"My overall experience is that the staff really cares and the facility is always clean I was worried about reviews prior to coming here but I believe what I experience and I must say they're great "

"I was in Heartland Health Care Center for 9 days, and they had really good physical therapy. I was treated well except during nighttime because they seemed to forget me. I enjoyed my stay there. They had a lot of activities. It was nice. The physical therapy department was awesome. They helped me get back on my feet, and everyone was really friendly. "

"I am very happy with Windcrest Nursing and Rehab in Fredericksburg. They have everything from skilled nursing to rehab. The rooms are just typical nursing home rooms. The staff is taking care very well. The food is fine, and the dining room is very spacious. I like the place. They have a very nice and happy staff. "

"This has got ro be one of the worst facilities in San Antonio. The turnover of Department Heads is just as bad as the direct care staff. The Behavior unit houses over 1/2 of the entire census and they wander around half dressed and smellubg of urine and feces. They have a "critter" problem yhat is way out of control and the poor patientsare scratching constantly. There are some good nurses but they are overworked to thw point, it shows on their faces. PLEASE find another facility for uour loved ones!!! I did. "

"Paramount Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is very close to our home. My husband is in a room good for two people. As he has a feeding tube on his stomach, he needs 24-hour care. The staff seems to know what they are doing. They are caring and helpful. I recommend them to others. "

"I have visited this facility multiple times and for the most part it is nice, clean and moderately staffed. It is not lacking in things to do, it has quite a few rooms for dining, sitting, socialization and exercise. The staff seemed nice although, I would say they were sometimes slow in responding to calls or the needs of not only my grandmother but of others I was in contact with. The rehab specialists that worked with my grandmother were kind, through and informative. The place was kept well lit, and had a pleasant feel to it. Sadly it was not altogether rid of the odd feel of a hospital or "old people" home. Besides the aesthetics the quality of care was good and, as i was told, the food was decent. The location was nice and easy to get to, and they were very accommodating of family staying and assisting with care since the injury was bad and memory problems had to be helped and dealt with. "

"I was skeptic after the first night spent here. I felt like I was well enough to go home. After hearing from all the wonderful therapy staff about all the progress I could make it made me want to try to do better. I ended up staying a little over 3 weeks and gained so much strength back to be able to do things on my own again. The therapy team is motivating and the staff was sincere in wanting me to go home successfully. I hope I do not have another fall and need therapy but If i ever do I will ask to be transferred to northeast rehab. They are like family."

"I was wheeled in March and walked out 10 days later. My thanks to Julie for helping me deal with my insurance company to get admitted to Sundance. The nursing staff and aids where excellent providing care. Special recognition to the rehab. staff for getting my arms and legs moving again. David Purdy"

"My sister is at Kirkwood Manor. The place looks very nice and clean, and it does not have any odor. I've been in some that are really bad. My sister was not happy when she was put in a 14-day quarantine, but I know it is for her safety as well as for the other patients. She does feel like they answer quickly enough, and she worries if she has an emergency. The staff has always been very nice when I go there. As a matter of fact, they're a little overly nice which makes me kind of uneasy to be honest with you. They seem to have our best interest in mind, but I don't know. Maybe it is just me. I just expect too much. They seem to be short-staffed. Sometimes I'll ask questions and they don't know what I am talking about. I take down names. One time I said, "Well, you know Marie is supposed to be the supervisor there." They said "No, the supervisor is so and so." I think it was a gentleman. I said "What about Daniella? She was the receptionist" and they said "I don't know her. " That is when I asked them if they even communicate. I know they say she works this shift and I work that shift, but surely they must cross paths at one time or another. I had to get my sister a cellphone because I had the hardest time trying talk to her on the phone that belonged to the facility. Her care seems to be good, and the staff is very nice. I guess it is just in my old age, I have become suspicious of people. They are just like overly, overly nice. The staff being overly nice and not quite informed, just makes me uneasy. My sister is happy there, though. Her room is very small, and they got two people to the room. When you first walk in, there is a restroom to the left-hand side and a closet to the right-hand side. It belongs to both residents in the that room. It makes it inconvenient for my sister when she is trying to sleep, and the other person is doing stuff over in that side. She is closer to the door where the restroom and the closet are at. Sometimes the lady is up in the middle of the night and it disturbs my sister, but she is learning to live with it. They can both have a dresser in there, and they can both have their own TV. She has a little nightstand and right now that is all she has because I have not taken her dresser to her. I've never taken a tour. It seems like something is always going on, and I cannot go in there which I do not like. I do not like that I have to make an appointment to visit. I think a nursing home should be open at all times. I think I should be able to visit whenever I want to, without letting them know ahead of time because I know what happens if you let them know ahead of time - they clean up stuff. I know they have bingo, craft sessions, and stuff like that on different days. They give them a chart every month to let them know what is going on. Every once in a while, they have Facetime where you can through to facility phone and talk Facetime with relatives. The reason we got our sister a phone is so we could do it whenever we wanted to. I have not really seen much. I go in the front door and they lead me to her room and that is it. I've seen the lobby and it looks nice clean. As you walk, the reception is to the right. Walking a little further, there is a lobby, where you can sit down. Walk a little further to the left, there is a restroom. Then you walk further in and there is the activity room or the cafeteria. If I go to the left, I go to her room. And that is all I have seen. I may request a tour, but it seems like there is never enough people to be able to request that. My sister is not very happy about the food."

"My brother is currently in Stonebrook Manor At Broadway. The care has been excellent. Everything provided for him has been very good. He is a very hard case because he is very stubborn. However, they were able to support him and at the same time, help him recover. I like that the staff is always willing to talk to the family members of the resident. They don't even mind being interrupted. They never give me an attitude and always ask me how they can help. They will call and ask me sometimes if there is anything I would like to see be done differently. Indeed, they are very proactive in making sure that they are doing their job. On the other hand, the building is pretty old. The rooms are small; that is the only concern I have. They actually have four people sharing one bathroom. I have not eaten there yet, but the food appears to be very good. They are also very accommodating with food. Whenever my brother doesn't want to eat dinner, they make him a sandwich instead. They are very good at managing their residents. They constantly have activities, too, everything from bingo, to trivia, to physical therapies. They also have music and entertainment often come in. Overall, it is a well-kept community. "

"I went to visit Alamo Heights with my friends family the other day as moral support and I was very impressed. The staff was very nice and it looked like the residents all really enjoyed living there. "

"Exceeded expectations!!!! I recently have had my grandfather discharged from a Parklane West. He was sent to Parklane from a nearby Joint Club hospital that performed his orthopedic procedure. I have to say I was very impressed with the physical therapy department, Andy runs a great team of therapist and the proof is in the pudding! I will have to admit that there were some issues with nursing but when i asked to speak to the DON she was more than happy to meet with me and took action to satisfy my concern, it was resolved. Before I decided to make this the location for my grandfather's therapy I toured the facility on the advise of the social worker at the hospital, I was toured by a thorough and pleasant woman who I later found out to be the executive director. I showed up at 5:15PM on a Friday and she offered me a bottle of water then she gave me a tour of the facility. She graciously sat with me and answered my questions which exceeded an hour, considering it was Friday evening and she was willing to do this meant a great deal to me. My grandfather met his goals and was sent home without home healthcare physical therapy. I am so grateful of the care and compassion we received at Parklane west, we would do it again given the same situation. Special thanks to Andy, Coco, Kelvin, Robert and Mary! All of you are Angels. "I was able to tour Juniper Village at Lincoln Heights. They were very nice. It was a very nice and very welcoming environment. It was clean. Everything appeared in order, so that was good. They have a rehab area and a nice gathering area where they were making flowers, so that's very nice. The staff I met were very nice and friendly. The facilities were very good."
