My parents are residents of Pomeroy Living Rochester Independent Living. There is just one area they struggle with, and that's the food service. They lack the resources to prepare and serve the food in a timely manner. No complaints about the staff. My parents have said on several occasions that they like the people who work there. They're caring, generous, and kind - everything that folks who work in those kinds of places need to be. So that's been good. The quality of the food has been fine; it's just the food service that's been the issue. They have a small library, a small gym, an outdoor space, and non-stop activities. We chose them because of the location of the facility, the location of the apartment in the complex, and the outdoor space.

This facility is for people that are mostly independent though their is staff that can be hired to help with personal care. Our housekeeping staff though depleted from COVID is excellent and friendly. I found the meals mostly tasty and good quality, but that is a personal option not all palates are the same. The serving staff is friendly and helpful, including cutting my meat when I broke a hand. The Activity staff are friendly and helpful. While COVID has changed our more intimate programs says per county guide lines staff has kept us entertained, well fed whether in dining room or in apartment, and always showing interest and concern. I am excited to see what Pomeroy can do post COVID.

I would never recommend you take your loved one to this facility. The staff is very rude and disrespectful to our loved one. They take an eternity answering call lights and will make your loved ones sit in their urine or stool. Medication is not given in a timely manner. If you make a complaint or talk to administrators you are fooled into believing things will change. If they do change for a day or two the staff goes right back to their ways. They are in the midst of remodeling, creating a false impression of their facility. They are attempting to make the public think that this is a beautiful state of the art place. The motto here is the staff comes first, not the patient. It would be a big mistake allowing Pomeroy living to take care of your loved one.

My mother is a resident of Pomeroy Living Rochester, and it's excellent. The staff is excellent, and they also have a lot of services that you can hire to support them in their individual apartments without having to move into a different facility, so that's very good. It has a very good living atmosphere, it's very positive, and there are a lot of activities and social interactions. They have a movie theater, a choir, a lot of card games, they also have shopping, and short day trips. They have a very nice dining area, and the food is good.
