"I toured Swanhaven Manor. It was fantastic. I liked the convenience of it; I never had to leave the front door. The staff was very helpful and very nice. I was sold on it when I walked in."

"My mom has just moved in. It's closest to her family. The facility is excellent. There's a lot of amenities. They have a huge dining hall, a library, a game room, a crafting room, and their own laundry rooms. They have at least six events a day that they can attend. I didn't get to sample their meals, but they get to sit down at tables and order like they're at a restaurant, and they have choices. The staff members were very informative and answered any questions that we had."

"My mother was in Memory care for 6 weeks after she had her first stroke which affected her speech and comprehension. The facility was the perfect place for her. The aura felt good upon entering. The staff was friendly and helpful. They loved on her as if she was their mom. They cried with us when she passed away a few days after her 2nd stroke. I feel the facility was a blessing and the best place for her last days."

"American House has independent housing apartments mainly, and common activities for the elderlies. They have 2-bedroom and 1-bedroom apartments, and they're very good. They take people to doctors' appointments. There's a chapel and even a small theater."

"My mom is at Wellspring Senior Living Campus - Saginaw and I have nothing but positive things to say about them. It is very clean and anything we've asked to have checked for maintenance has been taken care of within 24 hours, which is excellent. People are very friendly when you walk in (they greet you) and they serve good food. It's healthy and it's got a wide variety of things you can have. Plus they have something as their main dish for the day, for breakfast, for lunch, and dinner. They also offer some bingo, cards, sing-alongs, music, and different things. They take the residents out to go shopping and have an occasional lunch at one of the local restaurants. The staff is very friendly and they're very anxious to help you. The residents are always very upbeat as well."

"My cousin-in-law has moved into New Hope Valley. They have very caring people. The food is excellent. It's the best facility that you could possibly find. They have so many levels of care. If she should need more care, you don't have to yank her out of some place and put her some place else. Physically, it's a very beautiful place."

"My sister is in Washington Wood. The grounds are very nice. It's in a kind of wooded area, so it's very pleasant. The public areas are very nice. They seem to have a lot of activities for the people. They get their daily lunch and meal from Monday through Friday. They have some church services. I haven't dealt with the staff except initially, and they seemed friendly enough."

"Riverside Place Senior Citizen is magnificent. It's right next to a river, and there's a trail that you can use, so that's the outside and it's wonderful. And then the inside is always clean and nice. I can't say enough good things. The staff are very busy. They have their jobs. I've used the maintenance man a couple of times, and he's very efficient. Everybody does what they're supposed to do. In terms of activities, right now, they're announcing that there's a big band set at 5:00. There are way too many different activities. Today they had two afternoon activities. There's more but I don't do like the pool, shuffleboard, cornhole, or bocce. But I do exercise on Tuesday and Thursday. It's a gentle exercise where you sit in chairs and it's fun. It's a great place for a bunch of old ladies that sit and do all the exercises. There are too many exercises to do actually. I'm only in my apartment a few hours a day, otherwise, there's something to do. Food would be the one drawback. They're cafeteria food when you were in college. They cater to your table, and it's called gourmet dining, but I don't know about how gourmet it is. They have white tablecloths on tables, and it is fancy, but the food is mass-produced. It's not your mom's home cooking. It was hard for me at first to get used to that. And then people that have been here longer say, 'You get what you get and don't throw a fit,' and so okay, that's what I'll do. It's not the cheapest one that we checked into, but it's about the right price. It's the market price for what my rent would be. "

"Roxbury Court was my favorite. It was very clean and well-kept. The management was very friendly and informative. I met several of the residents, and their words were, "If you get a place here, you'll never want to leave." I really wanted that one, but as it turned out, they didn't have anything available. The staff who assisted me was young. She took us to the room. She was very friendly. She was working with us to try to get an apartment. There was one available, but she didn't realize that someone else had accepted a deposit on that unit, so that's why we didn't get that one. They had a library, and I believe they had a small beauty salon. They had transportation like a shuttle bus that would take you shopping. They had elevators for the second floor. It was so well taken care of, and I saw no flaws in it during the short time I was there. There was a dining area where you can bring your own meals and sit at the table and chairs and eat with other people, or bring in your coffee and sit and have coffee with others, but I don't recall seeing any kitchen."
