"My mom is at Legend West Rehab. The staff is very friendly and courteous. Mom says the food is great. They do have activities like birthday parties, color and paint, and arts and crafts. The things that they have done for my mom are just out of the ordinary. They are just so great. They do have a courtyard and they have an extra facility for their rehab, like exercise machines and a little bicycle for them to get on and kind of the standard stationary bicycle. They have their dining hall where they go. They have an entertainment center where they can watch movies. Price- wise, theirs is reliable. I believe this is where she's going to stay long-term."

"My 90 year old mother has been there since the facility opened; she was one of the first to be a resident. The facility and rooms are beautiful. My mom is very demanding and the most of the staff is is very sweet and tolerate of her. Their patience of the most of the staff are beyond measure. I would rate them higher if all can be like most. All the activities are well organized and a lot of fun. My mom is very happy there...she does wish her breakfast would be sent hot. Lunch and dinner are good. The Administrators have turned over a few times but all have been absolutely wonderful and involved with the residence. Which is very different from other facilities my mom has been to. "

"I am extremely happy with Westover Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. It is very clean and nice. The staff is very welcoming and very friendly. The doctors are wonderful. I absolutely have no problems yet. My dad shares a room with a man. It reminds me of a hospital room. They have bingo and church. They also have people that come in to sing. "

"My mother is in Lakeside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She wasn't able to do assisted living, so we have her in a skilled nursing facility now. It's very, very clean, and it's very, very restricted as to the movement in and out of it because of COVID. Care and services so far have been pretty good. "My grandmother was hospitalized after having a fall that resulted in a hip fracture. Even her hospitalization was a new experience as she had been very fortunate to not experience any major medical complications. After a week, her physician recommended rehab and I was given a helpful list of local facilities to visit. After visiting the four in the general Westover area, I decided on Las Colinas. The facility presented very well from an aesthetics standpoint, you could tell they took pride in having a clean facility. The gentleman in admissions, Jacob, was very welcoming, helpful and informative. As impressive as the building was, I was not sold by visuals. He made me aware of the ratings, staffing and a tentative plan of care for my grandmother, which was not only impressive but also showed that he was invested in her recovery. She admitted in to a private room on the 300 hall which housed their therapy patients. Her CNAs Michelle and Ben tended to her needs and nurses Lisa and Oney kept our family aware of any updates in her care. The housekeeping staff cleaned her room daily which was a pleasant surprise. The staff in therapy, Joe, Ross and Susie were vital in her recovery. Not only were they highly experienced in their trade but they connected with my grandmother on a personal level that made not only her initial few days in a new environment more comfortable but her entire stay more enjoyable. I had reservations about their food as I had read bad reviews about it. Whether or not that was an isolated incident or they used that experience to improve their product, her meals were always enjoyable and well presented. Although I hope she never needs to have inpatient rehab again, if the need were to ever arise, there is no other facility i would have her go. I highly recommend this facility and thank you to the entire staff."

"The experience at Silver Creek Manor is excellent. It is a little older but very well taken care of. The people there are very caring and knowledgeable. I would certainly recommend it. The rooms are nice and clean. The food is very good, security is great, and staff is very friendly. "

"Hunter's Pond has been my home for two stays. The admin staff are a great group. You are treated like family. The atmosphere is such a happy one. Each time I have been here, I have had to learn to walk. The therapy group are great. The activity room is a very special place for the residents to get together and laugh a lot. This facility has a very nice dining area and the food better all the time. This facility is very clean and the cleaning people are friendly and helpful. The residents here feel like one big happy family. "

They have rehabilitation center to help those who need it. The staff are very good, professional, and seemed to care for their patients. They have good nurses. "

"Legend Oaks is a very good and well maintained facility. I visited this facility about two or three times in the past month. It has a great security system in place with a personal check in at the main entrance. Even though it is a small facility compared to other nursing homes in San Antonio it is in my opinion one of the best. All staff members that I came in contact with were very professional and compassionate in nature. Cleanliness is of utmost priority at Legend Oaks. The staff has a excellent association with the patients and they are very attentive. When medicine is to be administered at a particular time the staff always follows strict guidelines. The food preparation is very good and the nurses take their time if a patient needs to be fed by hand. All in all from my own experience visiting my friend there was quite satisfying. My friend who has liver cancer was very happy and content about the doctors and the staff in general. Rooms and bedding were always kept clean and orderly. Well run establishment. "

"Communication is key! When someone vital to your loved ones care leaves either by being transferred, quitting or being fired it is important for the family to know. On a happier note, they are fully staffed compared to other places we've checked out, ghost towns. And the main thing is that Mom is happy their. We love the covid precautions they've taken to keep mom and the other residents safe."

"My dad was a resident of Retama Manor Nursing Center/San Antonio West. The layout was fine, and it was secure for the patients. But the director of nursing was just not a very nice person. I don't think that the people that work there know how to talk to people. There was never a meeting with them, and I just felt like it was kind of like, "oh, it is what it is." I had concerns, but I just don't think that they took care of them. I had to reach out to people higher up and that's how I would get a response. But only if I went to other people. They had an outside patio, but someone had to be out there. A family member would have to come in, sit with them, and take them outside. There were supposed to be group activities, but I didn't see that ever happen. They would talk to them, though, but I didn't really see any type of activities being done. There were cockroaches. And the sewage would back up into the bathrooms and the rooms. I voiced my concerns about that, and they just said, "Oh, the plumber's coming over" or "the plumber's coming soon," but I had to reach out to the Texas Health and Human Services, and that was the only way that something happened. They had to do a survey and people from the state had to go in. So, it just really needs to be cleaner."

"My brother-in-law has moved into Mesa Vista Health Center. We had to put him into a nursing home because he was a sundowner, a wanderer, and he was a little disruptive at times. It's just about 30 days now and he's fine. He's got a good attitude until the sun starts setting. He's adjusting. Everything is positive so far, the staff, the facility, the condition, and the upkeep. He's doing fine with the food. He just had to adjust a bit, but he's fine. He stays to himself. He's not involved in the activities at this point. They're trying, but he's not involved yet. The room for a nursing care facility is adequate, and the grounds are adequate. There are no complaints thus far."
