"It seemed very nice. Actually, I liked that one better than the other place we visited. They did show us the rooms, and it was very clean. I didn’t deal with too many of the staff people. They all seemed to be nice, and doing their job. "

"The Watermark at Bellingham had a very courteous staff person who showed us available units. What strikes me the most is the price of what they offer. It was more of an ala carte. For instance, meals are not included but there's a $500 a month voucher per person which allows you to eat what you want instead of these packages that include meals that they decide on and feed you three times a day. This seems to give more variety on the dinner selection to take your choice out of a priced menu. The place was just recently renovated. The dining room is new, there's a general store that's new. The rooms are new, recarpeted, and painted. The hallways are all updated, so that was very pleasing. It's a large community, so that's a little bit of a down point. But they seem to be equipped and staffed to handle these 200 people that are in independent living buildings in this community. To wrap it up, the price was our main choice maker, followed by location, followed by food delivery, followed by management, and then finally amenities. And on that scale, they ranked top of all the locations I toured. The place looked very clean. The hallways were shiny. I would give it an A for cleanliness."

"We chose Eagleview Landing for my father-in-law, and he has moved in. It stood out to me as the best place for him, because they had bright windows, it was clean, the staff was friendly, and the price was very good compared to some of the other places around here. They have the typical calendars each week with different activities that they have going on. They also have a gym downstairs that can be used by the memory care people. If their family comes, or if they're going to do PT or speech therapy, they can go out and use that. They also have a library with a fireplace, and fireplaces in several places where again, you can take your loved one and use any part of the facility. They also go on outings with the activities director. They have live music once a week, they come to the memory care unit."

"My father-in-law is in respite care at Arbour Square at West Chester. The place just has an appeal to it with the amenities, like the movie theater, the restaurant, and the diner that has 50s or 60s style. It is near an airport and he likes the plane coming in and stuff like that. He is getting his medication handled. He is independent with everything else; he does not get help with showers and anything like that. They are really great and very friendly. The staff are very attentive to him and just kind of go out of their way to check in on him. He is loving the food, but activities are a little tough with this whole COVID thing, but he is starting to be able to stay in some more stuff. It is a cute little venue. There is a lot for them to do and the airport is right there so they can go up to the top of the floor and see the airplanes take on and off if they like that."

"The place that my uncle had been was a rehabilitation hospital and whenever I'd go there I'd see a bunch of zombies. I don't experience that at all with Brandywine Assisted Living at Senior Suites, the residents there are happy. The place is very clean and has a lot of activities for the residents. The staff are friendly and accommodating. "

"We selected Pinnacle at Plymouth Meeting for Dad. So far, it's been good. We moved him there and he was quarantined. I got to see him last week from the outside, and we could talk for an hour, but I haven't really been in to see everything. As far as I know he likes it, and everything's been good. The meals are included in the monthly fee, they give him a $400 credit, and if he spends more he has to pay more. The staff seems friendly. It's a new place, but they seem good. I have no problems with it. I know they can watch movies, but they also do some physical exercises. I know the dining rooms are open, but just for the residents. They're doing what they can to keep them busy. There's not that many people in there yet."

"My mother has been in Blue Bell Place since February. The rooms are a really nice size. They're big, they're airy. She had it painted the color she wanted. Nice and light, nice and bright. Big windows, nice-sized bathroom, a sink and a shower, big double door closets. It's a small community. It's 55 in her unit, and in the other unit, which is Alzheimer's, there's another 40 or so. We've had a little bit of an accident where she tripped and fell in her room. She ended up in the hospital for a few days, but they were right on top of it, called me up right away and told me what they were doing. I'm not real happy with their in-house doctors. I actually brought my group back because I didn't think that they were attentive enough. Everybody is very nice, very attentive. They offer a lot. They have a cocktail party every Friday night for the people who live there. They bring in a bartender, and he makes all the drinks they want, and so it's kind of fun. Other than the fact that I wasn't happy with the doctors, I'm pleased with it, and she is, too. "

"I was able to see St. Martha Villa. The lady who conducted the tour was totally lovely. I felt like she really listened, she really wanted to understand the individual's situation, and she had a nice rapport with a couple residents that she interacted with in the course of our tour. It was a really nice experience. We were only allowed on the first floor because of COVID, but it seemed very nice, and it was absolutely fine. She showed me where there's these little lounges, and that was great, and an outdoor sitting area that would seem really pretty in the springtime. I had very favorable impressions. They do not have a swimming pool, but they have a garden/patio."

"My mother-in-law and father-in-law did select Rose Tree Place. We are very happy with that choice. From our very first visit, we found only friendly, caring people from the marketing manager who is phenomenal and his assistant manager who is likewise phenomenal, friendly, sincere, eager to help, and eager to answer questions. As we toured the place, we would run into other staff members. There was always a ready smile, a warm, genuine “Hello, are you moving here?” Happy people and residents would wave and say hello and “We look forward to your coming here.” It was not a façade. They just seemed like a place where people were generally happy. We’re really pleased with the staff and of the nursing support. Extra care services that mom and dad are paying for are prompt and professional. They follow through very nicely. Rose’s mom had been in four or five rehab facilities over the last couple of years. They all pale in comparison to what we have seen at Rose Tree Place. "

"My mother and I went to St. Mary Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare in Lansdale yesterday. We liked it very much, so we're going to enroll there. It was a very nice place. They have a special dementia section and she's going to move into that part, but the whole place was very nice and very clean. They didn't seem to have a lot of staff. It seems like there's a shortage because of COVID. Patients were walking around and they seemed to be engaged, but not active because the people we saw were dementia patients. The indoors are kind of like a circle and the rooms were arranged that way. They couldn't get lost as long as they were in that memory section, which was the Camilla area. They had an outdoor section for them, a very nice dining room, and they had aquariums to look at. There was a book room in the regular section for the residents who had other issues or maybe were just retired. They have a very nice library there. One man had his toy train set up in one of the lounge areas, so that was nice. They let him continue with his hobby and one can bring possessions from home if they're not too large. The rooms were a nice size. They were a little bit bigger than most hospital rooms. Mom will have an armoire, two dresser drawers, and a table for her television. She'll have an in-room telephone, which is extra. The setup is very nice and they were able to get her in right away so that was great, too. They're having a special right now. The $3500 a month is a special rate and that's for any of their units. We walked through the regular part, too. Everything's on one floor, so it is spread out. It's a big campus, but everything is on one floor, which to me is more of a safety thing, especially with old people, of which I am one, because they said a lot of the people there are in their mid-70s. I looked at it as a place for myself in the future and I would go there. I would live there definitely. The staff during the tour was very good. The nurse who spoke with us, Rebecca, I'd give her a 5 also. The paperwork is not overly onerous. They just want to make sure that we understand the limitations of COVID. They don't know what to expect. They don't know what's going to happen next and we have to be willing to accept the risk of what could happen, including food shortages. They even mentioned that in the paperwork and that's honesty because we don't know what's going to happen. They have outdoor spaces even for dementia patients. There's a small area where they can sit outside and it's fenced in with a nice fence. It's not like a prison fence. For the other people, there are plenty of outdoor areas for them to sit."

"We toured Springfield Senior Living. We chose them because the price was within her budget and seemed like a nice place. We also got a good recommendation from a friend about it. The staff are very polite and friendly. The space was very clean and looked comfortable. We looked at a studio, which looked decent for a studio apartment. The dining area was nice, neat, and comfortable, and the parking was good."

"Brittany Manor didn't provide respite care services. Going in there, it was more for people who are mentally challenged. Before I went in, there was a resident already asking me for money while I was sitting in my car, and then when I went in, there was another resident who was asking me for money, and food, and whatever I had in my hand. The person who walked me around was a five. My experience trying to confirm that I had a tour was a one or a zero. I called to confirm, and no one seemed to be able to confirm with me that they were aware that I was coming. They said they would get back to me, and no one ever got back to me, so I just wound up showing up, and the person who gave me the tour was very friendly. However, she wasn't necessarily prepared to provide a tour. The place was very disheveled. Whoever owned the place before, that signage was still up there. The facility smelled as soon as I got in the door. The staff pretty much mentioned this is for people who have mental disabilities. The room I saw wasn't dirty. It's just that everything looked old. Everything didn't look like it was maintained properly. That's not a place I would recommend for anybody. It didn't seem like the patients were even well taken care of. The people that I talked to on the phone were not professional in my book, and telling me that you're going to get back to me, and then you still don't get back, that was very concerning."

"I toured Viva Senior Living at Dresher. It was good. Everything was excellent. The tour guide was nice. The cafeteria was nice and big. The rooms were nice-sized, big, and looked new. They had a nice bath size for them. I liked the cleanliness, activities, interaction, and personal care with the resident. They have plenty of parking, and the upkeep was excellent."
