"I visited Sunrise of Gilbert for my husband a week earlier than scheduled. It was very nice, they are very personable, and they have lots of activities for all levels of care. It was well run, and the only thing I didn't care about, but I think that's probably a necessary thing is that the memory care is on the third floor, and they don't get to go outside except for a balcony where they have a seating area. They don't get to sit on the grass. It's kinda in a congested area, where there's lots of homes or stores around it. Other than that, I was very pleased with it. The food smelled wonderful, but I wasn't able to try them. I thought the place was attractive, it was beautifully done, and it is close to my daughter's house."

"I chose them for my friend, and it’s wonderful. I liked that it’s halfway between her boys and me. They have a salon inside the memory care, and the physicians go there, so she doesn’t need to go anywhere. It has two dining areas, the rooms are a good size, and there's a full-sized bed, a nightstand, and a chair. They come by and check on her all the time. They have a TV room where they all go sit, she can eat anytime she wants, and they have a little water fountain. She likes that. They were very nice and really impressed me. "

"Verena at Gilbert is relatively new. Our rooms have never been lived in because the company that had this facility originally sold it to this new company. So everything is very new and nice-looking, and everybody's very nice. The staff is very good, everybody's been very friendly and I couldn't ask for more. There's an exercise room, a movie theater, a library, a barber shop or beauty shop, a swimming pool, and a salon kinda like a spa thing. The dining area is very good and the food is also very good."

"My dad moved into Elmwood Senior Living about a month ago. They have the amenities we were looking for. He enjoys the food; he says it's great. They are currently upgrading the facility. However, they have been extremely helpful every time we have a question. Regarding activities, they are currently transitioning their events coordinator, and I think when they start adding more activities, it will improve."

"Atria Chandler Villas is a little bit older facility. At first I thought maybe it was a little bit too old, but as soon as we walked in, the inside is very well maintained, and the people were very friendly. It is just a very comfortable, friendly atmosphere. Everything is very well kept. There is a nice dining room and seating area for people to sit in the front lobby area to have coffee. The apartment is very nice. The one my mom got they replaced the sink and repainted it. They just fixed it up really nice. They didn't have model units, but a couple of the residents let us go in and take a look at the two of different sizes. We ate there with my mom when we moved her in. My mom has been eating there several times a day. Not everything is great, but we expected it. They have a very large menu; we had a nice sandwich and salads, and they were good. My mom tells me that the food has been good. They have different things like they have bingo, and they take them out to go to outings. They do have some church services, and they have a library. They have a little exercise type activities. My mom is not one to really be out that much, so it wasn't critical for her, but they leave something on their door at the beginning of every week to let them know what activities are happening. "

"I loved Horizon Bay. But one of the reasons we went with another facility is because it was super expensive. When I visited, Dana, the lady that showed us around was awesome. Every place we looked at, she knew the answer. She was very nice. We saw a model room and then we also saw the room that my father would have got has he gone there. I thought the apartments were just fine. There's a small kitchen, a small living room, and a fairly good bed and bathroom. When we were there, they were playing bingo. I liked the interior. Everything is really pretty in there. They have a piano, a library, and a fireplace. The hallways, the carpeting, everything was bright. It looked really nice. "

"Mom is here, and it's a great facility. I highly recommend their assisted living facility. She has a one-bedroom apartment. The nurse that works there is extraordinary. I would say that 95% of the caretakers are above average and excellent. There was only caregiver there that I didn't like. Mom is given two meals a day. They provide buses for the residents. They have been helping my mom go to breakfast. They also come in and make sure she takes her protein shake. They offer her snacks. They have a full-time activity director. If somebody doesn't engage, they go out and they try to get them engaged and make them comfortable."

"The Park At Copper Creek was very nice and very expensive. The salesperson, Jenny, was a very, very accommodating person. They've had a big turnover there in staffing. The food was OK as I recall. The place was very modern and very up to date."

"I am living in Cadence Living Chandler. I liked the all-inclusive environment, three meals a day, variety of different activities, and the fact that there is assisted living if one finds it needed in the future. You don't have to relocate to a different apartment. They have staff available, and they all seem very experienced and interact very well with the residents here. The food is excellent, I think that's one of the pluses that we've experienced. It's only been opened since March, so it's pretty much a new facility. There's a whole monthly schedule of activities every day on a daily basis."

"We visited Revel Scottsdale. I like that everything was all in one place and one price. The accommodations were lovely. They have movies and exercises. They got a calendar of activities."

"My friend is at The Village at Ocotillo. It is really good for assisted living. They're really good. The food is even better. They have learning seminars, a theater, go overboard decking, and they have decorating. They have Tuesday and Friday happy hours, and they are very friendly. They will even come in and check on you in the middle of the night to make sure that you haven't fallen out of bed. The downside of the place is that it's very expensive, and they charge you for everything. If you wanted them to change your sheets, it would cost $20. Even though it's assisted living, it's very expensive. It's $7700 for a one-bedroom with a kitchen, a bathroom, and of course, a sitting area. However, everybody is really friendly and upbeat. They try to get people to talk to each other, so they're not fully bored. They're really good at making sure you take your medicine and take a shower. My friend wanted women to give her a shower, but they sent a man and she didn't like that, so she didn't take the shower. So, I went to the front desk and said she'd really prefer women, and then they gave her only women to take a shower. The place is also very clean, bright, and uplifting. The activities at that one were really nice, too."
