I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

The rooms are small with poor lighting, reminds me of a hospital

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

The facility is okay as you walk in. The security guards and most of the aren't friendly. I witnessed uncleanly residents. Some of the disable and older residents are asleep for long periods in their chairs. When we asked a question to the staff most of the time they dont know anything. My relative keeps falling, it doesnt make sense why they would let that happen. They seem short staffed there is always a new face. The resident shared stories that staff yelled at him. My brother has tried to reach someone to talk about it. They just say ok we will take care of it but nothing happens. Also left message for the supervising nurse several times and the social worker but no one is ever around there. Transferring my uncle out. Disappointing how they treat the vets

I visited this facility

As a health care provider, I've visited this facility when a patient was transferred. I was quite dissappointed in not only the apperance of the facility but also, the home is not located in the best area Phoenix has to offer. The facility was quite cold in welcoming us. The residents all lined the halls and seemed non-stimulated to say the least. I have family members in the surrounding areas within various different homes. I would not select Arizona State Veteran Home as an option for my own family.
