I visited this facility

BeeHive Homes of Gilbert only had 20 patients, so it's quite small. I didn't see my husband there at all. I think he would sit in a chair all day, and the people were quite old. Not that he's not old, he's 81, but he looks a lot younger, and his Alzheimer's is moderate to severe. The place looked like a regular building. They didn't even have a sign out front. It took me a while to find the place. The sign was on the building and not on the road, so it lacked signage. The room was alright. The tour guide was very nice. It looked clean. It was alright; it just wasn't for us.

I visited this facility

I went to look at BeeHive Homes of Gilbert. They have very professional staff. I love the cleanliness. They were very responsive when I said I was interested. Of all the places I toured, they were at the top of my list. They have daily activities in the main great room that are kind of limited, which suited my mom perfectly. They have very spacious bedrooms that would accommodate a full bedroom set and a queen-sized bed. I saw the residents, and they just appeared to be well cared for. The staff was very knowledgeable. She was a nurse, too, which was really nice. She provided a lot of information and seemed caring. The facility was very clean and organized. It was a secure unit, which was nice.

Provider Response

Thank you for your review, Lisa. Although we are not perfect, we try hard to be one of the best senior living communities by being attentive and patient.

I visited this facility

BeeHive Homes of Gilbert was very nice and pleasant. It's clean and everybody seemed happy there. The two people who toured me, (Jennifer, the executive director, and the other lady who greeted me at the door) were very nice and answered all my questions. There was plenty of parking and they had an outdoor area for the residents that were all enclosed so that nobody could get away and nobody could get in. The menu was great. A resident showed me their Easter menu and told me that if I called them ahead of time, I could come and eat a meal with her. They play bingo and they have somebody who comes in and provides activities for them. When I was there, they have a huge screen TV in the living area, (which is right in their dining area too) with comfortable sofas and chairs that people were sitting in and they were watching TV. They have three different room sizes, and the only one they have available right now is the highest-priced one, which my sister wouldn't need as she's more comfortable in a smaller room. One of the caregivers came by us, spoke to us, introduced herself, and was very pleasant. The overall condition of the place was excellent. It was only a year or two old. So, it's in excellent shape and every room has its own bathroom and TV mounted on the wall. Then you could rent furniture from them.

I visited this facility

I was completely impressed, and I love BeeHive Homes of Gilbert. The owner was a very compassionate and thoughtful person that gave us the tour and information. I had my sister go with me, and we were both impressed. We did see the operation of food preparation in the kitchen, and it's a very nice kitchen. The food looked very healthy and very well prepared. When we came in, several patients with some of their nurses there were at the tables and playing games. Everybody seemed quite content and happy. There was nobody upset or anxious. It was peaceful. The rooms were very adequately sized for the patients. The bathrooms were open, and you could tell that they were thoughtful in their design about how to maneuver wheelchairs and all that. They had all of the safety handles. Everything was well placed, spotless, and very, very clean. The staff members were very kind and compassionate. I think all of them were wonderful. We did not talk to all of them, but we observed a lot of their movements and interactions with the patients, and they were just very sweet and very tender with them. It was nice that they had a great big large open living room where everybody could come to the center. They had a very large commercial kitchen. There was even a little room for hairdressing and personal care like pedicures and manicures. There's a laundry room so that people could do their own laundry if they were capable or the staff would use it. There was a large outside patio area and a walking path that was very carefully laid out.

I visited this facility

My mother needed memory care and lived at Beehive for the last 5 months of her life. The staff was extremely caring and loving. The facility is smaller and feels like home the minute you walk in. Everyone (residents, families, staff) feel like family. My mother loved the beautiful outside patio area with birdbath, hummingbird feeders, and colorful flowers. Lots of activities especially designed for residents’ capabilities and led by fun activity directors that always brought smiles to the residents. No set time for breakfast. Residents could get up when they wanted and choose from a few options for breakfast. Living room with nice comfy chairs to ease back pain and help residents stand up. Big screen tv where residents gathered to watch Suns games or football together. Music performers sometimes brought in to entertain. The place was always clean and beautifully decorated for all the holidays. Although at times I wished there was a higher caregiver to resident ratio, I never regretted our choice to place our mother at Beehive. The staff were competent, hardworking, and everyone of them had a good heart.

I visited this facility

The staff at BeeHive Homes of Gilbert seemed all very friendly and knowledgeable. The place fits all the checkmarks we had and we felt it was a good fit for my mom. It was very nice; it was like a larger group home rather than a memory care facility. My mom has arthritis, and it looks like it would be easy for her to move around in. We've looked at the menus and they looked very nice. The facility was very bright and cheerful. These are all first impressions. We haven't had first-hand experience yet but so far, our overall experience has been very good, and the staff seemed very welcoming and helpful. It just felt like it would be a good fit.

I visited this facility

I toured BeeHive Homes Assisted Living. It was really nice. It was a brand-new facility. The staffers I met were very professional. We were just looking for a temporary facility for respite care. They only had three or four residents at that time. The staff was really nice; everything was really nice. The amenities were nice, the ability to customize food was nice, they had TVs in each room, and they had furnished rooms.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

We recently had to put my mother in this assisted living facility. One look at BeeHive House and we knew this was the place. It's brand new and kept very clean. The care for our mother is exceptional and they love her like she was their own grandmother. Thank you for making the transition so easy for all of us.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother is a resident of BeeHive Homes in Gilbert. This new facility is spotless and beautifully decorated. We have fallen in love with every staff member. Each person who interacts with my mom is well-trained, extremely kind and patient, very caring, and goes out of his/her way to assist my mom in any way. They spend time talking to her and doing activities such as jigsaw puzzles, watching movies, etc. The food is amazing! The chef caters to each person's taste which has allowed my mom to have the breakfast and lunch items she is used to eating. The dinners are delicious and the treats are the best. They have created a true home atmosphere here and I'm so thankful my mom can live in this exceptional facility.
