"We have a friend at Traditions of Smyrna. It's within a half mile of the hospital. It's just a little bit newer than the other place we visited, maybe within a year or two of being a newly constructed facility. It has been a great residence for our friend. They have been very proactive about protecting their residents from the COVID-19 outbreak. They have been free from having any resident transmit that, so that's a great plus for them. The staff is kind, understanding, and receptive, and their upkeep is excellent. You can get very good value for your money. I feel like there is an openness and a caring feeling there, so it's more homey than anything else. I think our friend is very, very happy there."

"I toured Hermitage Senior Living. It was fine. It's a very well-kept place. The units are nice. They have a nice workout facility. The staff is friendly. They have activity rooms where they do weekly and daily activities. They have a restaurant that seems to be nice. The people who lived there and the front desk were nice. Adam, who is the manager, was very, very helpful. The rooms are medium, not small. They're a decent size."

"Somerby Franklin was great and everyone was really nice. Everything was very clean, and the lady I spoke with was amazing. The place was immaculate and the staff was super friendly. I actually spoke with someone from the memory care unit who was great. They were baking with the residents. Everything smelled very clean because it was very clean."

"I moved to Avenida Cool Springs. They have everything; they have exercising, musicians come in, they have crafts, a training room, and all the exercise equipment you can possibly think of. They actually have different food trucks come in once a week just for a change, and they have a huge pool. It is only about a year old, and it is absolutely beautiful. I have a washer and dryer, a dishwasher, and a garbage disposal in my room, and a porch, so it is lovely. They offer a breakfast buffet, but there is no dining, and I don't mind that because I just came out of a place that was doing meals, and I spent $325 a month, and most of the time I was throwing food away. With the pandemic the dining room was closed and so they kept bringing food to us and it was not good. So, I am very happy making my own dinner or ordering in. All the restaurant and stuff, they deliver. The staff is excellent. They care about us and you can ask any one of the directors a question. They're not too busy, they stop what they're doing, and they help you. It is awesome. The maintenance people are good, and the cleaning ladies are good. I can't do all the activities they have because there's too many. The value is excellent; they gave us October, November, and December free when I moved in. That paid for my moving from Florida to here, and that was a great plus."

"My mom has been at the Fountains of Franklin for two weeks now. We liked its proximity because it was less than two miles from my house. I liked the way the community is set up. The nurses are good and everything is within view of the nurse's station. It's like a big cube, and the nurse's station can see every room for the most part. Right now, the residents they have are not as highly functioning. A lot of them are acute. They keep the staff very busy, so I haven't seen a lot of activities. That's one of the things that I would like to see more of. My mom likes it, so that's the most important thing. She's already found a friend, and she's happy there. It's a very safe place. She loved the food. I was there with her at lunch time, and she was enjoying it. Some of the staff I would rate them a 5, and some of the staff, I would rate them more like a 3. That's the one thing they can improve: finding a good staff and keeping them (which probably most assisted living locations have issues with)."

"I went to Canterfield of Franklin yesterday. Everything was very good, clean, well lit, many different amenities, so overall I had a very positive impression. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and provided me with all the answers to the questions I had so, very positive experience as well. The newness and the cleanliness of the facility stood out."

"I went in to visit and had small children with me. The staff was very patient and accommodating. I came during visiting hours and it was quite busy. They were patient with my children being there and tried to make sure we were comfortable. The place was very clean and it seemed that the residents were fairly happy. There were very few residents sitting in the hallways. There were very many family members and residents in the common areas. My grandmothers room was very clean and organized. She was comfortable and said that she liked the staff. I was very happy to see that she is well taken care of in this assisted living facility. "

"The Blakeford is a step above the many nursing homes I visited, when selecting a facility for my M om. She is 90 and broke her hip. The facility is clean and does not have the smell of a nursing home. The food is great and the staff attentive. My Mom has progressed to the point that she will be able to return home. This facility has an excellent PT and OT department, that I credit for Mom 's continued progress. "

"I visited The Crestmoor at Green Hills. It's a newer one, and I liked it especially for independent living. That would be a really great place to live. I really did like it. It's very clean. You feel like you're in this nice New York hotel. It's really pretty. I would love to live there now myself. They have an indoor swimming pool with a low-grade ramp. It's good for using PT in the water and walking down the railings and down the ramp into the water, so it's unique to use with their PT and water aerobics. There are restaurants on different levels where the food and the views are really good. I was surprised in the middle of Green Hills, it's like a mall and shops, but the views out the windows are pretty from the different areas. I have a good friend there, and she is very picky. She travels all over the world, and she says the food is really good. I saw the PT there working with two of the men, and they all seem very happy, and she's very personable. Valerie, who gave me the tour, was really great. My friend liked water aerobics and everything. She was saying it's a really good value for what is offered."

"Park Manor was beautiful. It was very updated. It seemed like a really nice facility. The apartments were big. The staff was wonderful. They also offered assisted living in addition to independent living. It felt like the general population of the residents seemed a little older because there were more people that needed assistance. Overall, I felt like it was a wonderful facility. They had a lot of different activities. "

"I visited my Grandmother at Richland Place in Nashville, TN and it seemed less like an assisted living facility and more like an extremely luxurious full-service apartment complex. The lobby and public areas are beautiful, There is a gorgeous grand piano downstairs, and on the day I arrived there was a concert being performed by Vanderbilt music students. I ate dinner at Richland Place several times, and the food was delicious and beautifully prepared. The apartments themselves are comfortable and pretty, and the staff is welcoming and professional. Richland Place offers several levels of care, from assisted living to nursing care. They also offer transportation to the residents for shopping and cultural activities. One of the things that surprised me the most about Richland Place was how much there was for the residents to do every day. My Grandmother enjoyed wine tastings, book clubs and exercise classes. All in all I would recommend Richland Place to anyone looking for luxury retirement living. "
