"My mom was a resident at sunrise. She had her ups and downs there. The room was ok. Part of the bathroom mirror was missing and wasn’t replaced. She complained about the food, but found things she liked on the menu. Alex the activity director sometimes brought lunch in for the residents. Alex put a lot of life into the facility. My mom had a great experience with two care takers, Justin and Latoya. They were both exceptional. All in all sunrise was a nice place to live."

"My husband has been at Merrill Gardens at West Chester for a month now. The staff there is very competent and very much involved with my husband. They know him by name. He's not just a person there, they care for him. Anything we have asked of them, they have come through. The concierge people at the front desk are excellent. They are always in a good mood and very customer service oriented. Everybody is accessible from the manager to the head nurse, and they're always open to your visit. They have a diner where the residents can get their breakfast and lunch, and it's not just a stale type of dining room. They have a movie theater. Because they are at the end of the Brandywine Airport, they have what they call a control tower where you can go and see the planes land and take off, and they're encouraging the pilots to say hi to the residents that are there. And that is a big selling point. It is decorated with airplanes and stuff like that. They also have a lounge where 2 days a week you can have drinks, you can get together with friends, and the family can come in. It's completely open and the residents enjoy that. They have a little store that has the best presentation I have ever seen. They also have a place for you if you want to bring your family and have a private dinner with them. The surroundings of the building are kept very nice."

"I went to look at The Quadrangle. I like the location because it's in a town. It's in a suburb, but it gives you the feeling of being in the country. It has a lot of open space. One of the outside trails is actually connected to the Haverford Reserve, which is very good for me because I like walking. It's good for my son who lives about 15 minutes away from the community. The price is a little bit high. I like the setup because it's really independent living. Most of the activities are managed or run by the residents. I like that because it gives us something to do. Another thing that I really like is that for the price you pay, they give you only one meal a day. I like to have my own kitchen and still do some cooking. The residents seem to have opportunities to go into the city, and they will take us there. They have four buildings, which are all connected. So in winter you don't have to go outside, and you could just use the indoor corridors. I like the place. The staff was very nice."

"My mom lived here during the pandemic. They did a great job of keeping her safe. They also got some new management in recently and the food, caregivers and activities have gotten really good. They were all pretty good before but now they are really good. I wish my mom could have lived there longer but I am happy to know she was happy at the end of her life. It's such a big change and so scary for everyone but the staff at Spring Mill really help to make everyone comfortable and feel like family."

"If you are looking for just the right place for your Mom and/or Dad—Rose Tree Place is where you want them to be! It’s a challenging time when sons/daughters/parents have to come together and “make the decision” that it’s time and your parent(s) can no longer live alone and need a little assistance. It’s a hard decision taking your loved one(s) from a home they know for so long, their personal property and most especially their independence. This was the case with my Dad. He has Parkinson’s and mobility issues and falls frequently. After 2 years, many visits to the ER, coaching to us by his Doctors we finally had to sit down, talk and make that decision. My husband and I started the process by researching and making appointments to tour several facilities in the Media/Rose Tree area. Upon arriving at Rose Tree Place we were greeted by Michael Rasmussen, Director. Michael was awesome! He couldn’t have been more professional, pleasant, helpful, explaining the facility, how things work and helping us get things in place. He said hello to every resident we passed and knew everyone by name. When we found Rose Tree Place we knew this was it! But to be fair we took my Dad to a few places my husband and I had selected and asked Dad to pick since this was going to be his new home. He picked Rose Tree Place! Rose Tree Place is a beautiful community situated in Media on lovely grounds with walking trails. Once inside you walk into a marble lobby with grand piano that overlooks an outdoor patio courtyard. The library just off the common room is stocked with books where residents can relax and take in a new read. The residents come together to eat in a dining room that looks like a restaurant and overlooks the courtyard. Residents order from a menu that changes daily and their food is delivered right to their table. When they’re done they can walk-about the place, get involved in one of the many activities going on or go back to their apartment. The resident’s quarters are nothing like I’ve ever seen. Most residents live in one bedroom apartments that have high ceilings, windows, full kitchen and lots of closet space. And residents can take their stuff from home with them to their new apartment. So while it’s not exactly ‘home’ it sort of looks a bit like home. And I have to mention the smell—the air is so clean and fresh. The place is immaculate! Truly Rose Tree feels more like a quaint Bed & Breakfast then an assisted living facility. Most important to the “aesthetics” is how the residents are treated and cared for. Everyone knows everyone’s name. Residents are treated and cared for with the utmost respect. If you’re looking for an Assisted Living Facility in or around the Delaware County area—Rose Tree Place is a MUST see and THE place you’ll want your parents to be. "

"We chose Sunrise of Granite Run for my uncle because it's convenient and it seemed like it was in very good condition. The people are nice and he's getting excellent care there. He moved into assisted living last month. What we like best is that he's getting excellent care. The aides come as soon as they hear the buzzer, they come and take care of him right away. They have really good security so it's hard to get in sometimes. You have to ring the bell and wait for somebody to answer the door. When you come in, you have to sign in and they have the same questions every time. It's good security. He likes the food, just once in a while, there are things that he complains a little bit about like if they didn't have exactly what he wanted. He's a little fuzzy like that. They have a lot of activities but he doesn't seem to want to participate in many of them. They have activities almost every day but he most likely just wants to watch television. The dining rooms are nice. They have a large screen TV and a viewing room. He can sit there and watch. They also have a wraparound porch the residents can sit out on."

"I visited this facility and thought that it was very clean and the staff was very courteous. From the Secretary to the Nurses, I felt very welcomed each time that I came there. They were very helpful on my first visit with helping me find the room that my Aunt was in. I liked that this facility was organized and the room was very easy to get to. My Aunt had no complaints about her long term stay at the facility. She felt very comfortable and at ease with the staff and the other patients. They had activities for the patients to participate in during their stay. The food was made very well in the kitchen and the nutritionist was supportive. I came here at least once a week to visit her while she was at the Sunrise Assisted Living Center and I have no complaints of this great place. "

"Sunrise of Westtown was very good and I enjoyed the tour. It was a nice place. I saw a specific room that I thought would be perfect for my uncle. The rooms were nice, spacious and clean. I like the fact that it is only a couple of floors. It is more of a home experience as opposed to a hotel-looking place. It isn't enormous with tons of people, which I like, too. The staff members were very nice, very helpful and pleasant. Like I said, I enjoyed the experience. I like the fact that it feels more like a home as opposed to an apartment building or a hotel. There are so many people that I think would enjoy that as opposed to feeling they're living in a hotel somewhere. They have a seating area in each of the hallways."

"Brandywine Assisted Living seemed very nice and caring. I spoke with some of the people that live there and they're very happy there. The accommodations are wonderful. The food is absolutely delicious. We've eaten there a couple of times. It's marvelous. My mom is in a 2-bedroom apartment. It could be a little bigger, but it's not major. There's a whole activity calendar of all kinds of activities. They have bingo, a beauty salon, and they're having a Valentine's party. I know they have an exercise class because my mom has been in that. Of all that I've seen, I think this is one of the nicest. "

"I toured looking for a community for my uncle and think I've found the perfect fit! The salesperson, Helene, could not have more understanding and caring about my needs. The staff interacted so well with the residents and the rooms were very attractive. "

"Pinnacle at Plymouth Meeting is a brand-new building. I still can smell how new the place is. Everything is new. It feels like you're at a hotel or a resort. It feels like a new apartment complex. The lady who guided us on the tour was great. It was just awesome. We checked one-bedroom-one-bath, and it was a pretty good size. The place itself is located a little too close to the highway, but it is nice, clean, and organized. For activities, the staff showed me the painting class and the TV room or theater. It is well-planned."

"We looked at Eagleview Landing. That's the place I selected. From the moment I walked in, you could tell the people that work there love their job. I observed them interacting before I met the director, they were happy, and they were joking around. You could tell by that that it was a good place, and I like that. It's a newer facility and it's beautiful. The director, Michelle, that helped me was top-notch. She knew her staff, she was great to work with, and I got so many details from her. She was amazing. It was just gorgeous there. The rooms were brand new. They were spacious, clean, and bright, and there were big windows in every room. The physical therapy rooms and weight rooms were brand new and state-of-the- art. I saw two dining halls, and they were gourmet restaurants, and it was gourmet food. They have a bar area, which is nice, too. Outside, they have courtyards, which I like because they have different levels of gardening that someone could do. Like if they couldn't kneel and garden, they have waist-high gardens so you could plant flowers or vegetable plants. They have lots of outdoor activities. They have comfortable chairs there. It's like being at a resort. The list of activities looks so much fun. I met a lot of the different staff that would be working with my father, and they were amazing. "

"Symphony Square had very limited outdoor space, and the place was not that attractive. It was something about the building itself, that's why I was not impressed. It was located in a residential area just off the main road. There were no outside spaces for the residents to go out to except the small paved area next to the road. The rest of the building seemed all right. Some residents were out of their rooms but they didn't seem to be engaging with each other or with anything."
