"We have a friend at Traditions of Smyrna. It's within a half mile of the hospital. It's just a little bit newer than the other place we visited, maybe within a year or two of being a newly constructed facility. It has been a great residence for our friend. They have been very proactive about protecting their residents from the COVID-19 outbreak. They have been free from having any resident transmit that, so that's a great plus for them. The staff is kind, understanding, and receptive, and their upkeep is excellent. You can get very good value for your money. I feel like there is an openness and a caring feeling there, so it's more homey than anything else. I think our friend is very, very happy there."

"Harmony at Victory Station had the one-bedroom that I wanted. One was a one-bedroom that was a little larger, and then one was a one-bedroom but smaller. That was like $3,300, and then there was one that was $3,600. It was on the first floor. I got two dogs, and they had a little slider door that you can walk out, and you can let your dogs go potty right there, or you can open up the gate and walk out and let them go potty (of course you pick it up by yourself). That's all I've seen. They didn't show me any of the dog parks or dog runs or anything like that. We just looked at the apartments. The person that gave me the tour was nice. She took me to the two rooms and she explained everything to me. I asked questions and she answered them just as well as she could do. She was a super lady. They had a beauty salon, a bar, and a pool table. They feed you once a day. I didn't really know what meal you'd get, but it would be one meal, and then you'd have to provide the other two. If you need a ride, they will take you wherever you want to go. Everybody was busy doing what they had to do, and it was nice and clean. If they could only just lower their price, I would move in."

"Charter Senior Living of Hermitage looked nice. It's very clean and the staff was very friendly. The room my father will be in is a little smaller than what I wanted, but they have availability. I put him in there because it seemed the easiest place to transition him to. The dining area looked open, clean, and nice. They seemed to have a good menu and regular options people could choose from if they didn't want the daily menu. They have an activities director so they have daily activities. It seemed pretty lively. They have different exercise classes offered every day, music offered, board games on certain days, bingo, and scrabble. They have a variety of things every day that keeps them busy and they are given different choices. Every morning at 9:30 they have different exercise programs like stretching, chair yoga, other things like that. They have a book club on some days, after lunch they have bible studies, they show documentaries, and have craft days."

"I toured Hermitage Senior Living. It was fine. It's a very well-kept place. The units are nice. They have a nice workout facility. The staff is friendly. They have activity rooms where they do weekly and daily activities. They have a restaurant that seems to be nice. The people who lived there and the front desk were nice. Adam, who is the manager, was very, very helpful. The rooms are medium, not small. They're a decent size."

"Harmony at Mt. Juliet was a very clean facility. When I was there, they had a group activity going on for the residents. The residents were all very clean and they seemed very happy. The staff was responsive to the patient's requests, at least while I was touring the place. They do have a chef and they have different items on the menu. They have a kitchen area that the residents can use to make cookies or food for themselves. I thought the amenities were quite complete."

"We visited Pennington Place of Hendersonville together with my husband. They have a beautiful and wonderful place. This community caters a restaurant-like dining area. The staff that we spoke with was extremely helpful. They are very accommodating. They toured us to the place, and from what we saw the residents looks really happy and it feels like home. We are looking forward to be in this home-like environment. I will definitely recommend this facility to others. "

"Somerby Franklin was great and everyone was really nice. Everything was very clean, and the lady I spoke with was amazing. The place was immaculate and the staff was super friendly. I actually spoke with someone from the memory care unit who was great. They were baking with the residents. Everything smelled very clean because it was very clean."

"I moved to Avenida Cool Springs. They have everything; they have exercising, musicians come in, they have crafts, a training room, and all the exercise equipment you can possibly think of. They actually have different food trucks come in once a week just for a change, and they have a huge pool. It is only about a year old, and it is absolutely beautiful. I have a washer and dryer, a dishwasher, and a garbage disposal in my room, and a porch, so it is lovely. They offer a breakfast buffet, but there is no dining, and I don't mind that because I just came out of a place that was doing meals, and I spent $325 a month, and most of the time I was throwing food away. With the pandemic the dining room was closed and so they kept bringing food to us and it was not good. So, I am very happy making my own dinner or ordering in. All the restaurant and stuff, they deliver. The staff is excellent. They care about us and you can ask any one of the directors a question. They're not too busy, they stop what they're doing, and they help you. It is awesome. The maintenance people are good, and the cleaning ladies are good. I can't do all the activities they have because there's too many. The value is excellent; they gave us October, November, and December free when I moved in. That paid for my moving from Florida to here, and that was a great plus."

"My mom has been at the Fountains of Franklin for two weeks now. We liked its proximity because it was less than two miles from my house. I liked the way the community is set up. The nurses are good and everything is within view of the nurse's station. It's like a big cube, and the nurse's station can see every room for the most part. Right now, the residents they have are not as highly functioning. A lot of them are acute. They keep the staff very busy, so I haven't seen a lot of activities. That's one of the things that I would like to see more of. My mom likes it, so that's the most important thing. She's already found a friend, and she's happy there. It's a very safe place. She loved the food. I was there with her at lunch time, and she was enjoying it. Some of the staff I would rate them a 5, and some of the staff, I would rate them more like a 3. That's the one thing they can improve: finding a good staff and keeping them (which probably most assisted living locations have issues with)."
