My wife was here. It was for respite care. The size is good because it's small. They're a pretty close group. The staff was very good. Their food was excellent. The cleanliness was good. It's reasonably new; it's not an old place or anything. For activities, they played cards and bingo. My wife enjoyed it; she thought it was nice. The layout was good. The rooms weren't as big as some of the other ones, but you're not in there that much. The atmosphere was very friendly.

About Tridgeview Commons in Midland, Michigan
Tridgeview Commons, located at 4004 Waldo Avenue in Midland, MI, is a senior living community offering assisted living and memory care in a comfortable, home-like setting. The facility was formerly known as Brookdale Midland and recently underwent new local ownership, with an official rebranding and ribbon-cutting in September 2025. The change in ownership includes a shift toward all-inclusive pricing to minimize surprise charges, and renovations are planned to refresh kitchens, flooring, and common areas. Though exact building size is not publicly disclosed, the community maintains an intimate scale designed for close personal relationships. Residents at Tridgeview Commons enjoy a range of amenities and support services. On-site features include a beauty and barber shop, convenient parking, and a welcoming garden and courtyard where residents can relax or participate in gardening activities. Housekeeping and linen cleaning are included in the all-inclusive model, and residents may arrange private cleaning or laundry services for clothing as needed. Daily life is enriched by music, games, arts and crafts, gardening, and offsite excursions tailored to residents’ interests. The dining program features a central shared dining room, accommodations for special diets such as diabetic meals, and allows guests during mealtimes. Room service and in-unit kitchenettes may also be available depending on care level. English is the primary language of service. What truly sets Tridgeview Commons apart is its thoughtful approach to balancing safety, warmth, and community connection. Staff are trained in dementia care and provide 24/7 support in both assisted living and memory care. The community emphasizes a homelike environment, where residents feel valued and comfortable rather than institutional. The name “Tridgeview” celebrates the iconic Tridge footbridge near downtown Midland, tying the community’s identity to local heritage. Nearby, residents can explore Downtown Midland’s pedestrian plaza, seasonal musical performances, shops and restaurants, as well as the city’s parks and riverside trails. This proximity to local culture offers residents opportunities to stay connected with the broader Midland community. I toured. I was impressed with what they had. They had a couple of different programs going on, so I was able to witness the different programs and got to go through a few of the rooms with and without residents. They were very clean. They had multiple options for needs, like a studio, two bedrooms, and nice spaces for people. It looked very homey. People had their furniture and stuff in there, as well as anything that needed supplies. So it was very comfortable from what I saw. I thought it was fun. They have, a storefront town-looking hallway with street signs and things, so I thought that was a cool way to display the facilities. The staff was very inviting and gave me lots of content that was easy to access, and follow up, which was good.

What I liked best was the caring people, the way that they talked to me, and the way they showed their care. The place was clean. I liked the way the staff presented themselves. They offered everything. They had a salon and a rehabilitation room. They would provide your meals and social programs where they take the residents on trips and stuff like that.

I loved my tour. The only problem that I had with them was that the community room was fairly small, and I'm in an electric wheelchair, and I'm always afraid I'm going to bang into somebody or something. The private rooms were bigger than the other place I saw, so they're OK. I just wish the common areas were larger. The couple of staff members that I spoke to in the office were very kind people. I liked the menus, I saw the residents playing cards, they had a beauty shop and a sauna. I liked the fact that the rooms have a small kitchen sink. They also have transportation services for the residents to go on outings, concerts, restaurants, baseball games, and so on.

We went to look here. I liked the setup of the room and shower. The staff members were friendly and were able to answer all our questions. The rooms were adequate. We talked to the people there, and they all agreed that the food was very, very good. The dining area was wide, open, well-lit, and clean. The facility was very welcoming and clean. It was not at all institution-like. It's more hotel-like.

My mom has moved in. We have chosen this one because when we walked in, it was peaceful, it was quiet, and there were not a lot of people moaning, groaning, and yelling. It was just a nice, quiet atmosphere. The staff is good. My mom likes the meals, and they're really good. Right now, they don't have her in any activities because she can't stand up.

It was pleasant and the staff was very helpful. We could tell that they took lots of precautions to make it comfortable for families and we were satisfied with all the offerings they had in the memory care. The rooms were maybe a little bit small, but they had lots of other common rooms and pleasant places for their residents. We were able to view the activities calendar and that looked quite good too. I believe they had regular pet therapy once a week, exercises every day, brain games, and one on one activities if needed, but also activities as a group. We saw people doing some kind of drawing or painting, so I'm satisfied that they find ways to engage people, not just park them in a corner.

The staff was very helpful and very caring. It was easy to find. It was outside the city a little bit. It's in a rural setting, it's heavily wooded in the back, and there are deer and turkeys that come out. They have an area where they have people sit out and watch those. My father was in one of the larger rooms and it was very well organized, had a nice view of the outside patio, was very convenient to the bathroom area, and it was at the end of the hall, but it was easy to go down to the library area and the eating area.

I put my father in here. It’s satisfactory, clean, and nice. I had chicken wraps, iced tea, and a salad at our first lunch; they were excellent. We had meatloaf, baked potato, and vegetables one night for dinner. I wish they had more activities for them. He is high functioning and highly intelligent, and being around people that are advanced into their dementia and Alzheimer's, he really has nobody to relate to. I guess they’re doing the best they can do with the situation that he’s in.
