I visited this facility

Murano Senior Living is unlike most senior living in Seattle. It is a 24-story tower. It's new. I thought it was very well-appointed. The representatives we met were very pleasant and welcoming. They had a meal plan. The food was acceptable. I had a Denver omelet and it was a good omelet. The room had a little kitchenette and a nice bath. There was a large buy-in fee that was going to be not possible. We didn't meet many of the staff. We met a sales representative who was a very pleasant person. I liked her. She was very helpful.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Murano Senior Living is a brand-new place. It's a great facility with awfully nice staff people. I would give them high ratings. I have a good friend who's there in the memory care that I was able to visit, and I was also able to go to assisted living. It's excellent. It looks like The Ritz-Carlton hotel and everyone from the receptionist, to the salespeople, and the caregivers were all exceptional. They really care about their residents. One of them said, "We don't work here for the money. We really like to help people," and I could see that. I went on a boat tour of the waterways around Seattle, sponsored by Murano Senior Living, got acquainted with a number of their people and residents, and everybody was very, very positive. I sat in an exercise class that was excellent too. They were doing light workouts, stretching, lightweights, and what have you. The gentleman, Luke, was superb. Rita was my contact in the sales side and she was very knowledgeable, very gracious, and very accommodating. I was actually invited for lunch but couldn't make it, however, everybody that I've talked to has raved about the food. The chef is an outstanding fellow, so I would feel very comfortable eating there. They have all kinds of activities. So, it's a pretty varied and extensive program. I've been there maybe three times and there's always something going on. They've got lounges, libraries, sitting rooms, TV rooms, and just open spaces. The dining areas were beautiful. It looked out over the city and over the mountains. Since it's new, it's only maybe about half full, so there's a lot of space. There were chandeliers, artwork, and sculptures. The amenities were very, very nice.

I visited this facility

We toured the assisted living at Murano Senior Living. It's on the 6th floor, which is the same floor as the independent living, and it's the same type of unit. You have access to all the amenitites of the independent living as well as the assisted living when you need to, and I like that. The people there were very nice, and the sales group was eager because they're just new and had a lot of places to fill. We liked it, and it was fresh. We felt that it would be a sort of demanding clientele there because it's very expensive and because of where it's located and everything. So, the services like the food and everything would probably be pretty good. If you had 30 places, it would have been on the top 5 or 10, probably. The lobby was beautiful, and the location was convenient to everything downtown and to where my wife's doctor is. It's very dog-friendly. They had no problem with my wife being in a 2-bedroom unit where I would have an office for myself. We can have visitors on occassion once the Coronavirus is over. It's a pretty spacious and a fairly large unit, and they're flexible on getting started fees and so forth. The only thing missing is a swimming pool. It's relatively small. There were probably only 200 units. We had lunch on our first visit, and it was good. It was a simple lunch with soup, sandwich and something else not big for my wife.

My husband will be at Murano Senior Living. My husband has Parkinson's and it's a community that specializes in Parkinson's. He is going to move there in three weeks. The staff is super friendly and super helpful in every step of the way. Their seafood risotto was delicious. They have a list of in-house things for people to do, like spa, health care, exercise, and even practicing hitting things. They have an instructor that comes and helps people with Parkinson's learn how to box. It has several dining areas, from a little bit fancy one, down to just casual. Lots of activities are going on, it's brand new, and it has a nice view of the city.
