"My mother has moved into Eagleview Landing. She's in the memory care unit. She's got a large room and bathroom, and they did go through a switch with the director and staff. They had problems communicating with the family about certain things, but they took care of that. She's pretty well taken care of. My brother's only three minutes away and my sister-in-law and I go over quite often. She was falling out of bed when she first got there. My family's the one that went out and got her a safety bar. The family's done a lot to make sure that she's OK, but mom's content. Unfortunately, there are no levels of memory care, and she doesn't need the best kind because she's not completely there yet, so she complains about the companionship she has. It's not really at her level, but it's a beautiful facility. I've been there and she seems happy. I would recommend it. They let you decorate the room whatever way you want, and she's got a lot of familiar things in there. There's plenty of space for personal items. We have notes up for them and they adhere to the preferences of the family. My mom likes to pick her own clothes and they're pretty good about that. I know that they have lounge areas and they have TVs. There was a whole group that was wheeled up to a certain area to watch the Eagles game. She's in a locked facility. They have their own dining area. Eagle View also has assisted living and I've been able to wheel her to the lounge outside of the locked area and you could see another dining area. It looks nice for people who just might need assistance, just physical care as opposed to memory care. They have little apartments around there, too, that are part of the facility."

"We chose Freedom Village at Brandywine. They had the nicest apartments of any places we visited. They were very spacious, lovely, and very bright. They were mostly over 1,500 sq. ft. two bedrooms and two baths. The activities seemed very nice. They had a pool, cards, billiards, ping pong, dancing, movies, and transportation. The food was very good. They had five different restaurants and a wide range of offerings of food every day. They had smaller dining areas as opposed to one huge cafeteria, which I thought was more intimate and nice."

"My father moved to Arbour Square in West Chester. I think they're doing a very good job on trying to make him comfortable and ease into the community. The food is fine. They have lots of options in terms of activities, like cocktail hours. They have social talk (or coffee talk) and movies. His room is clean, and the amenities are very nice. They have a games area outside with a firepit. They have a patio and a second patio by the lunch area. They have many outside activities with a few options."

"Wellington was a very fine facility. It just cost too much. Everything was great. It was a very nice place if they could afford it. They had small apartments, and they had everything there that she would need. "

"We visited Bellingham, and it was very homey. It felt like you were going back to the family home for a visit. They have common living areas that were casual and comfy, and it felt very warm. There were small independent apartments but with full kitchens. The staff was awesome and full of information. They were getting ready to do a bible study in one of the rooms, and they were playing cards in another. There were people going in and out, going about their business, but they did not seem to be engaged in activities. It's an old building. They have a couple of dining areas, the regular dining area was not super fancy, and I liked the country store."

"My mom lived here during the pandemic. They did a great job of keeping her safe. They also got some new management in recently and the food, caregivers and activities have gotten really good. They were all pretty good before but now they are really good. I wish my mom could have lived there longer but I am happy to know she was happy at the end of her life. It's such a big change and so scary for everyone but the staff at Spring Mill really help to make everyone comfortable and feel like family."

"I toured Echo Lake, and it was worth a six. It was like being in a luxury hotel. It was gorgeous. Everything that you can imagine they have, except for the chapel. They have doctors' offices. They have a gym. They had a huge art room, and a bus to take you places, like a weekly run to the supermarket, within a certain distance. Also, to doctor's offices if you didn't want to use the doctor that was there at the building. It's a couple of stories high. It was huge. For me it was expensive. They had a lot of two-bedroom units there as well."

"Daylesford Crossing seemed new and clean. The rooms were nice. They had an activity room and a library. The dining area was very nice and looked like a restaurant. I did not have a meal, but they showed us the menu, and there was a lot of variety. The staff was very nice."

"My mom is in here since September and it's been great! For my mom's level, it is a perfect place for her. It is not overwhelming not like those huge complexes. The staff is very caring and nice. They know everybody by name and they are very attentive. Her apartment is very nice. She has a living area, a bedroom, a nice size bathroom and she's very comfortable there. It is really cozy and she really likes it a lot. She said the food is good. There is a lot for her to do. She likes doing crafts like making jewelry, she does painting, she plays bingo, bowling and participates in music. Singers like Frank Sinatra come in. She is socializing more and they do a good job in trying to involve the family too. They have brunches for the family to come out and visit. My mom has also been in a couple of dinners where they take them out to dinners. Overall, we are very happy with them."

"My mother is in Sunrise of Granite Run and it's been a very good experience. She is in memory care. The people that work here are very kind and patient with everyone. They do a great job. They're very patient and very pleasant compared to other places. They're very patient with the people they're taking care of, and they answer questions. They're very attentive. They call me probably six times a day. I have both my parents in here. They keep me updated on anything that's happening with them. They keep me informed about what's going on. They had live music one night. There's some arts and crafts. Compared to nursing homes, it's better care and much less expensive. The overall experience is better."

"I liked Sunrise. It was very nice. The person who accommodated me was very friendly and open. The rooms were very well designed. They had activities each day, and they had trips for those patients that were willing to go. I tasted some of the snacks they had out. It was good and fresh. They were fresh fruits and pastries. It was very clean, more so than some of the others that I had seen. I liked the community and the living environment. In fact, we were going to choose it for my mom, but she wanted to stay at home. "

"We toured Truewood by Merrill, Glen Riddle. I liked the marketing director who showed us around. She was very caring, and receptive, and listened well to our needs. She introduced us to the staff. I also liked the other staff because it did appear as though they were very engaged and interactive with the residents. I appreciated the cleanliness of the facility. They had several different bedroom floor plans that could work for us. They seemed sufficiently spacious for our needs. There's one that's really small, but they had four different sizes. They seemed to have a lot of activities both in memory care and assisted living. The only thing that I don't like about this facility is that it's cold and kind of dark. But that's just the way it is. It's also the most cost-effective of the non-Medicaid facilities that I've seen. "

"I recently became a guardian for a friend. Due to memory issues he is not able to live on his own any longer. I toured a few facilities and decided on Sunrise because when visiting the memory care side of the facility, the residents in Sunrise were much more engaged and happy then in other facilities. My friend is still active and needs the engagement and interaction that I saw at Sunrise."

"HarborChase of Wilmington seemed to have a lot of staff members available. So, there's more individual attention and that's why we moved my father in there. It's clean, bright, and engaging. The memory care has a lot of activities throughout the day and interaction. His room is clean and a perfect size. I've alsot looked at other places that were the on same price, but they were less appealing and had less offerings than this facility."

"Our family just moved our Mother to Rose Tree Place. From the initial meeting to the actual day our Mom moved into her room was a process that was extremely pleasant, well thought out and most importantly everyone from Rose Tree was friendly, helpful and caring ! Mike, Erin and Cindy were incredibly personable, responsive to our issues, questions and needs and as I mentioned above, they truly care about their residents. I cannot say enough positive things on how my Mom was helped through her first day at Rose Tree. Thanks !!! Jim M"
