Desert Marigold Senior Living is not a new facility, but it is welcoming. Probably the biggest change we have seen was originally, my mother-in-law was supposed to have breakfast daily, Monday through Friday, and they no longer have that, even though it's advertised as that. Other than that, she's receiving physical therapy from them, and she's done really well with that. She's made some friends there. Like most older facilities, it's in need of a few repairs. They just got a new roof, so we were happy about that. They've been very accommodating to my mother-in-law. When she had certain needs, they were there right away. When her air-conditioners didn't work, they were there immediately to take care of her. She has a one-bedroom apartment. Staff interaction has been good. She goes a couple of times a week to different stores. They have a mystery day where they just get on the van, and it takes them wherever. They have no idea where they're going. They go to Fry's, and they go out to dinner. They have bingo, and happy hour. They have movies, and they have special speakers come in and things like that. They have breakfast, but it's toast and coffee. That's what they're calling breakfast, as compared to what it used to be. It's reasonable, and it's an independent living.

Mom moved in about three weeks ago. I think they do fairly well dealing with her. The staff seems pretty good, so far. The place looks OK and the location works pretty well for me. Mom is in a double room, which works well enough for what she needs.

Mom is here, and it's a great facility. I highly recommend their assisted living facility. She has a one-bedroom apartment. The nurse that works there is extraordinary. I would say that 95% of the caretakers are above average and excellent. There was only caregiver there that I didn't like. Mom is given two meals a day. They provide buses for the residents. They have been helping my mom go to breakfast. They also come in and make sure she takes her protein shake. They offer her snacks. They have a full-time activity director. If somebody doesn't engage, they go out and they try to get them engaged and make them comfortable.

It is my first choice. The people there are incredible. The rooms are nice. They also have assisted living so if you need to move into the next level, they have it all there, which is really nice because not all places have that. This is a major positive for them. They put out newsletter with birthday greetings, recognitions, announcements for different plays and different parties. They also put out information for volunteer work and various activities like fitness program, etc.
