I went to Scottsdale Village Square. They were very, very detailed in the tour. It was pretty quick, but we got through a lot of information. And so, I think the big thing that they hit on was the activities. They had robust activities, which is important for my dad, just because with cognitive decline we want him engaged as much as possible. Scottsdale was also bring your own furniture. The one I looked at was a one-bedroom and we were waiting for a studio, so that's partially the reason why we didn't go to that one, because the only availability was a one-bedroom, which was more expensive obviously. The staff is very knowledgeable and very friendly. I asked a lot of questions and they answered all of them, and it was a pretty quick discussion, but overall they gave some really good information.

My mom moved to Scottsdale Village Square. I ate with my mom and the food was great. We're happy with that. They keep it clean. No complaints. The landscapers are there often and the grounds look nice. They clean my mother's place regularly, so no complaints. We had a lot of challenges in the beginning, but they have new management, and she's made some great changes. They're not super communicative. They don't get back to you about changes that they're making with your mother's drugs and stuff like that, but I think they've hired a new person, and that's going to change, too. My mom played bingo, and she went to all the entertainment. For the value, it's right where it should be. I think it's very reasonable.

I went and toured Scottsdale Village Square, A Pacifica Senior Living Community. Their dining area was fine, but the room was very, very small. It's an older place, but it was clean. The staff was very nice and very friendly.

I moved my Mom into Scottsdale Village Square in December of 2021. She was in the Assisted Living side for over two years. The med techs were very nice and caring and things were fine in the beginning. However, Pacifica took over shortly after my mom moved in and the turn over rate of the executive director and the nursing director and a few other top position was insane and still continues to this day. Back in April "They" moved my mom into memory care WITHOUT calling me or telling me. They didn not move her clothes, her purse was stolen and only one person there even apologized. The memory care side is NOT good. The caregivers and med techs are wonderful people but they are sooooo over-worked , they cannot handle all the tasks they have to do. The activities are minimal at best, the food by the time it reaches the memory care dining room is cold to start out Tried reaching out to corporate but they are almost impossible to get ahold of as well. I have since moved my mother out of this sad excuse for memory care facility and found another that is so much better and she is much happier. I gave it three stars because the Assisted side in okay but if you are looking for memory care, do not stop here.

My mom liked Scottsdale Village Square. It seemed more like a home where she could have her privacy and still be part of the community. It's two levels, but my mom was guaranteed the first level. It has elevators. The staff members were really nice. They had some problems, but they've revamped their old facility. They brought in a new person in charge, and you could tell that they put a nice operation together. The residents could choose from the menu. They do a lot of things. They had a calendar, and they did stuff, but it didn't seem quite as much as some of the other ones that I've been to.

My brother is at Scottsdale Village Square, A Pacifica Senior Living Community. The grounds are very nice. His apartment is rather small, but it's adequate for his needs. He does have a shared area for the kitchen and a little table and chairs and things. So far, the staff seems pretty OK. They have changed the assisted living director and there's also a new nurse who handles the medical side of it, but they seem to be doing a good job. They have exercise classes, and they show movies. They have several things they do, but my brother chooses not to partake in any of those things. He is not a super social guy. They have a comedy act come in, and they have music people come in. They have several different options for things they can do. The dining area is very pretty. I think the food is pretty good. My brother is not crazy about it, but that's because he doesn't like healthy foods, he likes junk foods. Overall, I think it's OK there. It seems to be safe, but they charge for like every little thing. I would like to see my brother have more services, but we can't afford it. We need to have medication management and that's a big chunk every month. I realize they're a pretty reasonable place as far as finances are concerned, but it's taking it out of us because my brother doesn't have any money, so we're having to pay for most of it. They're short-staffed like every place. They need more staff there.

Scottsdale Village Square was nice and well laid out. It's an older facility, and they have some very nice updated parts of it. The rooms are old and kind of small, but everybody seemed very friendly. Their dining facility was awesome. Of course with COVID, we couldn't try anything and only the residents were allowed to eat there. They have facilities close by on hand where you can get medical care, both mental and physical. It looks like they had a lot of activities going on when we were there. There's crafts stuff, card games, and puzzles. They've got a decent sized swimming pool, which I wouldn't mind jumping into. My mom might need a higher level of care, which is also right there; you don't have to go into a new area. The person doing the tour worked her butt off and got my sister and I on a conference call, worked out the finances, and everything we needed to move in. They didn't try to hide anything and laid it all out right in front. The dining area was very nice, clean, large with lots of space. There's a lot of space between tables and big chandeliers. There's a little space off to the side where you can have entertainment when it's allowed. Everything was very clean and the grounds were nicely manicured, including the trees and bushes. Nothing was out of place.

We had a great experience with the assisted living program, that unfortunately transitioned into hospice care sooner that we were anticipating. The skill and compassion of care was terrific and made the difficult process a little easier to navigate. I would highly recommend SVS for anyone with a loved one that needs more care than you can provide at home. They educate and support you all along the way for a full spectrum of care. My father was very happy in his last few months and SVS was responsible for that.

My mom has been a resident at Scottsdale Village Square for more than 5 years. I can't say enough good things about the staff who care for my mom. We are deeply appreciative of their care and support. We live in the area and have the chance to see the staff in action, and know many of them personally.

The caregivers and management staff are caring, competent, and responsive. I specially like to single out Mr. Chupp, Ms. Turner, RN, and Ms. Byrum for all the help and support they have provided over the last two years. The facility is pleasant and well maintained. The green spaces and open areas are a most welcome benefit to the residents.

Mom was a resident at SVS since 2016 and was very happy there until her recent passing. She loved the staff who cared for her as if she were their own family. It was a great comfort for the family to know she was so well cared for. We visited often and had many family gatherings at SVS which was especially convenient when mom became more fragile. We are grateful for the loving staff that greatly enhanced mom's final few years.

My dad has been in the skilled nursing unit for almost 3 years. The care he gets is really good. The facility is clean and well maintained. I have enjoyed meals with him in the dining room. Before Covid I would take him for walks down the street to Burger King or Echo coffee. He enjoys just going outside for the fresh air.

The memory care staff are the best. Jeff and Kathy have been so sincere and compassionate. They will take time In their busy schedules to update me when I ask about my wife , since we’re not able to do in-person visits at this time. They have provided weekly FaceTime video visits which is comforting.

My dad has lived in the memory care area on the first floor for 1 year now. The best thing about this facility is that every single unit opens to the outdoors. On the first floor, that is a decent size open grassy area that he can walk around with flowering plants and caged parakeets (or maybe they are lovebirds). It really feels like an apartment so that residents feel independent. They provide all food, meds, cleaning, etc. if an ER visit is needed then tgey take care of that. They have nurse practitioners that visit the facility that will take care of their healthcare My dad is happy with everything so far. He seems to think the food is okay but I haven’t tried it so I’m not going to rate it They do have quite a few activities ... but reduced with Covid. They do a great job of keepIng families informed. My dad has fallen a few times Getting out of bed and they always call me right away. The staff is nice. They do take AZLTC which made it affordable for my dad.

The room my Dad resides in always smells good, even though he is incontinent. Staff members are responsible to request to arrange for a "zoom" visit with Dad, this is especially good during Covid restrictions. We would choose SVS again.

My father likes the assisted living facility overall. The most important issue that concerns him is the declining quality of the food service at SVS. He brings it up in our conversations almost every time we talk. There needs to be improvement in this area. He does like every other aspect of SVS and likes the staff with who he has contact.
