We went to Michigan Masonic Home for my husband's parents. We looked there about a year ago, and it was absolutely beautiful. We looked at the assisted living part, and everything was first rate and very nice. They had beautiful facilities and great staff. We just visited for the day, walked around, and saw all the different examples of apartments that they had. Then we ate a meal there. Because of the pandemic, his mother was never able to go there because they were not accepting new residents. And by the time she could go there, she couldn't. And then she passed away. The food we had was very good that day. The staff were very helpful and very knowledgeable. I thought the rooms were professionally laid out. They had apartments and then they had rooms, and they were very well done. They had a beautiful chapel, different restaurants, and three different dining rooms. They have lots of activities for the residents, and I was overwhelmed by all of the nice grounds, activities, and all the things they had. They have a library and an in-house health clinic, and they bring doctors into the clinic, which was very nice. They have specialists there, so that was good. Everything about it was very well done. I just can't say enough good about it. The lady who took us all over knew all about the rates for each room and layout. She was very knowledgeable. If you're affiliated with the Masons, they have a better rate for you, of course, because it's through Masonic Pathways and the Masons. It was very, very clean. They have three or four floors. They have a skilled nursing unit, too, but we didn't see that because at the time my in-laws felt that they didn't need that. They just wanted to be in the assisted living part. They have all levels of care. They have independent, assisted and then total care. They even have their little version of a fast-food place, and that's where we ate. It was really good.

Mom and Dad lived at Masonic Pathways. It was a phenomenal place. It was very expensive, but the home was excellent. It didn’t look like an assisted living home when I first walked in. My dad actually passed away in hospice there. They gave him very good care. It was too big of a home for my mom all by herself. That is why she moved out. They both received excellent care while living there. The place had a restaurant and grill that was open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and residents could order whatever they wanted.

Masonic Pathways was first-rate. My father really liked it there. I also liked the work they did with him. He was in an environment with people rehabbing him so he could go back into his own house. The atmosphere was very pleasant for him, too. It was probably the nicest place I've ever seen. I didn't hear him complain about the food. He was really pleased that the insurance covered their services. Our experience was just very satisfactory. The only thing I didn't like was that he could not get a good Internet connection. He's hearing impaired and needed the Internet for his special phone. However, everything was excellent, and it was homey.

My dad is very happy at Masonic Pathways. They made him feel very welcome. The staff made sure that he eats three meals a day. They also do therapy on him; some physical and some mental. They have doctors, dentist, and ophthalmologist on site. They have a menu in which there's a whole lot of food to choose from. I am very pleased with them knowing that my dad will be taken good care of.

While this is one of the most asthetically pleasing facilities we visited, due to it's large size, multiple ammenities, and backing by the Masonic Fraternity, the care simply not as top notch as the physical building. My mother stayed in the nursing section. I thought that because it has 200+ beds, it must be a good, "well-oiled machine" so to speak. Unfortunately, that proved not to be the case. In fact, I think the sheer volume of residents and constantly "floating" staff made her care less personal. It was difficult to learn the staffs' names and get items of concern followed up on. Nothing serious went wrong, mind you, but the little things took much longer to be resolved than I felt they should. So, while it was nice to be able to take mom to the on-site cafe, gift shop, or one of two beauty shops, I think the nursing care itself left something to be desired.

This home provides excellent care & individualized services based on the needs of each of it's residents. The home is well-maintained. Many on site activities & services are provided. There is always something to do & the food choices are great. It is a beautiful, comfortable & friendly place to live!

My grandmother was brought to this facility about two years ago. She was suffering from Alzheimer's. It broke my heart to have to put her somewhere like that, because I knew it wasn't what she wanted. She was so independent, and this just killed her to have to give in to other people doing things for her. The first time I went to visit her, I couldn't wait to bash the place, mostly because I thought it was what my grandma wanted to hear. The second I pulled up, though, I had nothing but wonderful thoughts. The community is adorable, to say the least. The staff made me feel so comfortable, and although they helped my grandma out in so many ways, they made her feel like she was independent and able to do things for herself. My grandma has always been a wonderful cook, and even SHE admitted that the food wasn't bad at all! Best of all, though, is that the staff took the time to sit down with me as I was leaving and explain how my grandma was doing. They were compassionate and understood why this was hard on not only my grandma, but on me as well. I would absolutely recommend this place to family looking for a safe, loving haven for their loved ones.

Having volunteered and having a relative as a resident at this home, I can say that I have a positive view of this establishment. The interior is very clean, bright and friendly. Staff are mostly competent; however, a hiccup does occur every now and again. Masonic Pathways Senior Living Services are very flexible about allowing guests and volunteers in, which enhances the general environment. The care equipment seems to look near-new for everything that I've seen so far. The building is well-staffed, activities are planned for those looking for more, and animals are brought in to bring a smile to the faces of residents. Aside from sparse minor day-to-day errors, this is a quality living center.
