"I had to go to this facility to visit friend and I was not impressed. One reason why is because parking was an issue, there wasn't enough parking for visitors. Therefore I had to wait at least ten minutes before going inside of the bulding. When I finally found a parking spot I had to wait about ten minutes for someone to assist me up front to find the room location. Most of the staff members weren't very friendly, but when I made it too my friend room a nice staff member came by to assist us. This person made my visit with my friend pleasant because at first I was not pleased. Next, the facility was really old and needed some updating. I didn't really think it was a comforting place for someone to live. The nice part about was that my friend was getting ready to go to another facility. Therefore, I was excited to hear that she was because the air conditioning wasn't working well as well. In Arizona a air condition is needed in the very hot temperatures. "

" My father w/ moderate-late stage dementia began this program about 3 weeks ago and already a significant difference. He is more alert and engaging. He'll initiate engagement about a TV program or read the church bulletin - neither of which he has an any interest in doing for over a year. The staff from leadership to direct care have been very professional and patient in working w/ his lack of inhibition when it comes to inappropriate comments as what often happens w/ many dementia/Alzheimer patients. We've had discussions to make sure we're on the same page and providing consistency in approach - an actual treatment plan where everyone is on the same page. As an additional blessing, they accept VA rates and pays the VA co-pay only. We're setting him up w/ dial-a-ride because we live so far away and transportation is a huge issue. His first ride is tomorrow - we're hoping things go well. As a nurse who has worked primarily in mental health at the AZ State Hospital and prison system for over 26 years, I am certainly pleased to have him at Mary's Place Memory. A special thanks to Tony (Peoria location) for the time he spent educating me about the programs available. It made a world of difference in many ways. Benevilla, west side could certainly benefit from having a location closer to our area (Avondale, Goodyear, Tolleson, South Phoenix, etc.). Until then will continue to commute him to Mary's Place. It's certainly worth the trip."

"My mother stayed at Lucy Anne's Place Benevilla Adult Day Care for respite care and their program for it was very good. It's a very nice facility, aesthetically clean and well organized. It's also well designed with a beautiful garden outside. There?s also a child care facility. They bring the children every day to sing and entertain, to lighten the atmosphere. There's animal therapy and arts and craft activity. Also, there's a restaurant in conjunction with all the food for meals and snacks. You feel exceptionally safe with your family member there. When they do the intake, they're very precise with the information of the individual, their needs and their personality traits so they can stay in the path of the person?s needs. They have transportation from the retirement community and has a late stage Alzheimer's day center in Sun City. "
