"My wife was here. It was for respite care. The size is good because it's small. They're a pretty close group. The staff was very good. Their food was excellent. The cleanliness was good. It's reasonably new; it's not an old place or anything. For activities, they played cards and bingo. My wife enjoyed it; she thought it was nice. The layout was good. The rooms weren't as big as some of the other ones, but you're not in there that much. The atmosphere was very friendly."

"In the 68 years that I have been alive, I have never found a place that has better customer service. Every, and I mean every single person we interacted with was amazing. Due to my mother’s illness we visited all hours of the day and night and never had any problems or concerns with the staff. The building is very clean, free of odors and feels like home. We have never seen any residents that look unhappy or not cared for. The activities that take place are so wonderful, and family is able to join in. Dezarae, Kathy and Loren are so reassuring with the medications and take the time to know who the residents are. The food is wonderful, if mom wanted a grilled cheese or egg sandwich in place of a meal, it was not an issue. The housekeeper Katlynn was so kind and made sure to interact with mom when cleaning the room. We loved the layout of the apartment and that she could have a bird feeder outside of her window. Yes, they are expensive, however so are luxury vehicles. I am old enough to know that you get what you pay for. "

"We visited Vassar Fields, and it seemed very good. There were people my parents knew who were living there so they were considering it at that time. They had arts and crafts and bingo. They had a room where people could come in, have popcorn, and watch movies and shows. They also have entertainment coming in from the outside. We visited the assisted living part, and I noticed that the independent living places seemed to be larger compared to the assisted living ones. They also didn't have a full kitchen. It was more of a room with a bathroom like a hotel suite, which is nice, but it didn't have kitchen facilities. The facility is also older."

We provide care from the very beginning all the way to the end. Our building welcomes third party companies to come in and provide whatever care that is needed, resident choice of course on what ever company you choose. We also welcome animals. "Our father was a resident at the Sheffield. It was Beautiful inside including the rooms and it was always clean. We were so happy with our dad‘s care. The staff was amazing and they were so loving towards all the residents. I highly recommend Sheffield if you are looking for a place for your loved one. We can’t say enough about our whole experience at Sheffield. We have 6 children in our family and we all loved everything about this place! "

"First thing my husband noticed was the cleanliness of the facility. Staff was was great. My father-in-law was only there for tow and a half months but they celebrated his 100th birthday! So very pleased with his healing and physical and occupational therapy. I will highly recommend them!"

"Bay Valley AFC Inc is like two blocks from my house. So that was a big factor in choosing it for my mom. I would highly recommend it. They let us come in at any time for visits. We can spend the night. They have home-cooked meals. They're just very caring to my mom and other people. They have church, bingo, they have singing groups, and they do their laundry right here for them. They are always friendly and always warm. They are always very open to anything that we talk about. They allow me to help my mom, and I bring my dog. It's a home, not just an assisted living. They will make her special things if she wants, like she gets hot cocoa every time she asks for it. They will allow us to come in as a family and use the kitchen. I'm very pleased. It's good just to be able to walk in and not smell urine smells and feces smells. It's very clean. The staff is always available to help. I thought my mom was going to be a lot of work for them, and they're like, "She's one of the easier residents," so I was very thankful for that. It is homier than the others. They allowed us to bring in a fish tank for my mom."

"I visited Close To Home Assisted Living which was a remodeled school. It's kind of an average place. The staff members were pretty good and they were quite helpful in giving us the tour. They have a courtyard and lawns, and they have places where you could walk out like balconies. The upkeep and cleanliness were also average. It's located near restaurants and a hospital."

"My mom was in Caretel Inns of Tri-Cities. The food was outstanding, and their gourmet chef was better than any restaurant in town. Family members that visit got to eat there and it only costs $5. That food would cost $25 in a restaurant. A lot of the patients allow their family members to eat with them, and it's a very positive thing. Her room was nice, it was very bright, very decorated, not as large as the others, but it looked homey, and it looked like they cared about you. They had Bingo, trivia night, a little movie theater, exercises, and they played Euchre. They had tons of stuff to do. They also had a state of the art physical and occupational therapy."

"I visited Close To Home Assisted Living Hampton. I thought there were too many people in wheelchairs for my dad and that might upset him because he's pretty mobile. They didn't seem to be outstanding. It's a little bit older and remodeled. The staff is about average, they seem to be pretty busy that particular day. They were confused as to who's supposed to show us around. It was kind of a mediocre place in terms of the facilities and cleanliness. It was fairly clean there when we went. It was kind of early in the morning, so they might have been kind of busy with the people who live there. There are restaurants nearby."

"New Hope Bay has provided my mom with a great sense of community. She’s now engaged, active and thriving in her senior years. New Hope Bay staff helped her find friends, activities and develop a flourishing lifestyle. The staff is friendly, kind and ensures she is well cared for. This transition was a very difficult decision for my mom and a huge adjustment for her. New Hope Bay staff and nurses could not have made the transition better or easier. Her new living accommodations are spacious and beautiful. Our family couldn’t be happier with our decision to place our mom in New Hope Bay."
