We have family members and friends at the Harmony at Brentwood. They have a beautiful space, and they have been there for two weeks. I think it was partially furnished. They have added some of their own furnishings, and they have had help from the facility. They like Harmony, and they like the food. They have been good at keeping them safe. They bring their meals to the rooms now, they've received the first of the two vaccine shots, I believe, and it's a beautiful facility. It looks like a hotel, and it sits up on a hillside. I know they have an exercise room on their floor, which is the third floor. The front-desk people and the people in the dining area have all been gracious, very accommodating, very helpful, and conscious about the COVID restrictions. We actually went into the rooms. They take your temperature, you sign in, they record everything, you wear a badge, they ask you the typical questions to check that you haven't been exposed.

It was very hard to get someone from Harmony at Brentwood to agree to see us. I think they were having problems. They also had their phone service had gone out. It started off the wrong way, which is unfortunate, though the facility itself was very lovely and nicely appointed. Beautiful lobby. We sat with the director. The thing that tipped us off is that their ratio was about one care person to 10 residents. As we went into the memory care wing, we were greeted by a distressed resident and that was discouraging. There's a very long, long, long hallway before you get into the core of that memory ward. So that person in distress at the only entrance that we can come into memory, there was nobody there to help her. There was nobody there to be alert for her. And because it was right before lunchtime, the caregivers were probably involved with that going on way down the corridor, and so we felt that was a big, big no-no because if my friend gets placed there, she's on her own. It was very poorly managed from the number of caregivers they had, and maybe the way the place was set up. It had a lot of wings. Once you walk through a big area and then you go into other corridors, it's like you didn't know where you were going. I wasn't impressed with their facility space mainly because it had no visibility for any of the care providers. And their open area where they have their eating, their community TV, and where they do exercises was like a parking lot of walkers. It felt very cramped and very tight. It was not something I wanted my friend in. It was not engaging; I did not like it. They need to improve the visibility of all their rooms. They need to monitor the rooms more.

When I got to Harmony at Brentwood, the staff was kind of in the middle of something, but she took time out to show me the area and show me a room and show me the different amenities they got there, so it was excellent. The room was very nice and very spacious. She showed me different floor plans. She took me to a room where they had little meetings and where you can have birthday parties and stuff for the resident. I didn't get to see much of the outdoor space. What I've seen mainly was the front part, but she told me she wanted me to come back with my mother, to call her and let her know, and she would be more than glad to show me more of the place. They had a little area where residents can go and have their breakfast and just mingle. It seemed excellent, and it was one of the newer facilities. The dining area was nice. She took me to the hair salon where the residents can get their hair and nails done.

Harmony at Brentwood is an integrated community where independent living, assisted living, and memory care all interact at different levels. There are no divisions between the different levels of care. They provide activities, chef-inspired meals, food that's always available, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and other activities. The staff we met was very professional, very courteous, and very informative. The memory care was very clean and I think the amenities were very appropriate. I saw studios and one-bedrooms and they were spacious with a very good view and all.

Harmony at Brentwood was really nice and exceptionally decorated. They had seniors that were sitting outside under the canopy and they were socializing with each other. The staff was pleasant and spoke to us, and it was just a good feeling. My sister and I both had a good feeling about the Harmony. The staff was very professional. They were on time with me and my sister for our appointment. They showed both sides, independent living as well as assisted living. We went into an assisted living residence and an independent living residence. They showed us all the amenities, spoke to us, and answered our questions efficiently. We did not sample a meal, but they allowed us to come back another day if we chose to. They were very amenable to the questions that my sister and I had. They gave us the brochures upfront so we could kind of use them as we walk through for our tour. It was a good tour.

Everything at Harmony at Brentwood was just well put together. It was clean. It smelled nice. It was not the most beautiful location, but they had just done so much with it. I talked to a resident there, she had just transferred, and she just liked this place better. It was well put together, the inside, and the lobby space. They'd just done a nice job of how they arranged it, how it looks, the paint, and it was very impressive all the way around. I talked to more than one staff member here, and they were all very nice, very sweet. I was completely impressed that they have a schedule of activities, and I think just how the schedule was laid out, all the stuff they do. They're the only ones that mentioned to me like having an actual church service, which mom will be very interested in. It's like they went above and beyond to talk about the activities even before they knew what my mom would be interested in. They've got a sign on the wall that just lists like 10 things a day that you know, you can go and do. It was just impressive to see how well organized they were.

I checked out Harmony at Brentwood. It was very nice. It was a couple of years old. The rooms were a little pricey. Of course, they have the exercise and the laundries. They have a library, they have a theater, and they have a pub. They were very nice. The staff was really nice. They were excellent. The facility was excellent, too. First of all, it's a new building, and it had a great color scheme on the outside and inside. It's laid out really excellent.
