"We went to Michigan Masonic Home for my husband's parents. We looked there about a year ago, and it was absolutely beautiful. We looked at the assisted living part, and everything was first rate and very nice. They had beautiful facilities and great staff. We just visited for the day, walked around, and saw all the different examples of apartments that they had. Then we ate a meal there. Because of the pandemic, his mother was never able to go there because they were not accepting new residents. And by the time she could go there, she couldn't. And then she passed away. The food we had was very good that day. The staff were very helpful and very knowledgeable. I thought the rooms were professionally laid out. They had apartments and then they had rooms, and they were very well done. They had a beautiful chapel, different restaurants, and three different dining rooms. They have lots of activities for the residents, and I was overwhelmed by all of the nice grounds, activities, and all the things they had. They have a library and an in-house health clinic, and they bring doctors into the clinic, which was very nice. They have specialists there, so that was good. Everything about it was very well done. I just can't say enough good about it. The lady who took us all over knew all about the rates for each room and layout. She was very knowledgeable. If you're affiliated with the Masons, they have a better rate for you, of course, because it's through Masonic Pathways and the Masons. It was very, very clean. They have three or four floors. They have a skilled nursing unit, too, but we didn't see that because at the time my in-laws felt that they didn't need that. They just wanted to be in the assisted living part. They have all levels of care. They have independent, assisted and then total care. They even have their little version of a fast-food place, and that's where we ate. It was really good."
