"Over all care was very good and nursing staff was very good. However, the social worker was given my new home telephone number and never passed it on to the nursing staff. Eventhough they had my work number and my cell phone number, I was the last family member to know my husband had passed away. Mistakes happen but this was very hurtful to me and his two youngest children as we were the ones who cared for him until he had to go into Schnepps for 24 hour care. "

"I have chosen Rosewood I for my parents. They accept Medicaid waivers, while the others do not. They are Johnny-on-the-spot, and they are taking good care of my parents. If they are happy, I'm happy. My mom has dementia and they took her. They also have one guy that is over 100 years old. Everybody is very nice. My parents like the food, too. It is a big white building with big pillars at the front. It looks like the White House in Washington, DC, and that's what hooked my parents on it. They love it. Regarding activities, they're not into that stuff. They just want to do their own thing. They have activities, though."

"I like Margaret's Meadows, and I might pick this place for my father if I need to. They have a large open area where people can watch TV. There were cards and puzzles out and things the residents could engage in. They make all the food fresh. It was good to know that they either have a blender available or something to make sure the food is soft, which was one of our concerns. I would rate them the highest; I was very impressed. I met with the owner and got introduced to some of the staff members. They were engaged during the meal time when I was there, and a lot of the staff was helping people sit down to eat. Everything was nice and clean, and the place looked warm."

"The facility has just gone through a beautiful renovation. It is lovely and so comfortable for the residents, The rooms are so comfortable having their own bathrooms and little kitchen areas. I did not eat there, but the food always smelled delicious and I know they gave the residents what they wanted and special treats. The staff were all so wonderful and caring to my sister-in-law while she was there. She was not always easy to care for, but they stayed on top of her needs. The had fun and creative activities for the residence, from music, doing their nails, tea parties, happy hour, and special crafts for holidays. There are outdoor places to sit and the staff often will have special activities or treats outdoors. Mt. Pleasant is a nice town with many restaurants and activities with the college right there."

"I have been to New Hope Assisted Living LLC. You have to be ambulatory to go. It’s very nice, but people who are not ambulatory or can’t walk, or use a cane or a walker, they can’t live there because of the small staff. It’s very nice though. They only have like 12 to 18 people or something like that. It’s very nice. It is out in the country, and a lot of the people have their little birdfeeders so they can watch the birds, flowers, and trees. It’s very nice for an elderly people who like the country or has always lived in the country. I like it, but it wasn’t what I was looking for. "

"I visited my sister at Green Acres Mt. Pleasant and shared lunch with the people there and it was lovely. They were very welcoming with a very comfortable feeling. They gave lots of support. I had stew for lunch with a biscuit, a good salad, a lemonade, and chocolate cake. We asked a couple of people about maintenance and they said "Oh, you'll love him. He takes great care of everybody." At Green Acres Mt. Pleasant, you pay the price and that includes all the assistance. They have a patio and they were putting furniture out today. It was almost 70 degrees and sunny and warm. It was just wonderful. One of the biggest reasons why we chose them, was when you walk in, it looks homey. You walk down the hall and they have fake tall trees and ivy and stuff to make it look like you're walking down a boulevard."

"Golden Life Adult Foster Care has been great. The staff is very helpful and very knowledgeable. I have no complaints. My husband's room is too small for two people, but he's alone now; it's not so bad, and it's very clean. The meals are fresh, not frozen, and they're very good at cooking a decent, healthy meal three times a day. The dining area is like a family table where they all sit around, and they serve the food on their plates. They go for walks, they have outings, and they play games. The dirt driveway is just so bad, but it's a very happy atmosphere."

"I have my brother at Applewood Assisted Living. We chose it because they had rooms available when I needed them. It's very clean. He's got a nice room. The staff is nice and friendly. The girls are patient with him. They don't have any activities other than watching TV and putting puzzles together, and he doesn't participate in that. They have a lot of cats, so if you're allergic to cats, it's not the place to go. They have a dining room and a front room with a TV and recliners. It's a nice place. They've worked with me on the money part."

"I was looking for my sister and the residence seems to be very friendly, clean and equipped to handle the needs of the residents. Very homey setting. "

"My husband is in Twin Oaks. It’s a nice, small place with 15 or 20 people at the most. They have a big table where they are served their meals. "

"My dad moved to Rest Assured Assisted Living. It's only 11 minutes from my home and the facility is like a home. Like a regular residence of the person would be in. The staff is caring. The rooms are nice and it doesn't have like some of these places you walk into, and the first thing that you smell is urine. This place is clean. They're always keeping everything clean and updated. They have a church group that comes in and does craft activities. They try to play bingo once a month. They have a neighbor that comes in that's a church group, and they play music. In nice weather, they have an outdoor seating area and they have a bonfire. They have raised garden beds where residents can plant their gardens. They have exercise programs that residents can join in on exercises for their age group. They are all very caring. They listen well when you're explaining things about your parents or the person on what is going on. They take notes. They show you the facility where the medication is capped and how it's all locked up and only certain people have the key and they're scheduling for certain items."

"I went to Green Acres of Greenville. The staff was very friendly. Their food seems to be more than adequate. It's very healthy and well-balanced. I've eaten there. It's very good. They have games, puzzles, and live music. They have different gatherings for different arts and crafts, which you don't have to take part in if you don't want to. They have exercise groups. And that's just what I'm aware of. I'm not there every day. But I know they usually have a lot going on all the time for everyone. The apartment is beautiful. It's huge. It's bigger than my friend's house was. He has a nice-sized bedroom and a good-sized living space with enough room for a small table and a small kitchenette. I was just thinking that if there was a place I had to go, that would be the place that I would choose to go."

"We have already placed my mom in an ALF called Our Place Cares. It was our choice primarily because of the location. Also it was recommended to us by the people in the hospital. The place is always clean. All the residents there have dementia-related issues and it is a good fit for my mother. The staff is good. They're friendly and they work very hard there. I thought the residents are well cared for. They try to do things with them but most of the patients are fairly far along in their dementia, so I don't know if they could participate all that much in anything. My mom for one doesn't participate. I think the best thing about this facility is the staff and the neatness of the place. They even have visiting doctors that would make house calls. I would recommend this place. "

"Good Vibes Adult Foster Care is very nice. They have lots of windows, so there's good lighting. It was very clean. Everybody was super nice. They get everybody up and walking. They have people that come in and entertain with music and stuff like that. They have mass there, say the rosary every morning, and somebody brings communion once a week."
