"My mother was a resident of the rehabilitation center during most of the month of December, 2019. The staff was great / took the time to answer our questions and answered the call light quickly and cheerfully. Kelli, the admissions coordinator, greeted us right when we arrived and was very helpful in getting us settled in. Mom's room was very nice and was kept clean. The food was fantastic, and she always received what she ordered at the breakfast and lunch meals - the accuracy of the supper trays was not as good - often items were missing from her tray. The therapy staff provided appropriate physical and occupational therapy activites during her stay. I would have liked to have seen Mom participate in more of the activities that were available - not sure if she wasn't asked or if she told the staff that she didn't want to do them. I would highly recommend Heartland Health Care Center - Fostrian Rehabiliatation Center to any family looking for this type of service."

"My sister is in Willowbrook Manor. They've been very good with her. It's clean. They seem very caring. She hasn't complained about the food. Her room has a bed, and there's a wooden shelving unit for her clothing, and she has a side table. The wooden shelving is very nice. I've seen the lounging room and they have a TV in there, couches and chairs, and it looks very clean and comfortable."

"My sister and I went on a tour of this facitlity and we were very inmpressed with the cleanliness and staff and wanted our mom to rest comfortably and have a more at home feel since the rooms were set up, in our eyes, like an apartment. We met with the person in charge and she informed us that there would be a $25.00 application fee. She also told us that my mom would be a good fit but the waiting period was about 6 months. After waiting our 6 months they received all of the paperwork necessary to move my mom in. Upon hearing that my mom had sores and that they could re-open they declined her. However, we had to call several times to find out that information. It is our opinion that in order to maintain a high rating with the state they couldn't have anyone there with my moms condition. We were very disappointed after we were told she was a good fit. "

"I came year 10 weeks ago in a wheelchair. Started Physical therapy and i progressed extremely well and they have the best therapist ever vamshi and Chris. Now i can walk very good and use my hands now which i was not able to do so. All the staff the administrator Stephen are the best i ever had. In 6 weeks i become the president of the resident council and i love all the residents. This is a beautiful home. I praise it for ever. I am very happy ever, happier than any facility i was ever in."

"My mother-in-law has been a resident of the Willows at East Lansing for a year and a half. It's a nice, very clean facility with nice rooms. The staff is nice, very personable, and the turnover is not high. The meals are pretty good for the most part. They try to have a monthly family gathering where you can do brunch, and overall, we're happy with the service. She's in a shared room with a closet that separates the bed, her recliner, and TV console, and she can hang personal pictures in her side of the room. She has a group that plays cards on Saturday nights, a bus can take them out, and she teaches crochet."

"We can't say enough good things about Kith Haven! Everyone is helpful and when our father with Alzheimer's was combative and the ONLY facility willing to take him was Kith Haven. We were not only grateful but impressed by how genuine they were in their care of him. Lou and Keisha in particular are always there with a smile on their face and willing to help with anything. The cleaning lady on the second floor as well is the nicest gal! We have nothing but good things to say for all of the staff, the coordinators, billing people- EVERYONE has been simply the best!! "

"When I toured it was very light, clean and everyone on staff that i met was very friendly. Now our son is living there and they seem to be very efficient in their care. The admitting meeting left a little to be desired. Instead of sitting in a conference room they all stood around my son's room and there were no chairs and the room mate was there so we didn't want to interfere with his space. awkward! "

"It was clean, smelled nice, and was very organized. The staff was friendly, professional, and informed. It was good place that my mother could have been. The rooms and apartments were spacious. The food was appetizing. They had choices for dinner. I thought they had a chef on staff. The nurses were friendly. The nurse-patient ratio is probably four or five to one, and then they had CNAs too. They do different kinds of games. They had an arboretum and wild birds. They have best physical therapy and occupational therapy. They had board games night. I thought they had book readings and a book club. They had cards you had to have to access places in the facility to visit your loved ones."

"My wife was at Ingham County Medical Care Facility. She passed away. It was a very nice place, but they don't have senior living there. That is a nursing home. I like the place. If I have to go to a nursing home, I definitely go there. The staff is excellent. The food is mediocre. The building is pretty modern. They have everything there, and my wife enjoyed it there very much. They have bingo, movies, and games. It is a very well-run place, except they just don't have a very good cook. The facility is very well kept."

"Maple Woods Manor was a clean, friendly, loving, and caring place. The staff was very attentive and professional. The area was just great and the apartments were adequate. They have gardening, a puzzle room, an activity room, and different amenities of a hair salon and things like that. The dining room was large, spacious, and clean."

"My dad is in the dementia care of MediLodge of Capital Area. It's one of the few nursing homes that still has that. It's a really nice facility and they take very good care of him. Any little thing that happens, like if he bumped his elbow or tried to stand up out of his wheelchair by himself, anything like that, they give us a call and let us know. So, they keep a very good communication line with us. He has nurses that really seem to care about him and know him really well. He needs a special kind of mashed up food now because of his swallowing, and they make sure that he eats. If he doesn't eat well, they offer him a nutritional drink shake. So, we just feel like he gets really good care there. I like it because the hallway is very quiet. They have a TV area, but I don't believe there's televisions in the actual room so that it's much quieter than when my mom was in Kalamazoo, where everybody had their own television, and they were on very, very loud. It's a quieter area for my dad, which is great for his dementia because it just gets too distracting with all those televisions going and stuff. It's a nice, clean, and updated facility. The rooms are nice, too. Last month we went to a picnic where they loaded up all the people and their wheelchairs and took them to a park and took a grill to the park. The family came and met the residents at the park. We were under a pavilion, and it was really nice and really special. They put forth a lot of effort to do it. They seem to be happy when family visits. One time we weren't there for a little while because my mom was having problems, and we didn't see my dad. His nurses were like, "We're so glad you came. We were hoping you guys would come soon. He needs to see you." It was just really nice because they like family that come in."
