Memory Care Communities in Queen Creek, AZ

"Infinite Care in Chandler was immaculate. It smelled terrific and they had an availability. The problem is that my husband is more severe than the other residents in the household. They're more ambulatory and they're verbal, and he's not. He's in a wheelchair and he's not verbal at all. So, their level of care wasn't sufficient. Other than that, it was an beautiful place. The owners are just wonderful people. The rooms were a nice size. They shared a bathroom and they had a master bedroom, but somebody was occupying it. They have a nice little yard out in the backyard and the meals they cooked look good. They have a living room with a big TV in it."

"My in-laws moved to Inspira Gateway. It was a very modern, clean, and updated space. It had been open only three years, so it was new. The food's good and the apartment is very spacious. They had a lot of offerings. They have trivia night, and several opportunities for movies, bunco, games, and other things. The staff has been extremely helpful and friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed."

"I recently toured this community and was really impressed with the amenities, rooms, and outdoor areas. The staff was friendly, and were very helpful, explaining the process of moving in and also showing the community and the activities that were going on when I visited. This community was the nicest one we visited."

"I am living in Cadence Living Chandler. I liked the all-inclusive environment, three meals a day, variety of different activities, and the fact that there is assisted living if one finds it needed in the future. You don't have to relocate to a different apartment. They have staff available, and they all seem very experienced and interact very well with the residents here. The food is excellent, I think that's one of the pluses that we've experienced. It's only been opened since March, so it's pretty much a new facility. There's a whole monthly schedule of activities every day on a daily basis."

"My dad is doing very well in the memory care unit of Brookdale Baywood (Formerly Emeritus at Baywood). They keep his room clean. It is nice and very comfortable. The meals are very well prepared, and they look good to me. The staff has always been very courteous and supportive. We are very pleased with the facility. I think sanitation has been the best. He is not depressed, and he is getting better quality of care in this facility. Everything has been positive. I have no complaints. "

"My first impression when I walked in Emeritus at East Mesa was very good. They had a system that seemed to work for them. The place was clean. The staff was nice and very accommodating. I was happy with the facility. "

"I toured Arbor Rose Senior Care, and the lady that showed me around was Claudia. She showed me all the bedrooms and everything and did a good job. They had three pods and there were eight people to a pod, so they pretty much stay in their own facilities. Then they also have an enhanced care transition building to go to memory care. They have a secure area for smoking, too. My client is a fanatic of the Game Show Channel, so one of the questions that I asked was, "Do you have cable?" And they said, "Yes, it's Cox Cable," and Cox Cable indeed carries the Game Show Network. That was another major thing. When somebody has dementia, they get hung up on these things. The apartment had a walk-in shower, a bathroom, and a big living room. The living room is 195 square feet of living area. There are others that were bigger than this, but you have all the amenities that you need like 24/7 snacks, bedding, laundry, housekeeping, activities, Cox Cable, a day club, a caregiver, medical team, RN, and a director of health and wellness. It's also a new building as well."

"I'm not interested in Whitestone Assisted Living. I feel like it's very dark and I'm not comfortable that the wellness director is only an LPN. It doesn't seem like there's very good medical oversight. The facility was nice and the villa was nice, but it felt like a nursing home, and I don't know that my dad would be comfortable leaving my mother there. I was not impressed with this community. I don't think that it was fairly priced. Whitestone was smaller and darker. The building not only looked older, but it smelled older. I wasn't able to interact with the staff because they were kind of just sitting around. When I went into one of the villas, one of the staff members was on her phone. The other staff member who we talked with was alert. He was very personable and pleasant, but the staff didn't seem to be engaged with the residents beyond just passing medications and performing activities of daily living with the residents. It felt a little disconnected to me. My mom would kind of be left on her own and left to her own devices. The building was old. The lady who toured us had a difficult time getting in and out of a secured gate. The gate was rusted and looked very old. It looked like it needed to be repaired. The rooms seemed distant. Their wellness director is an LPN, and she's distant. She's not connected and involved, so it made me very uncomfortable. I just felt like I would be putting my mom in a room and forgetting about her."

"I like everything about Heritage Village. It's new, small, and very personalized, and I like the location. The staff is very good, very compassionate, helpful, and kind. It's a new place; so they're modern, convenient, with nice showers, and nice bathrooms. "

"Solterra Senior Living at Chandler probably had the most up-to-date security system of all the places I've been to, not only because of the smoking area, for the person to be able to go outside and still be fenced in. They have a security system that at every corner and up and down the hallways, there is a checkpoint. If a person walks by that checkpoint, it records that person. So if somebody comes and say, "I want to come and visit Maria," and I go to her room and she's not there, I can go and ask them to see where Maria is, and they'll be able to pinpoint her to the very last place she passed. It's absolutely incredible. Other places don't have a system like this that actually tracks the person. They had private rooms. It's 40 minutes from the house here, but it is well worth the 40 minutes to go over there. The staff member was very cordial and very informative. He was the only man that showed me around, and all the rest of the facilities were women. I appreciated the women, but he really did a good job of showing everything. He gave me all the information that I needed. All the places gave me the information, but he just had so much more to offer. The place was exceptional."

"Everyone at Acoya Mesa was extremely friendly. Everybody knew everyone. As we came across people, the residents would stop and talk to the staff. It was like a big family. The rooms were some of the nicest that we saw. There was ample closet space. All of the rooms had a full kitchen with a refrigerator and a stove. It felt like each apartment was a small home. They had an outside area with outside heaters set up and a fire pit. Their dining area was restaurant-style. They had menus on all the tables and choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If you didn't want anything off there, then there was a standard menu that you could choose other stuff from. There were a few people doing puzzles and different things. I think their crafting area was above and beyond among all the facilities that I saw. They had actual beading classes, they do painting and jewelry making. I didn't see that level of crafting that goes on anywhere else. I was really impressed with that."

"I was very impressed with Mosaic Gardens Memory Care at Chandler. It was good lighting. There weren't any smells. There weren't any obvious things that would cause me to be concerned. They talked a lot about their Montessori style of care, which I am very interested in. I think my mom would do very well in a community that is inclusive. They're allowing my mom to be an active part of not only taking care of herself but taking care of others, too. They have the ability to help facilitate things that have been meaningful to my mom in her prime like allowing her to continue to sew and just being able to own that as a new home. I think the transition is going to be difficult for my mom and my family in general, but I feel like Mosaic has the ability to successfully transition her. I love that their director of nursing is an RN and that she's very, very involved. She's very hands-on and very genuine. I would say that Mosaic would probably be my number one choice. I love that it's very hands-on. I feel like the activities were so much more than bingo. There weren't any dislikes for me at all. I felt like it was a good community. It's in a great location. The building was clean and laid out very well. It looked a little older on the outside than it did on the inside, which may be a deterrent. The atmosphere was very calm. I toured with my sister and that was the very first thing that she noticed. It was quiet, it seemed joyful, and it seemed peaceful. It was a very lovely atmosphere."

"We chose Brookdale North Gilbert for mom for a couple of reasons. It's 24-hour care. They have a help desk that's managed by a person 24 hours a day. They're installing cameras in the rooms that activate in case a person falls. The camera sends the message to the person working at that help desk 24 hours a day, so that way they can go into the room and check on the person inside. The staff answered all the questions. When I toured the place, someone was performing. We toured the cafeteria, and there's a courtyard, which was nice and it's enclosed. It's surrounded by the facility, so there's no chance of a person getting lost or being in trouble outside the facility. It's kept up pretty nice, and there's a lot of sunshine."

"I toured Brookdale Central Chandler. It's like assisted living and then they have memory care attached to it. They were pricey. You have to have a lot of money to stay there. What I like best about the place is that the facility is really beautiful, and they have nice paths that everybody can walk on. In the assisted living part, it looks like you could have a little more if you pay a lot like you could have bigger rooms. But the studio apartment, where there's one single bed and one chair in there, would only fit a TV and that's it. I don't even see where you could put a dresser in there, so it was that small. The staff was very open and thorough about everything. She would tell me like every time they if they need to get medication, that's $500 more, and if meals were brought to them, that's $500 more. Everything was like $500 more if you add them to the price of the room. By the time we were done, I think we were up to like $7000 a month, and I'm like, 'What?' They had a lot more amenities at that place because their assisted living was next door. They offered more classes and they also had classes where they could teach people with memory care how to do things easier and better for themselves. It seemed like they had more amenities going on, they had more staff, and it was a larger place. However, the rooms were super small. The facilities were very clean and very nice just super small."
