i would recommend VA HOME to anyone needing assisted living. This place is very good to my aunt who has no other family but me. They take her to her appointments and care for her just like family. The building is older but they keep it clean and the food is really good. Her room has air condition and she can have her tv and radio with no extra charge unlike some other places. This is a family like place and I am thankful for it!! My aunt loves it!!

When stimulus money was being released our family asked the social work staff if they would plan with our family member so she could purchase needed things. A suggestion made was dentures. We were informed they indicated they didn't want no dentures. The idea of guidance was so ridiculous. A sibling visited for the holiday. Because of COVID-19 they had to meet outside. The resident did not own a coat. This is why guidance was needed. They have lived within the facility for many years. Not enough funds for a coat yet two stimulus check releases. You do the math. I am going to report this!

Don't have high expectations...this is the place for you. I have a friend who is a long term resident of this facility and it is just down right gross. The facility is old, run down, looks more like a mental institution (back when we had those), it is not welcoming at all. Those residents are in their last years and should have a pleasant end of life. It's not suitable for my dog.

No good! Place is old and dirty they have been in this facility for a long time and never try to fix it up I’m glad my aunt is no longer there. Very unprofessional they bring kids to work and have them running all over the place as if this is a place for kids truly ridiculous
There's better care for your loved ones than this place

Worse place ever, health department needs to shut them down. Filthy dirty, they don't have a love for their residents, they just want the money.

Virginia Home for Adults was a terrible place, like a homeless shelter. The rooms were very small and had four roommates in one room without a bathroom in the rooms; you had to go the end of the hall. The main thing that I didn’t like was the front doors weren’t automatic doors. My father is in a chair and wouldn’t be able to open the door. It was dusty and wasn’t very clean. When we first visited, they told me one price, and when we went again with my father, they quoted me a different price.

This facility is over priced and unclean. Some of the rooms have no air conditioning. This facility gives the minimal care. The staff that passes medications are not trained in mental health and therefore cannot recognize if a medication is not working or what to do if someone is having hallucinations, etc. Very unprofessional place.
