Doves Nest Assisted Living

My mother was in Doves Nest Assisted Living for a year. We were very happy with the staff and the way things were done. I could give it a 5 except for an incident that happened, which really concerned me. They have two residents per room and her roommate ended up being under hospice care, and I thought once someone was put under hospice, they would take them to another facility. She passed on in the room with my mom. They took the lady out while my mom was still laying in bed, and it freaked her out. She was really afraid after that and didn't want to be there anymore. I was not happy with the way that was handled. They should have put a divider between their beds. There was no room to move my mom to another room or to move that lady to another room. Another complaint was she wasn't given food choices. They ate what was put in front of them, and it wasn't something my mom cared for. They were always doing activities with them. They could have done a better job with the upkeeping. I had to point out the ceiling fan was covered with dust. It looked like they had never cleaned them before, but they were always mopping and cleaning. If a resident had an accident, they were right on top of it.

My mother was a resident at Doves Nest for several years. Never was I concerned regarding the care she received. The owner is a caring Christian woman who loved my mother.
