The people at Andara Senior Living by Cogir were very good, but it was huge, and I likened it to a cruise ship. It was fancy, very over-the-top decoration and all, but that's not what I was looking for. Upkeep was excellent. The room was really nice. They have little kitchenettes, and it was more like a small apartment. The dining area was huge, and they had a very good chef, and you can eat anytime you want. It was wonderful. The pool was lovely.

The people at Andara Senior Living by Cogir were very good, but it was huge, and I likened it to a cruise ship. Staff members are amazing. You won't find a better staff anywhere else. Mgmt leaves much to be desired, ESPECIALLY, if medical needs are a concern. Their Medical Director lacks compassion, he is a horrific communicator and he is disorganized. Their Director is no better. Their system is antiquated. I was asked twice to back date documents and one of them had to due with my dad's passing. They still use fax machines for prescription updates from outside care facilities which includes HOSPICE. If you can't advocate for a resident who needs attention, this is not the place for them.

My loved one lived there for many years and the last two years and assisted living have been horrific. We don't blame the caregivers for most of the problems. Rather the management is indifferent to the needs of elderly people and lacks transparency. That's exactly what you get when an assisted living facility is owned by private Equity investors in New york.

It was very, very caring and very gracious. The couple of different people we talked to seemed very knowledgeable. The rooms seemed very adequate. Right now, they're being revamped with new paint, new carpeting, and stuff. The grounds seemed very, very pleasant and very pleasing. They had a library and lounge areas, a theater, a room where they had musicians come in, card games and bingo. One thing I liked the most about it was that the dining room was open all day.
