Independent Living Communities in Gilbert, AZ

"Cadence Living Chandler is a lovely place and they have a whole lot of wonderful amenities. It would be, from what I saw, a great place to live. They have a lot of activities. I liked everything we saw. I didn't see anything much that we didn't like at all. What my husband specifically liked was that they had a great arts and crafts room. It's a very sunny, open, bright arts and crafts room. We liked the fact that you can eat any time of the day, get juice, some water, or if you want some wine any time of the day, just come and get it. There are a lot of really nice amenities for those who can afford them. You don't have to bring anything. They have everything that's supposed to be in the kitchen, and they have the washer and dryer. The staff during the tour was very amenable. She showed me everything and she described everything to me and answered all my questions. I already had a friend that lived there and she invited us over for lunch. They have a pool, outdoor spaces, and a garden."

"My parents are in Atria Chandler Villas. The people and staff are very nice and friendly. There are a lot of activities. The rooms are small but good. You can't expect a lot. The only problem that we have with that place is they don't do a lot of extra caregiving. They do medications and stuff like that, but you have to pay extra. It's more for really independent seniors. They like the food. They have a two-bedroom with a tiny kitchen, a little dining area, a living room, and a little back porch where they can sit outside. "

"It was awesome and very, very nice. I saw one room, and it was very nice. The staff that I met was very courteous. They have everything that I need. They have a library, walking areas, pool, and dining."

"I chose The Park at Copper Creek because it's a little secluded away from Scottsdale and busy traffic in that area. The other thing is that they provide an excellent menu. This is an independent living and the chef here is outstanding. It's just wonderful. They provide breakfast. We're locked in and it's secured. The rooms are very nice. It's a little cheapie on the inside with the amenities, but otherwise, it's a good size apartment for the pricing as well as utilities. I would recommend that they designate a beautiful little smoking area for everyone to go to because they don't have one of those here and that's very disturbing. The employees here are lovely and very friendly. They've done a very good job with modeling the area and furnishing it plus they have a lot of amenities here, and there's staff available to help you. It kind of brings about a community effort when you have those kinds of things around. The food is gorgeous, and they've got beautiful buffets. They have alcohol as well. There are tons of activities, exercise classes, crafts for painting, crafts for health, and crafts for safety and security. Every single day, something is going on. They put together little trips, and they took a group of people up to the Grand Canyon. It was terrific. The facility was very good. I have a little pet, and I'm in a 1-bedroom apartment with a little patio out front. We go out and take little walks, but it's very private. These little apartments are quite private. The only thing I don't like is that they have a boxed window kind of an air-conditioner, rather than having it centrally, and I didn't like that, especially in Arizona. There's no grass anywhere as well."

"We toured Discovery Point Retirement Community. The in-person visit was very good and very informative. The host was very friendly. What I like most about is that they do have transportation available. The community activities, we like those a lot. It seemed like the building was very clean and well-maintained. The food was very good."

"I went here and I liked it. The apartment was bigger than the other place I went to, and then there was more room in it. The lady that showed me around was nice and friendly. I just felt more comfortable there. The one I looked at was like a one-bedroom, it had a kitchen and a bedroom and a living room and everything. The dining area looked nice, it looked like a nice area. The surroundings were nice, it was pretty. It seemed like a nice place. She told me there were a lot of activities, a lot of stuff to do. I saw people sitting around."

"The Village at Ocotillo is very nice, and the meals were gourmet. I liked it less because it didn't seem to have as much room because it seems to be crowded. But it would have been desirable, and it would have been expensive. They had a beauty parlor and a physical therapist who would help you into the pool. The place is smaller, but it would have been fine. "

"Fellowship Square (Fellowship Square Historic Mesa) was wonderful. I liked everything: the food, the people, and the room. I thought the rooms were nice. They had some studios, which were small for me, but they worked for some other people. They had a wonderful dining room. They had a lot of stuff to do there, but there wasn't anything going on when I visited. They had bocce ball, which I have never played, and cards. They had a game room, an exercise or therapy room, and a library. They had very nice people who loved it. "

"I have decided to choose Acoya Mesa for myself. I have a friend who moved there and I went down to visit her a couple of times, it's a beautiful facility and she's got a beautiful apartment. They've got all the latest amenities and fabulous restaurant-style dining with lots of nice choices. She's very happy there. It's only three years old, it's top-of-the-line in all respects. They only have pretty few vacancies, and we just got lucky and got a 1-bedroom 1-bath that's a larger one. The apartment that I got was down the end of the hall on the third floor, and it's got great big bay windows and a walk-out patio with views of all the mountain ranges. It's just fantastic and will fit my needs. I was not disappointed to see the place, it's got all the amenities like a movie theater. They're fully staffed, they have PT people and medical people. The dining area was fully open with lots of windows and light. I saw their independent living, but if you'd have to go into assisted living, you won't have to move. That's a very important point."

"Oasis at Mesa Palms is excellent and has huge rooms with plenty of room. The food was excellent. The staff was most accommodating. "

"It is my first choice. The people there are incredible. The rooms are nice. They also have assisted living so if you need to move into the next level, they have it all there, which is really nice because not all places have that. This is a major positive for them. They put out newsletter with birthday greetings, recognitions, announcements for different plays and different parties. They also put out information for volunteer work and various activities like fitness program, etc."

"I put my mother in Brookdale Apache Junction, and she likes it. It's excellent. The rooms and staff are excellent. The layout is very good. They have a swimming pool, library, TV room, pool room, nurses on staff and just about anything you can think of."

"I went to McDowell Village. My first impression was positive, but the location was not as good as the other one. The person who gave me the tour was excellent. The room was very nice, it's a newer property, they had a gym, and a kind of coffee shop where you could go anytime of the day or night and get a cup of coffee."
