"My mother is going to Friends Home in Kennett. The director was very nice. They had a nice front porch. The staff during the tour seemed very upbeat and knew a lot about Kennett Square. They have little outings from time to time. They have a beauty parlor. When we walked around, we only saw one other person there. Then my mom went for a luncheon at a later date. She said the people were friendly enough. The whole place needs updating. It's an old building. They just put new elevators in. The dining area was kind of old. The facility looked pretty clean. I'm kind of surprised my mom chose this place, but she is just going to go for a month and try it out. I wouldn't choose it for myself. Her room is just a simple one little room with a bathroom and it has no kitchenette, refrigerator, or microwave, nothing like that."

"We visited Ivy Creek Gracious Retirement Living, it was a nice place. Everything is there, the activities, and all the meals are included. The one thing my parents wouldn't like is that they had to be in the dining room for all the meals, they'd want their meals in their apartment. So that was the only drawback. The room had a refrigerator and a little kitchen, but the price was too high for them. That was the main issue. In terms of activities, they had different things like a men's club and a women's club. The dining room looked very nice, and they decorate for different holidays and different occasions. They have a manager 24-7, and in case of emergency they'd go into the residence and there's always someone there, so that was nice. All the apartments are on the upper level where they are, depending on who took stuff in, and that was nice. It looked like a nice place, if you have a car you could park there, it's easy to access for handicapped. There's an elevator and everything's accessible for older people."

"It seemed very nice. Actually, I liked that one better than the other place we visited. They did show us the rooms, and it was very clean. I didn’t deal with too many of the staff people. They all seemed to be nice, and doing their job. "

"I went to Keystone Villa at Douglassville. I go there once or twice a week to see a lot of people because I live by Walmart, and if they need anything, I take it to them. The staff is wonderful. They do anything for you. They show you around and they have an activity paper up saying what they're going to be doing for the day. If the people need to go out of the building, they have to sign a screen that you take them out and bring them back in. They secure the building. They have a little area for the kitchen and a little space for a table, and then it's all open. Then there's the living room, and then off to the left, they have like a one-bedroom room that they could put their stuff in and a nice-sized bathroom with a walk-in shower and big bay windows. They do have a wide variety of food. They have a salad bar with fruit and vegetables and a big area to get drinks. They have two parakeets that sit there and talk to you while you eat. They're in a cage, kept, and they can't get any germs anywhere. It's the second floor that has a gym and the other end has a salon. Then they have a room where you could sit and do puzzles, play cards, and watch TV. It's all beautiful."

"We toured the Wesley Enhanced Living Main Line, and the residents were all very friendly and very involved in their activities of the day. They offered me lunch so I could sample the food. The apartments were all lovely and large. They were not the most expensive. They are cheaper than the other facilities. Wesley Enhanced Living Main Line is my number one choice. I'm hoping to get in there. It's nestled next to a golf course. It must be incredibly lovely during the summer. The staff was very nice. Everywhere we went, someone was cleaning. We went into people's apartments because they didn't have anything open at the moment, and they said, "Oh, I love living here. It's wonderful. Look at the view I have." I liked it, and it felt like home."

"Because I wanted to just go away for a week or so, I inquired about Forwood Manor. Everything there seemed very pleasant. However, once I've heard the details of respite care and if I qualify, I didn't get into any real details about the whole facility. The place was very clean and everything seemed nice. The one staff that I met was very friendly. I didn't see any activities though. "

"The rooms were small in Ivy Gables. However, it was decorated beautifully and clean. I didn’t see a lot of interactions; I only saw six people, and they looked like they had memory issues. They have a comprehensive program for medication and care, but the price is a little high. The dining area was very nice and looked dignified and classy. "

"The Quadrangle was lovely. I was impressed with their ample parking for residents and visitors, which was not true at some of the other places we visited. The person who escorted us around was very knowledgeable. We were quite impressed, but I probably won’t consider it because of the distance. "

"I lived at Ingleside Homes, Inc. for two years. I had many friends there. I liked it because they had many activities, and the people were very nice and friendly. I was in a studio, so it was on the smaller side, but they had various room sizes available. The dining room was extremely nice. The food was gourmet and delicious, and they served three meals a day. I couldn’t give them five stars because they had bedbugs. That’s really negative. They were working on it, but still, they did exist. "

"The staff seems nice and pleasant, and I feel that it is the right location and right facility for my uncle. We've tried the food and it was great! My uncle's room is fine and he's happy when he moved in. "

"The Heritage of Green Hills was so active. It was Halloween and they were having a Halloween party. They were really busy. It's a busy place. But you have to buy into that, and I didn't want to do that. It was nice though. The rooms were very clean and very neat. The size of the room was perfect. They had a buffet for dining, but I don't know if it's always a buffet. They have a huge indoor pool and a beauty salon. They have everything there, and the place is huge."

"We visited Walnut Woods. It's a very friendly and beautiful place. It?s really everything I wanted. There are community rooms. It's very home-like to me. Another thing that really impressed me was the food. It was wonderful, and I like the fact that it was served, not buffet type. Living in that facility is like you are in a resort. The apartments are lovely. They even have a chair outside the door and a table. "

"Pinnacle at Plymouth Meeting was very similar to the other place. I like it. The lady that toured us was very knowledgeable and very patient. She knew her stuff. She showed us a bunch of different options. She did great. The facilities were fine. However, my mom didn't see many people walking around. They had a movie theater, a hair salon place, and a gym you could use to work out. They had a large room that had a kitchen and a big table. So if you wanted to have like a Sunday dinner or something with your family, you could book that room for the day and have dinner for 10 or 15 people like a birthday party or something, which I thought was nice. They're nice facilities. We checked out a couple of rooms and they were large, they had good views, and they were clean. Everybody there was very friendly."
