"My mom is in Belmont Village. They have a lot of activities for the residents. They have a lot of musical entertainers come in, and they take them out to different places and play games with them. "

"Traditions of Smyrna are beautiful. It's clean, bright, and very welcoming. They have a wonderful staff. They are very easy to work with, communicative, and very concerned about my mom. So far, they make sure that all of the residents are out in the common room and engaged in some sort of either TV watching, celebrating a birthday, or eating a meal. It seems like every time I go in there, Mom is out and talking to other residents. She's being cared for. The dining area is beautiful. It's like a restaurant. It's also clean. They offer more than just the main meal. There's always an option that they can choose from if they don't want the planned meal. So, that has been very helpful."

"We chose the Creekside at Three Rivers for mom, and she is moving in December. We visited there in mid-October. I liked that they had a lot of different kinds of activities for their residents and included in those activities were discussion groups, where people could exchange ideas or thoughts. I thought that was something that my mother would enjoy. The apartments were warm and welcoming, and they're spacious. I think they provide the right amount of amenities that my mother will need. Everything was clean and appeared to be well maintained. The residents enjoyed the food, and the dining area was very comfortable. They have a porch where people can go and sit in some very comfortable rocking chairs. The staff was very, very nice. We saw a lot of interaction with the residents, and the residents seemed to connect with the staff."

"What I didn't like about Morning Pointe of Spring Hill was the lack of availability for two bedrooms. What I liked the best about the place was the staff, the people, and the home-like environment. They were kind, personable, welcoming, and resourceful. They offer activities. They have courtyards that are indoor and outdoors, laundry facilities, and transportation to and from doctor's appointments. It's a small community, but they have a lot of amenities. I would rate their amenities a 4 and a 5 for their facilities because some things you have to pay for are not included."

"We live in Spring Hill and it is very important to us to have my mother-in-law somewhere close. We visited Willow Springs because it is in the area. It is a very nice and clean facility. It is probably five or six years old. We want my mother-in-law to have a private room there but she has to go on a waiting list. Their staff is really good. I did talk with some residents there and they seemed happy being there. They like this facility. The only thing I am not too impressed about is their menu. They are serving a lot of hamburgers. It is not something I want for my mother-in-law. "

"My mother lived at Somerby Franklin. It is brand new and like a 5-star hotel. It's beautiful, and they gave excellent care. I was very happy for my mom. They had lots of activities and made sure everyone was included and invited. It was the best of the best. The dining area was beautiful, and the bistro was excellent."

"My mom moved into Maristone of Franklin. So far the staff is very competent. They're a small facility with only 40 units so you get better care in a smaller setting. They have great activities and a great dining facility. The location was great for me and it just felt like it was the right place for my mother. The room has new carpeting in the bedroom, new wood floors in the living room, new appliances in the kitchenette, and new paint. They just replaced a new HVAC system so it has undergone some recent renovations. The chef is a trained culinary graduate and she makes everything from scratch with no processed ingredients, which I think is good."

"I looked at the Fountains of Franklin. They have villas, but they were all occupied. They also showed me some assisted living places. They have some people who are independent but living in assisted living, that's in the main building. What I like about those are the rooms are very large and very well-kept. Our primary interest is in the villa but it's not available for quite a while. They plan to build some more, but they only have like 10 units and a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom place. The prices seemed a little high. Looking inside the menu that they offer, it's very much limited compared to the other place I toured. They offer three meals a day if you're staying inside the assisted living. And if you're living in the villas, I think it was 20 meals a month. There's only one staff person I dealt with, she had brochures that explain everything and she took us to one outstanding apartment. But it's more than I want to pay because I don't need assisted living. I saw several ladies coming back from a field trip on a bus, and another couple working on a puzzle. The fitness room was very small and had very, very limited equipment."

"My father-in-law was at Barton House for almost 2 years. There were many activities for residents, music of various genres was played, there were 5 meals/snacks daily, and monthly family dinners, often with entertainment. So much more pleasant than any nursing home. "

"My mom has been a resident of the Blakeford in assisted living for almost 2 years now, since the death of her husband. The Blakeford provides a range of care and services, from independent living to skilled nursing. One of the things I love most is the location, right in the middle of Green Hills. I live in the same neighborhood and with mom next door practically we can enjoy being part of a larger community. We enjoy taking walks, seeing people out with their dogs, or feeding the geese on the lake by the Blakeford. We are close to great restaurants (but the dining room food at the Blakeford is perfectly yummy), mall, and churches. The staff are caring, supportive, and communicative. The Blakeford provides many enriched activities such as music, art, games, field trips, lectures, book readings. Mom is always busy! I love the days when I go over to visit and she says she is too busy there to go out with me. It makes me realize how comfortable she is in her environment and in her life and eases some of the guilt that as a caregiver we never quite do enough. It is nice knowing that many of mom's needs for companionship, friendships, self help care can and are shared and are met at the Blakeford. Her routines are structured, she gets support, she gets love, and we are blessed to have such a fortunate situation that we can be a part of too. The Blakeford recognizes and supports the involvement of families too so we always feel our voices are heard! "

"I toured. I like the layout, the amenities, and the programs that they had for the residents. It was laid out well; the dining room was in the center of the facility, and the rooms were to both sides. There was a gym and a library. There was a big gathering room where they had church services and played bingo, and other things. The staff was very knowledgeable. It seems good."

"I visited this and an assisted living before moving here. I just felt right when I came here...it's beautiful and other residents are happy to be here and so friendly. There is an assisted living floor right here in case I need assistance...also there is Abe's Garden for further help. I feel very blessed to be here. "
