This facility and it’s staff truly have something special going on here!!! I believe the Hands of Jesus Himself Touch Every Claiborne & Hughes Staff Member along with most agency members each morning!!! Specially the cook and the baker ... ummmmm ummm the baker!!! Each staff has greeted me by my name daily... before I ever even knew their names or met them!!! I truly care about this place & pray daily for each staff member here from up top to the least of these (which happen to be- as all business owners know... the least of these are actually the most important!!! These brave, respectful, well trained, well groomed, qualified, staff show up everyday wearing capes & go home everyday with trophies (memories) of the HEROS THEY ARE AND THE HEROIC THINGS THEY ACCOMPLISH!!! 6 stars if I could!!! From suits-all the way down to-janitors!!! Each and everyone are Heros-even in these chaotic pandemic times!!! Thank you all for the great spaces, the ammenities, the great food, the great respect, and on and on!!! I wish you all blessings and joy as this is what you have began restoring in me!!!

Many of the rooms are not remodeled and they’re very gross and unsanitary. Deeply saturated tile with years of urine. Chipped wall paint. Stained ceiling tiles, constant plumbing issues. There are 0 activities. Nothing. They print out a calendar with activities but never actually provide them! The food is nasty, bland, and cold. People sit soaking wet for hours and can’t get changed. Social worker won’t provide basic services like scheduling dental appointments, or providing info for residents who want to LEAVE. No visits all of 2020, to prevent Covid, but they infected the whole facility anyway with their filth a couple weeks ago. They failed to contain the spread like all the cleaner facilities have done. The residents all appear hopeless as they’re left to stare at walls all day. If help is needed to get out of bed, many are left in their beds all day. Showers have been as much as 3 weeks apart! Call lights often take over an hour to get a response. LET THE FAMILY’S RETURN TO VISIT!

Was a Stage 4 cancer patient there in 2015 and agree with the reviews above. The care was very good and initially I required a lot of care including bed changes in the middle of the night. Required help getting in and out of bed, showering, meals in room, etc. with failing health and all were expecting me to die. After a while though, I was able to get out of bed and using a walker and frequently needed directions from staff to move through facility. The staff was very supportive of me providing answers to my health questions even as my health deteriorated. After several very difficult weeks, the pain began to diminish and I stopped taking the medications for the symptoms. When my symptoms began to abate, the doctors, nursing staff and I and my family realized that my symptoms were in remission. The Claiborne-Hughes staff were all glad to see my health improvement. In August, 2015 I was released to my family's care allowing me to move to North Carolina provided I have hospice care here. Here hospice provided in home care while my health continued to improve. The hospice care continued until January 2016. My doctor now says that my symptoms are "at rest" and will return at a later time. Finally, I am able to live alone and care for myself with regular health care check-ups. My family is on stand-bye if and when needed.

My mother-in-law has had a short one-week stay at Claiborne and Hughes. The care that they gave was excellent. They were very nice and very professional. It's not very good that they were undergoing extensive renovations at that time though. It's a nursing home that takes Medicaid, but it was excellent cleanliness-wise.

We had an unpleasant experience with Claiborne and Hughes. My mother has been there for a short stay. She liked it, so we did not really have any complaints. The location was OK. It was clean.

My great uncle never complained about living here. He said the nurses were friendly and all of the ones that I met were nice and seemed to care about the patients. They were always making conversation and indulging stories from some of the more elderly patients. The rooms were tidy and I recall that during many visits, there were activities going on in the rec room. The rooms themselves were sparse and minimal but clean; the same can be said of the restrooms. I wouldn't call it a high-tech facility but it wasn't the worst place he could have been.

Caliborne and Hughes is a very nice place with friendly staff members and a great rehabilitation plan. It was because of those three things we chose to admit our family member and we were pleased with pretty much everything except the food. There were two times that the meat was served when it was not hot and once there was a hair found in my family member's breakfast tray. I know that food in a nursing home is not going to be great, but I think they can do better than cold meat and a hair in the food.

My Mom was a resident at Claiborne Hughes for almost three years. She needed quite a lot of care and she got it. She was clean always. The staff was very good to her and she to them. The activities staff is the best there that I have ever seen. The office staff is always willing to help and are so friendly. I have recommended this facility to family and friends and they all say the same thing, that their loved one was treated like family by the staff. The night my Mom died, the staff was there for me to comfort and support. This is a caring, compassionate facility. THANK YOU CLAIBORNE HUGHES
