My wife is a resident of Bickford of Midland. The staff is excellent. They're very compassionate. My observation of the food, without tasting it, it looks like it's well prepared. It's made on that site in the facility, so I think they do a pretty good job. Some of the meals she has come in and she likes very much. The rooms themselves are nice. They come in different sizes. The facility itself has a very large dining area, and kind of a central area for people to meet and visit, and a nice outdoor garden, and very nice grounds. It's pretty new and well-kept.

I toured Bickford of Midland for my mother-in-law. The community was okay, and the overall tour experience was good. The staff did well. I liked the rooms; they were nice. I just didn't feel accommodated. They seemed like they were doing their job, but they were not overly warm. The place was clean and nice. They have patios and a courtyard, and they were nice.

Bickford of Midland was clean and accommodating. The staff knew what they were doing, but they were just doing their job. They seemed very nice. Their food was better. They didn't look just packaged. They were standard food items.

In the 68 years that I have been alive, I have never found a place that has better customer service. Every, and I mean every single person we interacted with was amazing. Due to my mother’s illness we visited all hours of the day and night and never had any problems or concerns with the staff. The building is very clean, free of odors and feels like home. We have never seen any residents that look unhappy or not cared for. The activities that take place are so wonderful, and family is able to join in. Dezarae, Kathy and Loren are so reassuring with the medications and take the time to know who the residents are. The food is wonderful, if mom wanted a grilled cheese or egg sandwich in place of a meal, it was not an issue. The housekeeper Katlynn was so kind and made sure to interact with mom when cleaning the room. We loved the layout of the apartment and that she could have a bird feeder outside of her window. Yes, they are expensive, however so are luxury vehicles. I am old enough to know that you get what you pay for.

Bickford of Midland is not your average assisted living. We could not believe how much it felt like home when we arrived for our tour, it was like we knew from the second we stepped out of our car that this was Dad's next home. Darcie was so kind, she was interested in who Dad was now and in the past. She even told us about the specialized men's activities that they have. We were shocked that the RN Stephanie was able to come to the hospital that same day to do the assessment. They made the move so easy. Wade in Maintenance is a keeper, he knows who my Dad is and talks to him everyday like they are old friends. We like all of the fun things that is planned with the residents. Outings, music, door decorating contests and evening bingo! We really hit the lottery with Bickford.

I was visiting my Grandma and very impressed by the way the staff interacted with residents. The staff didn’t know I was even listening. Kathy gave my Grandma her medication and was so kind and knowledgeable. The building smells good and is clean. I liked that the other patient’s and the staff all looked happy. My Grandma says she loves the activities, food, and how everyone makes her feel like she is the most important.

I thought the Bickford of Midland was very nice. I have no issues whatsoever about them. The only thing for me is the location because I live in Beaverton. The location might just not be right for me, but as far as the facility itself, I thought it was a great place. They have church services. They have a courtyard, they have game rooms, and they have laundry.

My father was at Bickford of Midland for a month, and I was real happy with it. He could have stayed there if he wanted to, but he wanted to come down and be near me and my family. It was very nice. The staff was warm and caring. The environment was very home-like. It was a medium sized facility. I think it had about 36 residents. It was just a real nice place. They had excellent follow through with all the staff that was involved with managing his case. They were very quick to get him into routines that were very positive. He improved a lot over four weeks (based on the rehabilitation that he had been in). I was real pleased with the place. He liked the food. For part of the time there, he had to stay in his room because they had issues with COVID. They were putting people into a safety situation, staying in their rooms, and quarantining for meals. Towards the end of that though, he was able to return to the cafeteria. They have an activity planner, and there's stuff going on all the time. He liked to walk around the building, and it was a circular walking route. He said he met more people there in the four weeks he was there, than he had in the last 15 years. He really liked it. He was in their respite program. It was a flat fee for a month, and I think it was probably a fair rate.

Everything went well during our tour of Bickford of Midland Assisted Living and Memory Care. It was a beautiful place, everything was top-notch. The person who gave the tour was very helpful, very knowledgeable, and pleasant to work with. They were putting puzzles together, they had some exercise class, and the staff mentioned a few things that they did. We visited the courtyard and it was all nice. It looks like they do a wonderful job with the food. They said they do everything fresh, it's not brought out on a tray like everybody's eating the same thing. They can order what they want, which was nice.

Bickford is like no other place. Our mother was a long time resident and the staff took phenomenal care of her and her cat. We have not one bad thing to say. The Director picks amazing staff, and the staff do such a wonderful job. The RN’s Stephanie and Haily are beyond knowledgeable of the disease process. Krystyna and Stephanie even came into the building at 7 at night just to answer some questions when mom was having changes. Mom loved the food and had a fun time with activities. The building is beautiful, clean and the decorations are alway perfect for every occasion. We cannot say enough amazing things about our mothers time with Bickford.

What I like about Bickford of Midland is that it's a very happy active place. The residents there were very engaged, active, and social. It was a really good atmosphere. The staff members were very good at asking questions about your loved one and meeting the needs of your loved one. They spent a lot of time going over Mom's hobbies, where she grew up, and kind of her background, so they could get a better idea of things that would stimulate her and help her. They spent a lot of time doing that, which was very nice. They offered us snacks, but we declined. They had a very nice enclosed courtyard-garden area. It was very large, and it had a flower garden. They were talking about adding a vegetable garden and many places to sit. It was just beautifully decorated and kept up. It was just a very, very pleasant place. It felt like a home, like someone's residence versus assisted care. We like it. Of course, those wonderful amenities come at a higher price tag and worth it. But mom did not plan ahead and got herself into some financial problems, so we're kind of stuck with what Mom left us.

Bickford of Midland is five all the way around. It was more expensive than the other place I visited, but it's a really, really nice facility. I saw both assisted living and memory care. They had a nurse come out and evaluate my mom, and she was a candidate for memory care. It was not as sterile and it was warmer. It was a different feel. They walked us through the whole thing. I saw the kitchen and the rec rooms, and how they separated the memory care from the assisted living. We've got to see both rooms of the assisted living and the memory care. The assisted living room was bigger. The memory care rooms were a little bit smaller, and as I look into this, I realize why they have to be smaller. The staff covered everything as far as cost and what's available, and when a room might be available. She just was way thorough. I felt comfortable with her. The community room and the conference rooms were very nice.

Everybody at Bickford of Midland was very friendly; you can see there's a lot of staff. Everybody was out of their rooms engaging and so forth. The least I like about it is the price. My mother never went there, but they all seem very friendly and helpful, and they were out and active with the patients. They have a courtyard and they had a salon, they also have a walking club which I thought was a great thing. The facility was very clean.

We found Bickford of Midland an acceptable option for my sister. A bit more expensive, but maybe a little bit newer. It seemed fine as well. Oh, well, I can say that we did tour Bickford of Midland and we found it perfectly acceptable. It was just fine. That would have been a perfectly acceptable option. We were very impressed with how they got to know her as a person just in a short amount of time. So that was good. I would have no reservations saying that people should take them very, very seriously if it's a good fit for them. I think it worked fine for us. But again, we just chose what my sister wanted. It's newer. It's in good shape, has nice facilities, and nice gardens.

I took a tour of Bickford of Midland for my ex-husband, and we toured the whole thing. They showed me the whole building, a couple of different apartments that they have for the people, and it was a wonderful tour, I was impressed. I thought it was very nice, I wasn't intimidated nor overwhelmed at all. They explained everything so well, I was impressed with the fact that all their meals are one hundred percent home-cooked. The place was very clean, and they had a lot of really great ideas for assisted living, like their own mailbox outside their door. They don't have a lot of doors in each apartment, so if they fall, they're not going to get hurt with a door coming back and banging them in the head or something. I would like to live there myself to tell you the truth. They showed me two apartments. One was called the walnut, and the other one was called the spruce. The spruce was like an efficiency apartment, but both the spruce and the walnut were very nice, they had ample space. I like the fact that the showers were walk-in, so they didn't have to go over a high tub or anything like that. They had a little kitchenette in each one, and I liked both of them. The one who toured us was named Rene, and she was great. She gave me all kinds of information. She told me the information, as well as printed information on it. Every staff member that we spoke with on the way through the tour was very personable, very polite, and very calm, it was a great tour. I wasn't able to try the food, but my mouth was watering because we were right there at lunchtime, and it smelled so good. I would have no problem sitting down and eating a plate. My nose could smell everything that they were making, and it all smelled wonderful. They have a lot to offer to the clients.

My dad is at Bickford Midland. When I got some information about the cost at Bickford, it was a little misleading, because when we went there they charged a lot of extra fees that aren't actually included in the initial quote price that was given to us. That's part of the reason why we're gonna be moving him. He'll be leaving from Bickford. Everything was good, I don't have any complaints for the quality, it is just the cost, it's more than we had initially thought. They charge extra for care every day, $50 extra for care, for the TV, or if they need to have a monitor on their ankles so their alarm goes off if they try to get by the door. There's just a lot of extra fees that were not included in their initial price. Everything seems to be fine with food, activities, the room; everything is good. It seems safe.

Bickford of Midland was very nice and upscale, the people were friendly, and they had a schedule of activities. There's a nice homey feel to it. It was just out of my parents' price range, and my dad wasn't ready to make the jump then. They could be in assisted living together, and then just down the hall, if mom needed to go to memory care, that would be in the same building. We liked the facility, but my parents didn't like the room because it was so small. It was like going from a house to a room with a bathroom, a shower, and a mini kitchen. It was almost like a studio apartment. They were very nice, friendly and answered all my questions. I just saw the activities lady, the admissions lady and the dining room staff, and they all seemed really nice and seemed to be taking care of people well. They gave me muffins to take home to my parents and a basket of flowers. The facility was pretty new and seemed well maintained.

Bickford of Midland was a friendly, very homey, and nice facility. I thought the people were very well-cared for, they gave me a basket of flowers to take to my parents, and that was nice. The only downside was it was a little pricey and higher than I thought. They showed me a couple different floor plans. You could take a pet, and one lady had a little dog. The apartments were a little small, but they had privacy, and they could lock the doors if they wanted to. Everything was on the same level and in the same building, so that was a nice touch. They had a schedule of activities, like a guy from the Red Cross whos going give a seminar, musical people came in, and transportation. They had a room that was multi-purpose where they do chair exercises. My mom may need memory care going down the road, and they have memory care in the same building which was nice.

The rooms at Bickford of Midland were fancy, and I would consider them upscale. It's a beautiful community. When I was there they had a piano player and everyone was singing along. They have a game room with puzzles, card games, and other games like chess or checkers. They can also take out those things to another room if they want to play quietly with a smaller group. The staff member I met was a marvelous young lady who took me on a great tour. It looks like they have an awesome memory care program and area, so that was very nice. The dining area is restaurant style where there are a couple options every day so people can pick and choose, like a la carte. The director also called me several times to make contact. They also have a protective courtyard so people can go out of there freely, and it's all the way enclosed. They can do gardening, or take out their pets since this place allows pets.

Bickford of Midland was very a very nice place. The only thing that I did not care for was I felt their rooms were too confining, and the activities that they had were sufficient but not of my interest. I need something a little more than Bingo and some other things. I think even the lady who we talked to and showed us around honestly felt that they do not really have to offer what I was more interested in after discussing interests and so forth.

My bestfriend is living in Bickford of Midland. For me, the rooms are too small, but my girlfriend and her husband are happy there. They seem to keep them busy. The people are very nice. I think Bickford is a very nice community. They have books that residents could read, and they have puzzles. They also have an exercise room. The staff is very friendly and very nice. They treat me very well. They call me by my first name when I go in and visit there. I like the staff; they're very nice.

Bickford of Midland was very nice and very home-like, and the staff was very friendly. The rooms were on the smaller side but very nice. The place was very clean without any odors, which is really nice. They sent me home a little pot with some homemade breads that were delicious. They seemed to be receptive to adapting their meal plans to the residents' needs. They had daily activities, and on Sundays, they had a non-denominational Church service. They had a calendar of events up on the wall. They had laundry services or the residents could do their own laundry if they wanted to. Their price seemed pretty reasonable.

My mother has been a resident for several years, at first in the general memory/assisted living area and now in the more specialized memory care section. Excellent administration has been in place for 2 years. Staffing is stabilized and well-trained CNAs are caring and able. An RN is on duty daily, and can be reached off-hours as well. It feels like home to my mother, and I am grateful for the high quality of care and lovely surroundings, but especially for the personal attention she receives from so many good people.

Staff: Aides are kind and respectful, but over worked. Appears to be a lot of turn-over with the staff. Positives: Facility is clean and nicely decorated. Negatives: Facility appears to have no contingency plans when cook or nurse is gone. Meals are good to mediocre and aide staff is expected to provide the meals when cooks are not there. Concerns are addressed in what I would consider a very "canned response." Unfortunately, since Midland is a small town the choice of assisted living is limited. therefore, I believe there is no real competition to make this a first class facility. I would like to see the corporations pay for activities for the residents. Most activities are from volunteers, so they aren't very interesting. I wish we had other solutions for caring for my parent.

Bickford was smaller and much pricey. The apartments were small and I believed all they had were studio apartments. However, the people working there were nice. They had activities and it was close to home.

My mom stayed for about a month at Bickford of Midland. It was good but not excellent. We did not feel confident with the care that she got. And the communication with the family was not good compared to the other facility.
