The reason why we originally chose Senior Star at Villa Ventura was because of the location; it was close to where my bother's house was. The other thing was that they were very good in calling us right away. When we were looking around before, we had trouble getting people to call us back. The people are so friendly and helpful there. It's a nice room that he has; he has a sliding glass door and a deck so he can get a lot of sunshine and fresh air coming in. They were just extremely helpful about him moving in to this place, what with not bringing furniture with him and setting him up for things. And when he needs something, they have somebody who would go out like twice a week to pick up things for people who need a few groceries or something. I haven't tried the food myself, but he seems pleased with it. Once in a while he doesn't like something, but in general, he's quite happy with it. He's very excited about all the different activities that they do.

My mother is moving into Senior Star at Villa Ventura. It had everything she needed in one building. They would provide 3 square meals a day, and then they had soup and salad all day available. It had a hair salon. It had a community. It had an activities director, and they would take 8 to 10 residents to the grocery store until they were all done and then take them home. They wouldn't drop off several groups of people all around town and then rotate back to pick them up. They would wait there for the group, and my mom liked that security. The staff was very nice. Kim even came out to meet with Mom, answered all her questions individually, and helped her fill out all of the paperwork. The dietary staff and housekeeping staff have all been there for a significant amount of time. They were very friendly and helpful with the residents. It was a very nice experience with the staff. They've been very good. The front desk was always manned 24/7. If the residents have a question or an urgent situation, there's always somebody manning the phones for their safety. Everything seemed very clean. There were alarms in the rooms. They offered a personal alarm for Mom to wear if she fell or something. Mom wanted a ceiling fan administered and they got that done in 2 days. And if we wanted more safety issues like more bars in the showers, they were happy to do that. The rooms were very clean and updated.

Kim was the lady that we talked to at Senior Star at Villa Ventura and toured us. She was lovely and she worked well with us. It's a nice facility. No doubt about it. It was beautiful. It's got beautiful grounds, especially. It's on the pricey side, but I think they're all expensive now. They had a variety of rooms and you would have to bring your furniture. The great thing about that was it had a patio door in the room and they allowed pets. My friend's a smoker so he needed someplace where he could just step out and not have to go down the hall, around the corner, and all that. So I would recommend that for smokers because there are not that many places out there that take smokers. Another great thing about it was there wasn't one dining room. Each floor had its own dining. So, you're not expecting the elderly to take an elevator down and walk down the halls. Their food was provided very close to the rooms in a small dining room setting. So, I was very impressed with that place. I really was. It was fantastic and a nice place.

I went to look at Senior Star at Villa Ventura. I loved the person that I dealt with during the tour. She was very professional, kind, and caring. The facility itself is gorgeous. I like the activities and the way they have things laid out for the people. I met the different staff members. Everybody was friendly, courteous, and very approachable.

I toured Senior Star at Villa Ventura. Their prices were very reasonable. For less than what I would be paying for a studio at another facility, I could have afforded their a one-bedroom deluxe. It is a very nice unit with excellent closet space. It has very long storage, a coat closet in the living room, and a walk-in closet in the bedroom. The floor plans online show that it only has a kitchenette, but some of the units also have a stove, an oven, and a space for a microwave. I told them they should update their website because not all the units have that capability, but they have a number of them that either have a cooktop or a microwave. The living room and the bedroom were very nice sized. It's really good value for your money. However, it's a little bit far out, and I would be changing states, which would mean new driver's license and new license. It's quite far away from my current medical providers. I have a cardiologist and an internist that I really like and have been with for a long time, but having to change medical providers with all my health conditions wasn't my preference. So it has nothing to do with the unit, it was more the location. They provide two meals a day. They don't have a pool, but they will give you a membership to one close by, and they offer transportation if you want that. The laundry was not in the unit that I looked at, but it was nearby. They didn't have any garages or carports. It was all open parking, which is kind of an unfortunate thing. They have internet, they have weekly housekeeping and emergency pull cords, and their pet charge is a little bit less than other places. The woman who did the tour was completely engaging. She was very helpful and very friendly, while still being professional.

The tour of Senior Star at Villa Ventura was great. It was an older facility, but the staff was great. We looked at one room that had been remodeled. It was great. We also looked at another room that had not yet been remodeled, which I would rate lower than the remodeled one. The person who gave the tour was super. The staff spent a lot of time with us, walked us all around the facility, and showed us a lot of different room options. Our kids came, and they put up with our kids and entertained them. They were just great and super friendly. I saw their menu and the food, but we did not try it. We saw a list of their activities, but we didn't see an actual activity. Even though the building was older and not as well-kept, their staff was so exceptional. They realized that could use some updates, and they are working on them.

Overall, I wasn't as impressed with the rooms at Senior Star at Villa Ventura. The kitchen areas were very small. They got kitchenettes instead of full kitchens, but they were very accommodating. My mom would like a walk-in tub, and they said that they could certainly have that put in and that there would be no problem at all. So, I was really happy to know that. One thing I liked about them was their interaction with their residents and the activities that they have planned for them. They seemed very engaged. I think of all the places that I visited, I was very impressed at how active their residents were around the facility. Even the director sat down with me and asked, "What does your dad like to do? What does your mom like to do? Let's see if we can figure out something that they would like to do." My dad likes to go outside and dabble around the garden and they said they would figure out a way where they can make a committee or something where he can be part of the groundskeeping or something for the facility. They were really on spot about engaging their residents in a way that no other facility that I have visited did. I was just really impressed with that. The lady who toured me around was very nice, very knowledgeable, and very proud of her facility. You could tell that she was very happy with the place. She stopped along our tour several times and spoke with the residents. I also got to sit down with the residents and talked to them a little bit about the place and what they liked about it. That was nice and she showed me a variety of different rooms to choose from. It was just an older facility, but it's well-maintained and it's in a wonderful setting. It backs up against the park there which gives it a nice setting. I liked it.

Senior Star at Villa Ventura was very nice. The people that welcomed me were professional and patient. When I asked a lot of questions, they gave me so much information. Once you come in, they have signs that masks are required. I had a mask on, but they offered me a brand new one, which thought that was very good.

My mother will be moving into Senior Star at Villa Ventura. It's the best for her overall for the assistance that she needs. I like the cleanliness, friendliness of the staff, and just the comfort levels. It's not the most current, but everything is clean, and it's exactly what my mom needs. She is going into level two assisted living. They have activities that are great for her. They have what she needs, but for somebody going into senior living, they are going to be looking for some different amenities. It's easy to get to, and it's only about 20 minutes from where I live.

Senior Star at Villa Ventura is very nice, but it's a little bit over my budget. The apartments are just so small, that's what I'm worried about, because I have a lot of stuff to get rid off. The staff is very nice, very friendly, and very good. You come in and there's a parking lot. Right now, you have to wait for somebody to let you in the door, which happens everywhere. The place looked very good and very clean.

At 89, Mom picked Villa Ventura's Independent Living from a "short list" of independent and continuing care communities. The room size, 1 BDR+, has a great view, is bright and cheery, and the closet space is fantastic, not only for clothes, but storage. (Her chest of drawers fits there, along with a myriad of items!) The benefit of weekly housekeeping, including changing bedding and washing linens & towels, is Terrific! And, having 2 GREAT, YUMMY meals in the monthly service - Fantastic! Staff is tops! There is longevity among the ranks of business manager, housekeeping, activities, dining hall, and front desk. This bodes well, and the camaraderie I feel among staff each time I visit is genuine. At first, mom did not need any help. But, she has been able to age in place given the added benefit of Interim Home Health, an independent service within the building. This, to me, is an overlooked benefit. You don't have to pay a fortune for extra help. You can pay a la carte, only for those helpful services needed. Mom's independence is extremely valuable to her. It also keeps her sharp. For her, this is much better than an all inclusive community. We feel mom is Safe and we know she is Happy living in "The Double V"!

It did not work out with Senior Star at Villa Ventura. We went there briefly but my friend was very depressed and he ended up calling the suicide hotline. The community ended up sending him to the hospital and they didn't want him to come back after that. He was there for assisted living. I thought the staff was pretty good. The people that I met seemed concerned about delivering good care and they seemed competent. The staff might have been sparse, but I think they're pretty good. His accommodations there was fine; it was pretty much what you get in places like that. This community is good for people who are pretty self-contained and able to entertain themselves, or those who are able to socialize on their own or don't need socialization. My friend kind of felt isolated in his room. Because the place is spread out and it's big, the activities involve long distances to get to. So somebody needs to be pretty mobile to live there. He was pretty mobile but he couldn't get to every part of the building.

Senior Star at Villa Ventura had a lot more activities and a room for exercise and rehab facility. They had a lot of sections. It was clean. I liked the dining room, and it looked like the people there knew each other. The staff was welcoming, immediately got information to me, and even went to my house.

We visited Senior Star at Villa. The staff member was very nice, very outgoing, and friendly. I liked them very much. The place was fine. It was very nice without the elegance. It didn't have extensive artwork on the wall or any other elegant features like that. They were very helpful, but there seemed to be some limitations in terms of the facilities. We had lunch there, and the food was fine.

We chose Senior Star at Villa Ventura because my friend can smoke in his room. It's lovely and has a lot of bling. It's an older community, but it is well kept and nicely furnished. There are activities going on all the time. Residents can go places and do dinner theaters. They go everywhere and do everything; they're not bored. The dining room is lovely upstairs. I've had good food there. The staff is very friendly. They seem to give the residents good care. However, I would like to see more nursing staff in the assisted living area. They have an RN and LPNs, but I think in assisted living, they could use a few more nursing staff instead of just CNAs.

Senior Star at Villa Ventura was beautiful. It was very clean and the accommodations were excellent. They have excellent and very knowledgeable staff. They have a variety of different activities going on, even on Sundays. They showed us a couple of their apartments and they were fantastic. The rooms were nice-sized, walker-accessible, and had very nice views.

Senior Star at Villa Ventura was very nice, and I met someone I know who lives there; we went to her room, and it was really nice. I talked to several people living there, and they love being there and all talk really highly of it. The apartments were bigger than in most places, and I like them better. They had a library, a big organized room, a lunch room, and a party room. They have church service, and they go to certain places twice a week and dinner theater once a month.

We visited Villa Ventura. It’s an old facility but very nice and taken care of well. The manager of the facility was extremely nice and willing to open the doorways for my friend's wheelchair when we went to see rooms. She liked it, and they have found a one-bedroom unit that would be very suitable for her, but it was more money than at the place she ended up choosing by about $1,000 more a month. Their dining area was large with a salad bar in the middle where you can get salad at any time and a menu that you can order from. They have a nice computer and a library area. It was our second choice, and I would recommend this place.

The staff is amazing and everyone is friendly at Senior Star at Villa Ventura. My mother's apartment is always clean. She really likes it there, and she is able to keep her pet. The food is excellent. You have to sign in if you're going to visit someone and the outside doors are locked. I feel that she is very safe there.

Villa Ventura just seems like a good fit. It has nice people. The food is good, and it is clean. They have a lot of activities for those who can walk and get around. They also have bingo, and they have a pub where they have happy hours. They take trips to Red Bridge. The rooms seem nice. They provide two meals a day. They have housekeeping once a week. She changes the sheets and mops the floor. The only bad part so far has been the heat situation because they went from heat to air conditioning last April, and there have been days where it has been very cold and you cannot get heat.

My mother is now in Villa Ventura (Senior Star at Villa Ventura). When we walked in, we immediately felt comfortable. It is cozy. The staff introduced themselves to us. Everybody has been so friendly to my mother. We are 100% happy with her new home. Her room has neutral colors. It is in an adequate size for one person. The kitchen is all that she needs. It is small, but functional. The best part for us is that she has a deck overlooking the woodland, and it is large enough to have four chairs and a small table. It has a relaxing view at her window, and her bathroom is handicap accessible. It is not huge, but for one person, that's all she needs. She is able to participate in all of the activities. She is very private, but she is attending the Christmas activities. They have speakers come in, and she attends some of those. They have happy hours every other day, and she makes it to that every other day. We are just very thrilled with Villa Ventura. I cannot say enough about the staff. They are all wonderful, and they care about my mother as an individual. We are trying to refer people to Villa Ventura.

Villa Ventura has been everything that I could hope for. They provide meals, and they have good food there. I have actually eaten there myself. The staff is very impressionable, and everybody makes you feel like you matter when you come up there. The price seemed affordable, and it is closer to where I live.

My mom is at Senior Star at Villa Ventura and it's a great facility. She has a small one bedroom with an outstanding view of the Courtyard. The staff were helpful and they respond in a timely fashion. It's a very secured community, considering it is independent living.

The good thing about Senior Star is the transportation and the medical staff. The staff has been very good to me. The food is OK. The rooms to me are small. They have 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, studio, and there's a size below the studio, but I don't know what to call it.

My mother lives at Villa Ventura. She fought senior living for many years, but continued to have falls at home and we needed a safer more secure environment for her. She has now made many friends at Villa and is happier then I've seen her in a long time, which I attribute to the other residents, a strong sense of community and a supportive and loving staff, who always greet her by name. Mom spends time in her apartment and on her deck in the spring and fall, and participates in the activites when she wants to, and there are many to choose from. They take her wherever she needs to go, at no additional charge. One thing I like about Villa is they don't "nickle and dime" you with a lot of additional, unexpected charges, so it is easy to create and work with a yearly budget. Villa is older, but they always have major improvements planned, such as recently replacing all the decks in the community and it is well maintained. The grounds are beautiful and it is close to health care and shopping. We are now breathing a sigh of relief as mom is healthy and happy. I would not hesitate to refer any of my friends and family members to Villa Ventura.

My Mom lives at Villa Ventura and she likes it there. She has made many new friends and she participates in the activities that are provided. There are activities daily to participate in. They have entertainment weekly and on special days they have family festivals. They will accomodate the residents by taking them on shopping trips and will also take then to the Dr. or therapy when they need it. The facility has been updated with new carpeting and other new features. The grounds are beautiful with flowers, trees and shrubs. Each room has a balcony that are being updated too! Mom doesn't have any trouble getting around with her cane. The residents do not have to use stairs so the people with walkers and canes and wheel chairs can get around with ease. There are also elevators for their use. The people that work in Villa Ventura are very kind and helpful! They want to please their residents and work hard to achieve that goal. I would recommend this retirement communityI Mom is happy at Villa Ventura!
