"My mom was in respite care at Brookdale Central Paradise Valley. It was just for two weeks. Everything about it was great. The staff members were fantastic. The rooms were very nice. She liked the food quite a bit, and she said that there was plenty of food. It was still under COVID restrictions, but they have a pool, a cafeteria, game rooms, and a lot of social activities. She enjoyed them quite a bit. They had one of the best prices I found. She enjoyed her stay there, and I would recommend them to anybody."

"The people at Andara Senior Living by Cogir were very good, but it was huge, and I likened it to a cruise ship. It was fancy, very over-the-top decoration and all, but that's not what I was looking for. Upkeep was excellent. The room was really nice. They have little kitchenettes, and it was more like a small apartment. The dining area was huge, and they had a very good chef, and you can eat anytime you want. It was wonderful. The pool was lovely."

"I liked that everything was all in one place. The rooms have kitchens. For their staff, on a scale of 1 to 5, I'd give a 10. The woman we worked with was fabulous. They have some type of fitness center. It was spotless."

"My mother is currently in the Vi at Grayhawk. The overall experience has been fine. Everything has been very, very good, especially with COVID; they have gone above and beyond to keep everybody safe. They're very diligent, very good, and I have nothing bad to say about them at all. They have laundry, although there was even a while that we stopped the housekeeping, because we didn't want anybody in her room. They do have amenities, but we haven't been able to experience them very much because she's been locked in her room. The dining room is closed, the library is closed, all of the classes are closed, and any of the arts and crafts, fun, music, and anything like that is closed down. It is a big complex. It’s one of those things that you buy into, you can live in a house in the neighborhood, and progressively as you get older, you move into the other areas. It's a reasonable expense for care."

"Vi at Silverstone has a ridiculous non-refundable fee, but the room is fantastic. It is a very nice place. I met the residents. They were all very nice and very happy there. The food was OK. The room is almost like an apartment. You can have a two-bedroom or a single bedroom, and then you have a big dining room. They have certain activities, too. The place is very clean and very well maintained; however, it is definitely not somewhere where you can have people has no means to go to. They wouldn't allow dogs, which is ridiculous. I thought it was a little bit exuberant. Considering the cost, I don't think it is reasonable for normal person. I met a few people who were all very happy. I didn't see an unhappy face."

"Clarendale Arcadia was a very nice place. It's well-kept, clean, and smells good. The staff was excellent. They've been there for a while. They know their stuff and they know the product that they have. They show off well when taking us for tours and stuff and they did a good job of selling it to you. They have a well-set up dining area for memory care folks. The food smelled that good. They have a good memory care facility. It's a separate section. It has an atrium in the center. The glass from the rooms and in the other areas looks out onto the atrium so it looks inviting. There is a great area there where they do cooking stuff. They have a room that has stars on the ceiling that would lit on low light levels. It's got certain colors in it, too. They have very tactile areas where you can touch different things that older people would recognize immediately and might kick back their memories. They had a small basketball thing for them to play on, like an arcade one. They were using kind of like a soccer ball, but it was much lighter so that nobody could get hurt or anything. They had a second- story pool that had a chair lift for it so that you could lower someone into it. Just put them on the chair and get them into the pool."

"I like McDowell Village very much. I'm planning to move there in June of this year. I am very impressed with the general manager. He showed us the place and spent a lot of time with us. The remodeled apartments are excellent, however, the un-remodeled ones I would not want. The amenities that I saw were the swimming pool, the workout room, the walking area, and the social activities."

"LifeStream is a great place to live. I am at independent living and the people are very warm. It's like a little village, it's all a 1-story apartment, and you have a carport cover for your car right near your front door. We do Tai-Chi, there's a swimming pool and we also have exercises at the pool, we have movies on Friday nights and there's bingo. We also organize a play for the seniors here twice a year. It's a gated community and very safe. We're like an extended family."

"I went to a place called the Madison Meadows. The studios that I saw were a little small. Then I saw another one that was slightly bigger, and then the one bedroom was better and the two bedrooms very nice. All of them opened onto a courtyard. So, people could have a little bit of furniture and plants by the door. Also, they usually had another door that was indoors. The people were very friendly and nice. The people that I talked to said they really liked it. The food was OK. One thing that interested me was that, I do have long-term health care that had the component for home care and they said that I could use it there. If I reached the point where I would need something like assisted living or a homecare was appropriate, I could do it there. I could bring my own people in or hired my own nurse. That was really nice. "

"We went to ACOYA Troon. I liked that the decor was modern. It had high 16-foot ceilings in the apartments, which was very nice. It feels more spacious. It's in the desert, so because of its location, it's smaller. It didn't have as much landscaping because they wouldn't allow it up there. After all, it's all desert landscaping. But you didn't have like the amount of patios. They had a few apartments with patios on the corner, but only very few. And around the whole property, it's mostly desert. We went to the dining room and looked at the meals they were serving and it was all fresh, nice food, well prepared and well presented. They have three meals today. You can have six meals. You can eat all day long if you want to. So that's included. And they have the same amenities as the other places, house cleaning every two weeks, and they do sheets and towels every week. And of course, if you need any help with assistance or anything, the resources are right there."

"The attitude of Fellowship Square of Phoenix was so far superior. Other facilities just looked at me as though I'm just a person they had to make a sale to. In this place, it's a whole different attitude. They even had a welcome sign with my name on it. When you first drive in, the first thing you notice is the various buildings and curved pathways. There were trees, grasses, a pond, and a place to sit and listen to a babbling brook. The design of the building has arches, including the windows, and it's just not institutional looking at all. It's very, very friendly, and inviting. The bedrooms are adequate sizes and the bathrooms seemed great with bars in it. Everything's in COVID, so things have been kind of shut down, but they have speakers that come in, films to watch, craft activities, book clubs, card playing, and a library. They also take them on trips to the grocery store, to the doctors, and sometimes to restaurants. The staff was outstanding. We've bumped into various people and they would stop and talk to you. They were very friendly and all said that they loved it there, and that it was the best place to live. The residents liked it as well, and they stopped and talked to the staff too, so that was very impressive, that the staff was interested in the residents, and the residents felt comfortable talking to them, even though they might have somebody that they were showing around. They also have casitas as well as the buildings. I looked at both, but I was more interested in an individual casita, and having that kind of independence would be very nice."

"My father is a resident at Oasis at Mesa Palms. It's an independent living community that is friendly and clean. His room is clean and spacious. It's also a big perk to have a washer and dryer inside the apartment. The dining area and the food look acceptable. I know they have a gym, a rec room, a cafeteria, and a pool. They have activities the residents can sign up for. They also offer transportation to the doctor and the grocery."
