"I liked Desert Springs Gracious Retirement Living a lot. I liked everything about it. It was very clean, very well organized, and had friendly people. The rooms were a bit small, and the price was too high. Their dining area looks really nice. They have three meals a day, and they will bring food to your room if you need it. It was very welcoming, open, clean, and I think the place was fairly new. They were having at that time, bingo games going on. You could hear people laughing and having a good time. There was a movie theater, and people in there watching a movie. They had a very full calendar; they also gave me a copy of their calendar. They have apartments and casitas. I really liked it, and I'm disappointed that it costs too much. The person who gave me the tour was very, very friendly. She knew her stuff, and she was well informed."

"We toured La Sonora at Dove Mountain. We were able to talk to an adviser. We liked everything about it. The staff was very good, very professional, and very personable. It's a new facility and everything was spotless. Everything was good. The layout was good. We couldn't go into the rooms because there was COVID in that area. The atmosphere felt very comfortable and very inviting."

"I toured The Hacienda at the River. The atmosphere, it's beautiful. The staff was good. The person who I worked with listened to me and everything I had to say, and she answered all my questions really well. It was just a pleasant experience. Each area has a kitchen and it was like going to a hotel. It's very clean and it's nicely decorated. There's a garden, and it's like going on vacation."

"The Forum at Tucson's rooms are very wide open which I personally like the best. The only downside is that it's a very large facility, and for our mom, it would be a bit overwhelming for her to get around. They had a nice list of amenities, and it was a lovely place. "

"My mom went to Handmaker. Overall, it was good. I actually was able to stay with my mom there the whole time. They provided a cot for me. Initially, we had some issues with the staff just providing my mom pain medications. I felt like they were short-handed. At first, I would tell them my mom needed medication and they were telling me, “Oh, we have reports to get done.” But after that, they were very good. Everything about them was great. The food and the service were good. They were very helpful in getting my mom on hospice. The living facility part was great, also. "

Club House, active Activities Board, daily coffee and newspaper, fenced heated pool and hot tub, well-kept secure grounds, dog park, garbage pickup at the door twice a week, two potlucks a month, monthly Koffee Klutch, flat enough to easily walk, native plants and wildlife, plenty of parking, convenient location, inexpensive."

"Villa Hermosa looked fine. It was very inviting. My husband and I went, and the people looked very happy. They had a lot of amenities and a lot of social time. They had a happy hour for the residents, which is kind of fun. It was very clean and very open."

"I am staying at a 55+ apartment called The Place at Wilmot North. I have been here for a couple of months. They have a pretty good schedule of activities like weekly outings, and they have a van that takes you to the store. It is strictly independent living. We have a pool and a Jacuzzi."

"I've been in Carefree Village Estates. It looked very friendly online. The staff member that I worked with is fantastic. They've assisted me with trying to get into the place and worked really hard with me as far as finances. The whole moving experience was made easier by them. They've gone out of their way for me and really, really helped me out. They're not serving food, but they have activities here. There's arts and crafts, a pool, and a billiards rooms. There are some fun activities. They try and get people involved. It's a really good experience. The whole property is very well kept and really, really nice. I have a beautiful home for $1,150, which is huge, with washer-dryer hookups. It's a two-bedroom. It's really, really nice."

"We toured The Hacienda at the Canyon. They have the capacity of an independent building, like a casita or a bungalow. We wanted a place that was not part of a complex. Even though it's got all the amenities, it's a separate building. We like the place very much. We are on a waiting list, so we intend to move there. The tour guide was very informative, very friendly, very nice to talk with, very personable, and knowledgeable. We had one meal there, and it was very good. It's a new place. It's modern. All the amenities are pretty much what you find anywhere. They've got all the graduated care facilities. They've got great décor and great ambiance. They have a gym and a pool. They have different activities for seniors. They have everything."

"Broadway Proper was great, and it was welcoming. Everything I saw was very nice. The room was small, and that's typical on any of these places though. Part of the tour was that they would introduce you to the staff and the people that might be dealing with my parents, and everyone was very friendly and outgoing. I thought it was a great place. I was happy and pleased with everything that they had shown me. "

"Mom is at The Fountains at Cholla. The price was cheaper than the other facility that we looked at. She has a beautiful apartment with all the amenities. It’s reasonably priced for what she is getting. The setup was very nice with the dining room and covered tables with a waitress. There is a fairly decent selection in their menu, and they do get to choose what they want from the menu. They have a wonderful brunch on Sundays. The only problem I have is transportation. It's in their selected days and their selected hours. Mom does enjoy the paint classes. They have different activities scheduled. It all depends on what people like. I feel good withfor my mother being there. "
