My mom moved into Sierra Del Sol four weeks ago. Sierra Del Sol is comparable to most other places that I looked into. It’s very pleasant and handicapped accessible. I believe they do repaint and re-floor every time someone moves in. Showers are all easily accessible with lots of handrails. They have nice closets in her a small one-bedroom. They have an alert button that they wear around their necks, and if they need help wheeling to and from, someone will come and help. I’ve talked to them quite often, and they’re all very helpful and very nice. It seems like if my mom has a problem or needs something, they’ll make sure that she gets the care. They have been very helpful with just about any problem we have had. However, it seems like they need a bit more help. They seem to be short on help, especially on the weekend.

We didn't know at the time that Sierra Del Sol Senior Living is assisted living, and you had to eat at a certain time and it wasn't going to work for my mom. The person we talked to was great. They treated us nicely. She even gave us a pie when we left that they had cooked in their kitchen. It was very nice. They had activities and crafts and stuff like that.

The people at Sierra Del Sol seem to be very friendly. The accommodations were very small, which was the biggest turn-off for us. The staff showed us a '2-bedroom' (which had been a 1-bedroom) and a studio that was married together to make one unit. It was so small. I like the location. I like the staff, but the rooms were just way too small. It appears to be well maintained. The couple of people that I talked to seemed to be very happy. I wouldn't have a problem moving there if the room was larger. Other than the fact that the rooms were too small, everything we saw was excellent.

Sierra Del Sol Senior Living seemed to have a lot of activities and the people were happy and active. They were working on puzzles and doing different things. The staff was pretty good and helpful. Everything was good, including the rooms. They had a television there.

Wow! What a great community! I wish I was old enough to move in! I am so pleased that I found a place for my mom to move that puts my mind at ease. I recently toured Sierra del Sol (and am going to move my mom in) and I was blown away with the hospitality and services offered here. While on my tour not only did staff members take time to introduce themselves but so did the manager. That really says a lot to me. I’ve been touring several places and nothing quite felt like home for mom until we came here. My mom is a picky eater and she loved the menu and can’t wait to start dining here. The rooms are so spacious and perfectly sized for my moms needs. Since she’s gotten older it’s been harder for her to move around and her room and the entire building accommodates for this very well. My mom has always been a social butterfly but with age and less mobility has had less opportunity to socialize. It makes my heart so happy to know that my mom will be able to attend events and socialize with people her own age once again. I am so excited to hear all about all the activities my mom gets to experience thanks to Sierra del Sol! I am just so happy and thankful we found this place! I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a family member they care about or for themselves. Seriously, this place has so much to offer!

During my last visit, I was impressed with how much they offer! The leisure areas and activities available to the residents were inclusive and hands-on. They had a visiting area with a beautiful grand piano. I love music and I am really happy to know that is available to the residents.

My mother was a resident at this place for 2 months in assisted living. Generally she was well received and well treated until she had to make an emergency room visit and eventually hospice. It was after this that it became evident that three of her most valuable heirloom's became missing. In her will, she had planned to hand these down to her heirs. One of them was a 100-year-old engagement ring that her father gave her mother. The others included a wedding set and cocktail ring. All together of which most likely valued over 25K, but were priceless to family as they were seen on her hand throughout our lifetime. Shameful, that while she was suffering and dying - someone was violating her and her heirs. How heartbreaking that someone could be so heartless. Director was protective of her staff and claimed that no one knew of her heirlooms that were seen on her hand every day. Shame to this facility! A police report was filed, but to no avail so far almost a year and a half later

Sierra Del Sol was very nice. The rooms were in good sizes. They had all the amenities. They were very nice. Their dining area was very nice. They had three good meals a day. They had menus where you could choose what you wanted. There was also food after hours, if you wanted to snack. They had food whenever you needed it. They had food that you could bring into the room if you wanted to. They had a little microwave in the room that you could you use. The staff was very nice and very pleasant. We really enjoyed it. They had lots of activities. They had a library also. They also a room where you could play games, do puzzles, or do whatever you wanted to do. They had areas that you could go outside to sit and enjoy.

A year ago I would have given a 4 star rating to this facility in spite of the constant turnover of executive directors, lack of leadership and training for the staff. The rating would have been based solely on the dedication of the majority of the caregivers. But when my mother could not care for her basic needs herself I noticed the care declined. When I needed hospice, there was a clear resentment on the part of the staff to their presence (probably because they questioned the care my mother was receiving). I was promised that my mom would be turned every 2 hours, as she could no longer turn on her own and her bedsores were getting worse. This did not happen and when I called it to the attention of the head nurse she reassured me it would be fixed. It was not. I hired a private caregiver who was there 5 hours a day, 4 days a week and there were many days when she told me she did not see a caregiver come in at all while she was there. Again, I called it to the nurse's attention and received promises, but nothing changed. With the help of hospice, I finally brought my mother home because on the days my caregiver was not there and I would arrive, there were too many instances when I found her in a soiled diaper and dirty sheets, which made it even more difficult to keep up with her sores. I blame this on lack of training, lack of a consistent executive director and the resentment towards the hospice nurses. If you have a parent who can pretty much care for themselves with minimal help, this might be a good facility, but I would never recommend it to an elderly person who is bedridden. I wish there would have been honesty in the fact that they really were not equipped to deal with someone in my mom's condition. But that would have cost them money by losing a resident. So very sad.

Emeritus was very nice and very clean. They have studio and one-bedroom apartments. The staff was very nice, very careful, and kind with all the residents. The food was good, and they had a large selection with separate menus for lunch and dinner.

After a very nice tour and being assured that our mother would truly enjoy living at Emeritus we decided to move her there. The facility itself it very nice and clean, they have a great activities calendar although it stays the same most of the time. The food and service in the dining area are terrible. Just ask any of the residents during meal time and they will agree. Emeritus has tried to resolve the service issues but nothing has changed. The menu looks appealing but the food is just not tasty or easy to eat. They run out of things constantly so your loved one is forced to make alternate selections all the time. Please, please ask to dine there and try more than one meal. I would have to say they are understaffed most of the time. If you an independent senior then you will be fine but if help is needed this is not the place for you. They currently do not have a facilities director/manager although their sales staff is wonderful and is always available to field any questions/problems that may arise. They also recently lost their full time RN and their Activities Director but have assured us they will be replaced. I would definitely ask the ratio of caregivers to residents and spend some time at the facility talking to current residents. Overall the living conditions are good but they food is not good and they are understaffed.

I had also been to Emeritus at Pantano. It was quite nice. It was a little more classy, a lot nicer building, and the floor plans were quite good for what you needed. They didn't have a full kitchen, but they had at least enough facility where you could cook a few snacks, frozen dinners, or things like that. You had a little refrigerator and a little microwave. They had activities. They had a pretty good calendar of special events and places to go to. I didn't read the list of stuff, but I was sure there were group outings in the list, and I thought they had other entertainment within the facility there from time to time, but that's one reason this was more expensive.

I visited Emeritus at Pantano. It was a good tour. The rooms/apartments were spacious and homey. They were nice people. The dining room was very much like a restaurant. They showed us some different activities, but I wasn't able to spend the time to watch anything.

This is not a good place for your loved one. Staff turnover is incredibly high, the food is bad, elevators often fail, the place literally stinks. I get it , its cheap, but beware that you get what you pay for.

Emeritus was bright and airy. The staff was absolutely fantastic and nice. The two people who gave me the tour and answered my questions were great. They made follow-up phone calls. The rooms were very nice also and it was sort of in between the two facilities that I visited. They had plenty of activities. Nobody looked bored and everybody looked energetic and engaged that's why I thought it would be better for my mom. I thought she would be comfortable at Emeritus. It was slightly smaller than the other two places and the price was all about the same.

The first thing I noticed about Emeritus was it was clean. It seemed very busy. There was a lot going on there. There were a lot of people coming and going. The staff, I can tell, is a little bit over-zealous and too eager to get my mother in there. I thought they were a little clumsy in the way they showed the facility. My mother wasn't very happy. The rooms were small for the price they were asking.

I did go see Emeritus. It’s not very far from where I lived and where she’s been living, too. It seems pretty nice. It’s larger than the place that she is in now. It’s close to where I live so that part of it is good. They were maybe a $1000 less than where she’s staying now. The rooms are much smaller. It actually has more people in it than the place that she lives now. It looked like it was pretty nice and they have a lot of activities. They have different kinds of games. They have movies very often. They have people coming in for quite a few things. It looked like their meals were pretty good. They have quite a bit of space outside and people liked to be outside very much; she used to as well.

Emeritus at Pantano is a pretty facility. In comparison to where my father lives right now, it's a newer building. My father was there for about two months. The staff there were fine. Their rooms were very clean and attractive, but they're expensive. My dad was in a studio room and he was just too crowded there. Also he didn't like the food they served there.
Grateful!

We got my wife settled down at Emeritus at Pantano. She's in a 400 square feet apartment. The place is comfortable and it has a good friendly atmosphere. The food is good. They have good activities. They have a church, a library, daily exercise and tour of the town. The staff is helpful, although I think they are understaffed.

The rooms at Emeritus at Pantano were very nice. I know they are doing a lot of remodeling. The staff are very nice and helpful. If my dad is to move to a facility, he would be right there.

This is a beautiful 2 story building set in a residential area but close to everything. It borders a national park. The views are nice. Yhry hsave am enclosed coutyard with walking trails, smoking areas, sitting areas, greenery and desert landscape, a gazebo,, patio, and bbq area. They have studio, one and 2 bedroom apartments. The inside decor is nice. They have a formal dining room. activities room, beauty salon, and sitting rooms with tvs. They have a pool table. They offer housekeeping and laundry once a week. They offer three meals and snacks in the formal dining room which seats 120. It is restaurant style with 3 entrees and can have grilled cheese, p and j, fruit, or salad for alternatives. The food is very good. They have a house doctor and a nurse practitioner who come in twice a week. They have an RN and another nurse during week and on call. They do all 3 levels of care. All caregivers are certified an they have med techs. They transport to appointments. Each resident gets an emergency pendabt which calls over a pager system in building. The staff seems very caring. They are a very active community with exercise program, bingo, socials, entertainment, karaoke, bbqs. and parties. They go out to shopping and other community events weekly. This seems a very nice facility
