"When I toured it was very light, clean and everyone on staff that i met was very friendly. Now our son is living there and they seem to be very efficient in their care. The admitting meeting left a little to be desired. Instead of sitting in a conference room they all stood around my son's room and there were no chairs and the room mate was there so we didn't want to interfere with his space. awkward! "

"The Willows at East Lansing was a nice facility. The staff was nice, very helpful, and friendly. The facility was nice, clean, and homey. It was just that the other facility was a little bit more comfortable for me, but both would be facilities that I wouldn't hesitate to take my husband to. The layout was nice. I don't have anything bad to say about the facility from my visit that day."

"My sister and I went on a tour of this facitlity and we were very inmpressed with the cleanliness and staff and wanted our mom to rest comfortably and have a more at home feel since the rooms were set up, in our eyes, like an apartment. We met with the person in charge and she informed us that there would be a $25.00 application fee. She also told us that my mom would be a good fit but the waiting period was about 6 months. After waiting our 6 months they received all of the paperwork necessary to move my mom in. Upon hearing that my mom had sores and that they could re-open they declined her. However, we had to call several times to find out that information. It is our opinion that in order to maintain a high rating with the state they couldn't have anyone there with my moms condition. We were very disappointed after we were told she was a good fit. "

"My dad is in the dementia care of MediLodge of Capital Area. It's one of the few nursing homes that still has that. It's a really nice facility and they take very good care of him. Any little thing that happens, like if he bumped his elbow or tried to stand up out of his wheelchair by himself, anything like that, they give us a call and let us know. So, they keep a very good communication line with us. He has nurses that really seem to care about him and know him really well. He needs a special kind of mashed up food now because of his swallowing, and they make sure that he eats. If he doesn't eat well, they offer him a nutritional drink shake. So, we just feel like he gets really good care there. I like it because the hallway is very quiet. They have a TV area, but I don't believe there's televisions in the actual room so that it's much quieter than when my mom was in Kalamazoo, where everybody had their own television, and they were on very, very loud. It's a quieter area for my dad, which is great for his dementia because it just gets too distracting with all those televisions going and stuff. It's a nice, clean, and updated facility. The rooms are nice, too. Last month we went to a picnic where they loaded up all the people and their wheelchairs and took them to a park and took a grill to the park. The family came and met the residents at the park. We were under a pavilion, and it was really nice and really special. They put forth a lot of effort to do it. They seem to be happy when family visits. One time we weren't there for a little while because my mom was having problems, and we didn't see my dad. His nurses were like, "We're so glad you came. We were hoping you guys would come soon. He needs to see you." It was just really nice because they like family that come in."

"There's nothing I did not like about Ingham County Medical Care Facility. When I first walked in, the atmosphere was kind of warm and welcoming. The service personnel were very helpful and friendly. The facility was very clean. It had a nice home-feel setup. The residents that I had seen there seemed to be at ease and be taken care of. Everything I've seen about the facility seemed to be very friendly. If I ever had to go, that's where I would want to go. That would be my first choice for my husband's care if I have to end up having him go. The staff answered questions and were attentive and concerned with my concerns and needs. It's very nicely laid out. The size of the room was very comfortable and nice and the layout was nice. There was plenty of space for what was needed for the individual and visiting guests. I'm very impressed with everything about the facility. I don't have any bad things to say about it."

"We've chosen Aria Nursing & Rehab for mom. Overall, it's OK. There may be a little understaffing but that's to be expected during the pandemic. Other than that, it seems alright. She didn't have any complaints about the food. Her legs broke, so she really can't do anything, but I know they have activities because she says she can hear them playing in the activity room. She's in the rehab part. The only problem that I had was getting through to her. We had to buy her a cell phone because they don't have phones in the room and if I had to leave a message or something like that for her, it took a pretty good amount of time to get her the message and for her to get back with me."

"My spouse was at the facility in July 2022 for rehab. and as a social worker I chose this facility because of knowing of its excellence. This only proved to be true while my husband was there. The Doctor and staff were outstanding. The care and attention he received and interaction with me was superb. I continue to refer others to the facility. Although the facility may be older what is important is the excellent care it provides. "

"My father was a resident at the Tendercare West facility after a series of strokes. My mother was unable to keep him at home due to her working schedule and the lack of adequate help being able to stay in the home with him during her absence. I found the staff at Tendercare to be very kind, courteous and caring. They appeared to be knowledgable of my fathers medical condition, as well as him needs. They were also very helpful as far as training our family on the do's and donts as we were attempting to implement a plan to take him home. The facilty was up to date, clean and well staffed. My father is quite the picky eater and was thouroghly satisfied with the meals that were served. I was pleased with the fact that they also provided several activities for the residents and their families. Overall all I was genuinely pleased with the level of care provided at the facility. "

"When someone is admitted to a nursing home or rehabilitation facility, they always come with unique circumstances and needs. Those that staff “good” facilities, demonstrate awareness, sensitivity, creativity, flexibility and a commitment to the care of each and every new resident. When my 96 year old mother in law desperately needed to be admitted to a rehab facility 16 days ago…at a very late hour…the director of The Regency, West Lansing stepped up. After 16 hours in a local ER, and after numerous back and forth phone calls, Mom was finally admitted to the Regency at 11 pm. Over the next two weeks she received superb care, particularly Physical Therapy and Occupational therapy. Her nurses were very sensitive to her needs and those of her 96 year old husband who was her constant companion, supporter and motivator. The food she received was very adequate. Mom came home today and she and our whole family are so very grateful to the staff at Regency Lansing West for the wonderful experience she and our whole family had during her stay. If we ever need the services of a nursing home or rehab facilty in the future, Regency will be our first call. "

"My father was at Dimondale for about 3 weeks. He was staying in 3 west. I visited everyday that I was in town. The staff was amazing. Everyone was friendly and very helpful with my fathers needs, and he can be very picking lol. Nurse Beca and Nurse Laytoya were absolutely amazing. The staff in the gym were very attentive to my fathers special needs with his walker. The facility is older but, very clean. The art deco look was like walking back into the 60's. But, nicely done. the activity directer was very nice and had activitys ever day for the residents. They even have church service on Sunday. Rooms were clean and comfortable. the food was prepared properly but, never hot enough for my father. If anyone is looking for care for their loved ones give Dimondale a look. you maybe surprised at what you find."

"My mother was there about six months ago for about 4 months all together. Her saying was "if you have to be somewhere, it might as well be here!" She loved the large varity of activities daily, there seemed to always be something different to do (not just bingo and cards, although they did that too :)) all throughout the day. The gal's who ran the activities were very creative and kind with the residents, We were even able to attend mass in the building which was extremely helpful for mom. The physical therapy program she was on got her right up on her feet again and the staff that worked her hall were very nice, and did everything they could to make her feel at home. The room was quite large, and there were no visiting hours, which worked well with my families busy schedule. We still go back and visit when we are able. I cant say enought about this amazing place! I recomend this facility to everyone I know! "

"Ovid Healthcare Center seems to do a pretty good job so far. My dad hasn't had any complaints about anything. There always seems to be an ample amount of staff there. The rooms are a pretty good size, fairly simple, and functional. The few people that I talked to at the desk have been helpful. They assisted me in getting him the things that I bring in and they're fairly personable. The food is pretty simple. The facilities are not super attractive or welcoming, but it has a nice courtyard. They have varied activities. They recently had a management change."

"I visited Pleasant View two years ago. It's brand new, built within the last five years. It's a nice place, and they seemed to have good workers there. I believe it's a nursing home. The staff was good, it all looked really nice, it had a nice layout. The community room where we're at was really inviting, nice, and big. It's very clean, and they have attentive staff."

"Medilodge of Livingston felt cleaner. It was a nice place. It was acceptable. I think the only issue I had with the facility was that my mother couldn't get in there because there were no open rooms. It was a clean place. The people were very nice. They were thorough. The food looked good. They were all very, very pleasant and welcoming."

"A couple of years ago, I was at The Willows at Howell for a couple of weeks. Then I was there for two weeks this summer, and then this last time I was there for 10 days. It's like a homey feeling the way they have it. It fitted out everything. It's not white and stark like the other facility. It's very homey the way they have it fixed up. I have no complaints at all. They have quite a bit of activities. They have an exercise program, bingo, and music. Once a week, they have somebody come in with the music. Of course, with COVID, they were a little limited. The food was good. You certainly get what you're paying for."
