"My mother is in Healthsource-Saginaw, and that's where she is going to be until the end of her life. She has been there since the end of January. We liked it because the staff is friendly. It's a nice place, airy, clean, and well taken care of. The buildings themselves are only seven years old or so. The food is good. She does not complain too much. She has a decent sized room with a chest, drawers, and some of her own things in there. She got a private bathroom and shower, but she needs assistance with that. I've seen other nursing homes, and this is a pretty decent one. "

"The staff does an excellent job making sure each patient's need is being met in a timely manner. I stayed for over a month for rehabilitation and would recommend this facility for anyone in need of care of permanent living. "

"My brother stayed at Caretel Inns of Tri-cities. The place is beautiful with nice and clean rooms. He said that the food was good. As far as I know, everything went fine. He was there for therapy and did well, so they released him. "

"My grandmother is in The Colonnades. It is a great experience for her. She is very happy. We were concerned that she was not going to happy and she wasn't going to like it, but she really likes it. One of the big things is that she is more active, and they actually have outings, and she's enjoying going on outings. That is great too. I think the rooms are pretty big. It has a nice living area, a really big bathroom, and a really big separate bedroom. So, I think they are a good size for the price. She is a very picky eater and she says the food is very good. I picked her up one day and she was eating salmon, and they had apple cake and it looked really yummy. I didn't taste it, but it looked good. I think that the one thing that I like about The Colonnades is that it really brought back my grandmother's independence and her being able to go out in the community again because from last June until she was placed there, she wasn't able to go out as much. So, I really like the fact that she is able to go out and to the casino like she used to in the past. I think the atmosphere is great. It is very well kept up and very clean. It seems all the other residents are happy. I do have one suggestion, and she complained about it one time. They can only take so many people who are in a wheelchair for outings, and she has to hurry up and rush to have her name on the list because there's always one person who's on the list before her. "

"I was a recent patient at Bay Shores Care Center. After seeing my room I was amazed on how large it was. I had a private bathroom, and was furnished like it was my bedroom at home. I was welcomed by the staff and they showed genuine care about my injury. All the staff members were kind and reassuring. The Physical and Occupational therapists were excellent. They were kind and challenged me on a daily basis to learn new things so my recovery would be easier. The meals were delicious and they served a nice varity of food. Every day had activities from Polka music to Bingo. I would highly recommed Bay Shores for anyone who would their services weather it for you or a loved one. from room 108 Hazel"

"The staff of Wellspring Lutheran Services was wonderful to my mom. They were very, very kind to her, and I felt they took good care of her, but it also took family like my sister and I to take care of her too and to make sure all her needs were met. The food was pretty good. They had a cook and sometimes even the people who work in the kitchen would bring a recipe to work and make the recipe for the people there for a treat, like during strawberry season, they would make a whole bunch of homemade strawberry pie or something. They would do special things like that for the people who were there, and I thought that was really great. "

"My husband is at Tendercare Health Care. They're caring. They have good therapists. We got 90% cooperation, and that's very good. His room is adequate. Food has been very good. We picked this facility because it is close to my home. I have heard about them, so we decided to try it, and so far, it is fine right now. "

"When my father had an extended hospital stay for COPD, that left him very weak, he needed an inpatient rehabilitation facility to help him get strong enough to be able to go home again. He stayed for five weeks at Stratford and was able to eventually return home. We had visited three area facilities before making our choice, and really liked Stratford Village Nursing Home, so we chose to place my father in that facility.My mother and I ate several meals there with my father, and the food was very good. The staff was friendly, even when my father got agitated and lashed out with some harsh words at times. Their response time, when my father pushed his call light, was rather slow (roughly 10 to 12 minutes each time), and the doctor was only there once a week, and doctors took turns, so the times when the doctor would be there varied, which made it very difficult to talk to the doctor if you had a question or problem, because you never knew when they would be there.Also, the doctors and the six residents took turns providing care at Stratford, so each one would have to have each patient repeat their history when they would see them on their week, because it was a different doctor almost every week, so the continuity of care was broken. I found it odd that any patient in the clinic or hospital affiliated with this nursing home would have both the resident and their supervising physician caring for the patient; whereas, at the nursing home, the resident physicians were allowed to see the patients without the supervising physician present, making one think that the nursing home patients are not as important as other patients.The staff did not bathe my father very often, and we had to request that they bathe him at least twice a week, after we found out that he had gone two weeks without a bath. The physical therapists were really good. They did a nice job in working with him and getting him strong enough to go back home to be with his family. My father did not like the fact that the social worker at the nursing home would hold meetings with him every other week and kept telling him he was depressed, when he was really just sad that he could not be home with his family. My father's mental capacity was fine, and he did fine on the all the tests for depression they would have him fill out, but the social worker still kept telling him she thought he was depressed.All in all, I still think Stratford Village was the best of the three facilities we toured and that we made the correct choice in placing him there. They did achieve the goal of getting him back home to be with our family, where he was able to stay for five more weeks until he passed away. We think the care my father received there was good care, and, we recommended it to my uncle, who is there now. "

"We went straight to the care facility the hospital sent my mother-in-law. She has been in Bay County for about a month, and they are doing a great job. She is in a full care facility. I think they are doing a fine job there. The facility is very nice and clean. You walk in, and there is no odor. She is taken care of very well there. The management appears to be very caring as well. "

"Brittany Manor's people are very caring, even some of the nurses and aides who aren't working that particularly day with my husband would come in and say hi to them. The rooms are quite clean, nice, and spacious. I was surprised because I thought they'd be a little bit smaller. The location is fine and the grounds looked nice, with a fence so people who can walk and want to go outside are able to. They actually give people a choice of what they can eat. The food looks appealing and if I want to eat, they'd bring me a tray of whatever the others are eating. The place is gorgeous."

"I brought my mom to Huron Woods, post brain surgery. She was treated with dignity, as a person, with such compassionate loving care by ALL from the admitting person to the administrative director to nursing to maintenance. They spoke to her, thanked her, cleaned her gently, dressed her with love and made her "pretty" . What I noted most of all.... ALL patients were treated with the same compassion and care by ALL the staff. I can't thank them enough. They are a God send. Oh, yes..the facility is beautiful too. But most of all so are the people who work there. "

"They treated her well. Treated our family nice. They gave the kids icecream. The place was quiet with good security. They put her in the newly remodeled section. She had a nice tv and large bathroom. The bed was an electric adjustable. They were opened untill late at night. They had two slot machines that were broke. Their decor was simple but colorful and they always had fresh flowers in the place. Their personal restaurant had great food! We ate thanksgiving dinner there. "
