My sister put my mother in St. Johns Place. I've visited her a few times and the facility is always clean. It's well maintained and it doesn't smell, and that was a big thing that surprised me because I know even in the best senior homes sometimes, patients can have accidents and it might take a while to get to them, but that's not the problem here because it never smells or anything. The employees are pretty pleasant. The ones that seem to know my mother are pretty nice to her. They're not the friendliest, but they're somewhat professional and very helpful. The social worker is extremely nice, and I love her. I'm just glad that it's clean and my mom seems to be taken care of. She had dropped a lot of weight and she has since bounced back from that, which is amazing. She has put back on some weight. When I asked her about the food, she said, "Not bad, they just don't give enough." She is diabetic, so it's good that they don't give her too much. The dining room is clean, spacious, and has a lot of tables. They were getting ready to serve ice cream to the residents at that time. It seems like they try to do little activities with them, which is pretty nice. The day I brought her back this past Saturday, they had something going on in the backyard. The building is dated, but at least it's clean. When mom first got there, she had the room to herself. It is a room made for two people, and she now has a roommate. It's no-frills. It's big enough for two beds and a little space in between the two. There's another room where the bathroom is and inside the bathroom are two curio cabinets and they have their names taped up to each one to indicate which is which. There isn't a shower in their room, and I've never seen where they shower. The bathroom has a sink, those two curio cabinets, and a toilet, and it's spacious. When I was there, one resident was kind of having a little meltdown and they were all on top of it. The people that I had to deal with were all pretty nice. They do things for them. My mom's hair was done when I saw her.

I definitely wouldn’t put my family member in this facility. Upon visiting on numerous occasions, the police was on premises. I have been told about a gun being on site and fighting in the halls amongst staff and people entering the building with ski mask on. I feel as though it not safe. The administrator is very arrogant and staff is very rude. Residence are not cared for properly. Please be aware. Don’t put your love in here.

If you really love your love ones whatever you do please do not send them to this place. My father was in alot of pain I went to the front desk and asked Antonia the nurse if she would give him something for pain she said when she get a chance. 15 min later she hadn't come. Rang the bell 10 min later she came with a very mean look on her face and said I told you I'd give it to him when I get a chance. She left out and 15 min later she came with the medicine. My father got really bad bed soars we would not have known that if my sister had not watch them change my dad. The aid looked real surprised like she didn't know he had them. It would take a long time for the nurses to change him. He would sit in his urine for hours. My father passed away in an unpleasant place. His last days were so uncomfortable. I jsbvt so much more to dry about this place but I'll stop right here.

I am frustrated with the options given for people who need long-term care, but this place was one of the worst we visited. It's beyond disorganized, the receptionist was too busy playing on her phone to greet us, tried to tour the facility and they were all over the place trying to figure out how to coordinate it. Wanted to talk to the bookkeeper and ask some basic questions, she was a lady-of-a-certain-age and seemed more like she belonged as a resident than an employee. Quick to talk over the top of us, not able to answer simple questions without becoming visibly frustrated, and in the meantime someone poked their head in and said "so-and-so [a vendor of some sort] is about to cut us off too". All that did was solidify that this is an unprofessional and poorly run facility, which apparently is having financial difficulties because their services are being cut off. There is NO WAY I would subject any one I love to this facility. This is run by the same family as Bentley's Extended Care so beware of both. The owners are brothers and seem to be cashing in on the growing elderly population. It's shameful.

First when you visit patients are just sitting in the lobby with no activities, no television or anything. Nursing staff are all at the desk no one making rounds on the floor. I noticed when I went to get my friend for a outing she had none of her clothes everything had someone else's name on it. When I inquired as to where her clothes were I was told to check the laundry and if they weren't there maybe they were mistakenly taken to another patient's room. I noticed a patient calling for help and staff just stated to each other she doesn't want anything.

My aunt is in St. John’s Place, and it has been horrible. I did not put her in there, but some people, who were posing as her family members, admitted her there over a year ago. I don’t have anything good to say about them whatsoever. She has a semi-private home. People are wandering all over. They have very lowly staff, and there is one good nurse out of all of them. You call there and ask to talk to the administrator or the book keeper, and nobody ever calls back. I have not seen the director of nursing when I’ve been down there to visit in probably 10 months' time. They haven’t had a hairdresser or anyone on staff to do their clients’ hair for a year. They bathe them once a week, but it's questionable how they do it.

St. John’s Place is a smaller facility, and we like it because the patient and the staff know each other. Their nursing center is right in the middle of the floor so they can watch every isle. The staff deals quite well with the residents, and anything that goes wrong with my mom -- even the least of problem that she has -- they call us, and I appreciate that. The room has two beds, and she was able to bring her personal drawers, furniture from home, and some of the chairs that she liked. They have breakfast, social hour, and crafts almost every day. They have an on-site beauty salon, barbershop, and Bible class. At lunch time, they have one of their workers who plays the piano, and they will sing along with that. When you walk-in, it doesn’t smell. I was impressed.

St. John's Place offer all the things that I wanted for my mom. They made the process pretty easy. Some of the staff are really good, and others are just there for a paycheck. The rooms are good size. The food is OK, and mom likes most of the food. They do not have many activities I've seen so far. They could improve on having more daily activities for the residents and a more attentive staff.
Great to my parents

Awesome care and professional staff. My parents have been there twice and all of the family were very satisfied with the care they received. They received therapy and were discharged as promised to home, back to their previous level of functioning. I am very grateful for the compassion that was given to my mom who suffers from chronic pain. I visited daily and not once did the place have an odor. I was able to ask questions and receive answers to every question. Discharge planning was well in advance which let us to prepare mom and dad's home for their return. I was notified of everything. The social worker, director of nursing and the administrator were readily available anytime I needed them. The social worker even gave us her cell phone number in the case of an emergency. The nursing staff and housekeeping staff were helpful and made my parents fell comfortable.
Very pleased 2

I have had 3 family members at St. John's Place. Everyone was so helpful and kind to my mom, dad and aunt. A staff member stayed with my aunt until family could arrive so she would not die alone. My family always had the same caregiver and the owners and family were there everyday and greeted us every time we arrived. Any problems were addressed immediately and the DON was upfront with me regarding expectations of care and helped with not only my family's adjustment but my own adjustment to living in a long term care facility. I would place another relative there in a heartbeat. Excellent care.

DO NOT PUT YOUR FAMILY IN HERE!!!!! This place has horrible care. My mom was in here for exactly one week and we pulled her out of there because the care was so terrible. Staff and OWNER does not care about the people there, they are rough with them, they are rude to them and the nursing care is very sub standard. BEWARE!!!

DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVE ONE IN THIS FACILITY. BEWARE. Upon first meeting the Administrator, he made the facility seem so caring and family oriented. It's the complete opposite. My relative was in St. John's Place a few months before I got feed up and reported them to the State. They kept promising he would see the podiatrist, but never did. His toenails got to an unhealthy length. The toilet in his room was full of feces for three days straight and was nonfunctioning the following week. Being visually impaired, the staff would sit his meals on his table without telling him what he was eating or assisting with eating. There was a bandage put on his shin for an injury that I was never notified about with a date of 9/20, when I saw him on 9/26, the bandage had not been changed (I took photos and sent to the State). I would notify the Administrator regarding each of these events, however, he had such a cavalier attitude and nothing was urgent. The staff is unprofessional and lacks compassion. The charge nurse hung up the phone on me on two separate occasions. My relative advised that the staff was stealing his candy. The nurses’ station was never manned with staff. Calls light were constantly on. Charge nurses could not answer routine question from families or troubleshoot any situation and would ALWAYS refuse to contact the D.O.N. or Administrator after hours. The D.O.N. was so unpleasant. No staff member ever greeted me when I came in. On the night shift, you can usually find about half the nurses on the patio smoking and socializing. The website claims to take the residents on outings and having so many activities. I have never witnessed an activities or been notified on an outing. Don't put your love one in this facility or their sister property, The Bentley.
