. Our family member reported to us that the facility was crawling with law enforcement on the date that they received this announcement. For days, the facility would not release any information about the death to family or residents; while I realize that there are privacy concerns to take into account, it left us (and our family member resident) wondering whether someone had entered the facility and committed a crime or a staff member had committed a crime. We were concerned about everyone's safety, and it was just a few days before Christmas. It turned out that an elderly resident had killed his wife and himself with a gun and had been discovered several hours after it happened; that raised additional questions about why the resident had a firearm and how no staff members had heard a gunshot.
