My mother will be going to Sanatoga Ridge Community. We chose it for the location. We also like that you could buy into it and that we will get a big percentage of that back if she ever needs to move somewhere else. They would take care of everything for her. They will completely redo the inside, so she is getting brand new floors, appliances, and walls. It is also a lovely, lovely place. For all those reasons, that's why she chose it there. The monthly fee is ridiculously low compared to everybody else's monthly fee, too. I feel confident that she will be well taken care of when I'm not able to be with her. It's amazing. They will go in and change a light bulb if she needs it. It's not like apartment-style living. She has her own separate, beautiful little space that is hers, and she really likes that. She doesn't feel like she is going to a nursing home or something. The staff was so personable, knowledgeable, and helpful. There is a beauty parlor, a game room, and a gathering space where they have scheduled events. They get a free membership to a public pool, which is right next door.

My parents moved into Sanatoga Ridge Community. What they liked most about it was the all-inclusive thing where not only do they take care of the grass and snow, they would also shovel the snow all the way up to your door, not just the common areas. The maintenance people are available to come help like hang pictures or move furniture. Part of the price that you are paying in your monthly fee is for them to come in and do some basic things like that. It provided a little bit more support for them than a typical 55 and over community. It's only been a few days, but so far, they're happy. I think they're getting the care that they needed at this stage in their life.
