Overall, staff is friendly and seems to provide good care. The equipment appears old and the building itself doesn't feel very clean. Strong scent of urine in patient care areas.

All of you should be ashamed for violating the rights of the residents within your care, my friend Frances Mom has been moved from her room without the required 30 day notice and the family wasn't told anything this is a violation of her medical right's and I would not sit idle by while this practice continues- and shame on the director of this facility whom thinks violating the rights of the elderly is ok, would not recommended this facility to a veterinarian.

This place is terrible. Very out of date facility and decor. When my mother stayed there, several rooms were empty. The bathrooms are very small for a handicap person to use. Staff communication is poor at best.

My uncle stayed at Wellspring in Frankenmuth, and it was awful. He was there for two months because of three fractured ribs and a urinary tract infection. The hospital sent him there for rehabilitation, and they signed him up for occupational and physical therapy. When they went to get him out of his bed to transport him to the bathroom or into a wheelchair, they put the lift out right on his fractured rib. They said they were unaware he had any fractured ribs. There was incompetency and lack of communication from one department to another. Then, he had a golf ball shaped bruise on his left wrist, and his hand was black. When I questioned them about that, physical therapy told me he slept on it wrong. I demanded an x-ray and four days later, they finally did x-ray. The doctor never spoke to me and never came in, but reported to the nurses that the x-rays showed no fracture. The nurse said he must've bumped it. Two days went by, and it just got worse. Upon discharge, he was soiled with both urine and fecal matter and hadn't had a bath in over a week. We got him home, and we had homecare for him. Within five days, he's back in the emergency room with a flaming UTI. I asked them over six different times to test him for UTI because he became combative which is a sign of UTI. They did not check him, not once for UTI, so I filed a complaint with the State. There were some aides that were wonderful there. A couple of the male aides had worked with my uncle, and he actually responded well to them as far as them trying to clean him up. His appetite increased, and he did gain about 15 pounds while he was there. They're like a hospital room, but more on the nicer side. There were tile floors, and he had a private bathroom. They had a dining facility, and the food was excellent. They had a little atrium area outside. If you're a long-term resident, they give you an area where you can garden like a container garden. Pets were allowed. Cable was provided with a TV, and you don't have to pay for separate cable. They have a chapel right there in the facility and a local minister comes in. They have bingo, music nights, and all kinds of different activities for the residents to participate in. I'm just very unhappy with the physical therapy department. When I went down to participate during his physical therapy, they were not nice to any of the male residents, but they were nice to the female residents. They were short tempered with the male residents. They do have long-term care, homecare, and hospice care there. However, I would not recommend this facility for anybody's family member. They should improve on their communication between departments and with family members as well as improve on the care for the residents.

There is no accountability, lack of communication, and poor supervision! Change in administration went from bad to worse. When visiting I have never seen the administrator talk to one resident.

The staff of Wellspring Lutheran Services was wonderful to my mom. They were very, very kind to her, and I felt they took good care of her, but it also took family like my sister and I to take care of her too and to make sure all her needs were met. The food was pretty good. They had a cook and sometimes even the people who work in the kitchen would bring a recipe to work and make the recipe for the people there for a treat, like during strawberry season, they would make a whole bunch of homemade strawberry pie or something. They would do special things like that for the people who were there, and I thought that was really great.

Most of the staff was generally warm and friendly, however, there were a couple of employees that had a bit of a colder demeanor. One of my favorite features, that the residents seem to love, is an aviary in the lobby of the facility. The facility also has a few cats for the residents. This could be a problem for people who have allergies to cats like myself but I prepare and appropriate allergy medication before hand. There was a faint smell of urine throughout the facility, however, none of the resident seemed to be distressed as if they were sitting in urine for a large amount of time. The residents seem like the recreation area that has been outfitted with a few televisions as well as several different board and card games. The recreation area is right next to the dining room. The food served reminded me of hospital food, visually. Overall, this is one of the best nursing homes I've visited.

During my grandmother's failing health, it became apparent she was no longer able to spend long hours alone. My family and I searched out assisted living homes near our area. The Lutheran Home, located in Frankenmuth, Michigan, was the best rated care home in the area. I and my father, went to the Facility to inspect the level of cleanliness, care and overall functionality their home. We found that it was a rather large home, with the capability to hold over 150 residents. There was ample, experienced staff and the home seemed t be very clean and smelled like it had just been cleaned. There was a large dining hall where 3 meals and snacks were served daily. It was lunch time when we arrived and it seemed to be very much in order with two nursing attendants at every table to watch the residents as they ate. The rooms were either individual rooms, or shared bedrooms. The shared rooms had two bathrooms for the shared rooms and a heavy curtain to divide each residents personal space. The staff seemed friendly experienced and the facility had a very calming overall feel. It didn't seem chaotic, dirty or cramped. It felt more like a resort though it most definitely was an assisted living home. There were gardens, a yard, parties for holidays and we were pleased with the place in general. They do take both medicare and medicaid, as the price ranges anywhere from $5,000.00 to $7,000.00 a month. If you live in Michigan, and are looking for a good caring, assisted living facility, I recommend the Lutheran Home in Frankenmuth, Michigan. That's where we decided to place our Grandmother and have been very happy with our decision.

The staff there is great! They are so patient, and they really do care about the residents. The rooms are very nice and well kept. There are several game type rooms, and living rooms. They have an activity planned for each day of the week, and have big special parties on the weekends for the residents. They treat them all so well, and I have never heard anyone ever complain about this place. They are constantly thinking about new things for the residents. They have talent shows, holiday parties (decorating pumpkins, gingerbread houses, valentines etc).

They have great staff there. They really care about the seniors, not just a job. My friend there has his own little apt type space. Every week kids from the school or the boy/girl scouts come and do activities with the seniors, last week they did bowling in the main lobby. They really enjoyed it. The staff always is creating groups or arts and crafts stuff. Jim made me a bookmark last week that he was really proud of. He says the food is great, but ive never tried it. The only thing he doesnt like about living there is he isnt allowed to have any pets. i suppose its for the health of the seniors there. i would really recommend this home to anyone that has a family member in need of extra care, they can definitely provide the utmost care!
