"My mother has been in Brookdale North Mesa for about a month and a half now. It is close to our house, and open and airy. It has bright-colored walls and high ceilings. There is a lot of airflow. Everybody is happy. It is a nice place. My mother said everybody is so nice. When we walked in the front door the first day, three or four people stopped and waved and said hi to us before we got a chance to talk to anybody. They have been very good to my mother and even to us as visitors. My mother is sharing a room with one other woman. It is an apartment. There is nothing inside except for a bathroom and one room and they divide that room in half. There is a library, a TV center, and a major dining hall. The staff members have been great compared to where she was before with a rehab place. They're very attentive. My mother seems to be very happy with the meal. There are plenty of activities every day. The value for the money is very good."

"I went to Legacy Retirement Residence of Mesa. People were friendly. I know they had a happy hour and several came out and they were so excited for happy hour. They got juice, ice cream, and popcorn. They had a live band that was playing music for them. The elders were dancing. So if we wanted some activities, that would be the place to go. I know that they're renovating the facility to bring it up to date. The rooms were very nice and they were fairly large. They have one-bedrooms and two-bedrooms."

"I went to Acoya Mesa. It's lovely. It's only five years old. Everything was very clean and neat. The people were friendly. We only met one person, the tour person. So I didn't see anybody else. She was very knowledgeable. The facility is beautiful. It's very nice."

"The Beehive Homes of Gilbert is a unique residence being 22 beds. The Beehive is small enough to offer personal care and attendance, while being large enough to offer aspects of a larger "community." It has proven to be perfect for my loved one. He is well cared for, I'd even say loved, by his caregivers and the rest of the staff. The staff is well trained. The management cares deeply about the workings of the residence and is hands on. The ratio of caregivers is good. The Activity Director has quite the variety of activities planned and gets the residents up and out to do, each at their level. The kitchen! Oh my, the kitchen is amazing! Chef Rodney offers breakfast to order, he bakes cookies and other deserts fresh every day, and he IS a chef. He serves the residents amazing meals that are well balanced, beautiful and varied. The Beehive lucked out when Chef Rodney came to work! Not everyone wants or needs a swimming pool, a tennis court, or a bus to go shopping. For residents who simply want to LIVE, to be cared for, the Beehive fits the bill perfectly. The Beehive is small, the Beehive is caring, the Beehive is a perfect place for my loved one."

"I moved into Heritage Village Assisted Living & Memory Care. They're very caring people that help take care of things. If you need help, they're right there. The food is good, and I gained weight, and that's not good. It's a very friendly place. They have someone they call a housemother, and she runs around a lot, comes in, and makes sure everything's all right. You can always call her if you need something. I've never had an issue since I've been here. The staff is so helpful. The facility is very clean. It's perfect. If there's a mess, it's taken care of right away. Places like this are expensive. This place is very close to my daughter's house. I'm only a half-mile away from her."

"My friend was placed in Fellowship Square Historic Mesa, but her dementia was too bad for her to live there. So we had to get her into a group home. This community was very good, I would recommend them. The interior of her apartment was very nice. I tried dining there and their dining room was very nice. They have a workout room, they have a lot of things like a choir, and they play bingo. It's very nice and the staff is excellent."

"When I went over at Sunrise of Gilbert, I realized that they had facilities to accommodate just about any kind of a person that came in there, but when I sat down and talked to the representative, he filled me in very quickly that this is a private-owned company, and therefore there are no individuals living there that have support through Medicaid or otherwise. We toured the rest of the facility more or less, with what it would mean if I moved there as an independent person. It's very clean. They have a lot of activities, but just the way the place was built, they didn't go on the cheap. The person who gave the tour was a young person. very well dressed, very professional, very informative, and took all the time I needed to look the place over. I wasn't rushed. As my situation moves along, I will keep in touch with him to see how things are changing in regards to what I look at and what I'm thinking about doing. I saw the dining area and I saw their menus and it was very, very, very pleasant. It seemed like eating at a very nice restaurant. Not just comfort food, they had some of the finer things. If you have to downsize, you can move into someplace like Sunrise of Gilbert and feel like you haven't just thrown your whole life out the window. There's still a lot of life left and opportunities for you to explore and meet new people."

The apartment was very nice and roomy, and they had everything that you would need. The staff was very knowledgeable and had been there for a long time. "I toured Sky Vista. There wasn't anything I disliked. I thought it was a nice place. It's just a little bit expensive. It was a memory care facility, and they had that well done. It is very well put together for that kind of problem, specifically, which is what I was looking for. It looked fantastic. There was a show, a guy singing, and a bunch of people watching it and having a good time. It seemed to me that it was very good."
