We picked Russellville Park for my sister because she is in a wheelchair and all the other places we toured had a four-inch lip for the shower. So, she couldn't roll in. Russellville Park has a roll-in shower. The staff is great. They've all been friendly. They have game nights, movie nights, bingo, and cookies out on the counter for the afternoon. So people can drop by and pick up a cookie. They have a hair salon, too.

My mom is a resident of Russellville Park. The food was terrible, and the apartment itself was very far away from the dining area. You had to walk a significant distance to the dining room. The facility is okay.

Having lived at Russellville Park Independent Living for approx 1.5 years, I have found that very little of what I was promised was actually true. Food is poor and costly. Not interested in trips to casinos or shopping. Activities are just card games. Place looks nice but that is about all. Residents are occasionally friendly, but only at dinner. Most of the time, people spend their days in their rooms watching TV. There was more value when I first moved in, but many things have been cut back. Profit is very big with this group. Staff changes frequently. Think very carefully before coming here.

I have experienced and seen firsthand the extreme differences in what “assisted living” means to those paying for extra help and those who are suppose to be giving the help. Russellville has no problem providing pretty brochures with lots of promised services that they assure you will be available to you for an additional amount on top of your monthly rent. This amount starts at a high price and goes up from there. I have found they do not do much of anything as far as assisting you. They come in and are out the door often in under 3 mins. They don’t keep to your set schedule and always cut corners with whatever task they are doing. Examples: Coming to give you your meds. In the door-handing you a small paper cup with pills then leaving. No water so you can take them. No waiting to ensure you got them down. No going over what pills are in the cup. No conversation. Then you find a pill or two on your kitchen floor right under the cabinet they get your meds out of. Once a week coming in to clean but, not actually cleaning. Reusing the dirty pad on the bottom of your swiffer mop because they didn’t throw it out from last time and put a new one on - even tho you have boxes of them from Costco there to use. Making up your bed but not changing the sheets. So it looks nice but when you pull back the covers you find dirty sheets. Taking your laundry to wash and returning it unfolded. It goes on and on. I have seen friends of mine sit in their own filth for up to 8 hrs before they come to help them. They do not respond to your cries for help quickly. When you fall be prepared to stay on the floor for a very long time and know you will need to call over and over to ask for help. There is no one to complain to because they don’t care. It’s not their job - they flat out dismiss you - there is NO ACCOUNTABILITY with these people. They are great salesmen. Plz DO NOT trust them with the care of you or your loved one. They only want your money. Stay in independent living it’s fine but DO NOT move over to the East building. It’s a lie. They do not do what they are supposed to do. They do not advocate for you. They do not ensure your wellbeing or safety. You become invisible. They will take more money from you then not do their job. They will say you need more help and step you up a price level and still not do there job. It just keeps going. I have seen them force or work on families to convince them their loved one needs memory care when that’s not the case. This always happens if you complain to much or demand better care. Just because someone can’t make their own bed or needs help showering does not mean their mind is not there. It’s a physical limitation not a deficiency in mind. There is a difference unfortunately Russellville does not seem that way because if they did, they would do their job and people wouldn’t be forced to go into memory care they don’t need it. And once you go in, you never ever come out!

My mom will be moving into Russellville Park. We chose it because it felt like it had a very youthful feeling to it. It felt a little more luxurious than some of the other places we visited. The upkeep looks good so far, and no complaints. The dining area looks good. They have a gym, a soaking pool, a salon on-site, and transportation. They have a lot of common spaces and standard activities.

I moved in to Russellville Park a month ago. I like the apartment layout. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. The apartment is small, a lot smaller than the house that I was living in for 34 years, and I am still adjusting. The food is pretty good. They have activities but is limited because of the virus. It cost quite a bit, but it has lots of ammenities so that kind of make up for it. I like the location better than the other ones I have seen. The apartment layout is also better and is bigger in terms of square footage.

Russellville Park would be our #1 choice. It had so many accommodations. The assisted and independent living each had their own restaurant. My friend's going to be 85 and it was overwhelming because it was almost too big. The rooms were very accommodating, very clean, and a good size. They were just what he was looking for. The staff was very good. The residents raved about how happy they were there and just enjoyed all the accommodations. They had great workout rooms, so there were lots of exercises.

Russellville Park is expensive, but very nice. The staff was very helpful. The dining area was nice and had plenty of room. They have a bakery, theater, workout room, and a bar. It's the place to go if you can afford it.

Russellville Park was a beautiful place. It was very nice. The interior was modern, cozy, and clean; however, it was just too expensive for us, and they didn't have any availability. The person who took us around was great. She was kind, understanding, and supportive. The staff members were doing some kind of interactive quiz with the residents. Russellville Park is actually where I saw the most interactions with the residents. It's a great community, but it was very expensive.

I'm presently living at Russellville Park. It's been outstanding. Everything here is the best. Their menu is outstanding. You can order just like you're in a restaurant and you can get anything you want. They do regular field trips and outings three times a week, and there's a veterans club, a music club, and a writing club. They serve lunch and dinner. The staff is outstanding. You do your own laundry.

Russellville Park was nice, but it was so huge. I thought it's located in a bad neighborhood because it's right off of 102nd, and it's a bad corner by the Max train. We could have bought a house where my mom could have her own property attached for $4,300 a month. We saw some of the menus, and we walked around the property. It was a nice place. I would give it a 5 rating, but for the whole overall package, I would give it a 1. For the price, where it's located, the size of place, for people in an assisted living, and the distance between one thing to the next to walk if you're handicapped or on a wheelchair are a lot.

I have been a resident at Russellville Park for only eight months, but felt compelled to write a review. I live in a one bedroom apartment with a full kitchen. My apartment has a large outdoor patio that overlooks a lovely garden area that has a welcoming and relaxing water feature. Even though the Max Station is across the street I never hear anything from inside my apartment. There are several restaurants, a coffee shop with fresh bakery items each day. The food is scrumptious. We can order off a menu, or partake in the daily special. I love the staff and most of the staff know you by name. We are allowed to have pets and I was relieved since I have a dashhound who think she is large and in charge! Ha. I visited several assisted living places in Portland and was so impressed that I reserved an apartment that day. There are just too many great things to mention them all. If you or your parents need a new home come join us and you will see the difference between renting an apartment or going home.

I looked at Russelville Park, and I didn’t like it because it was way too big. The people were nice, but it’s a huge complex, and my husband would get lost. The leasing agent was really very nice. The property looked like a big compound to me. There was no outside garden or things like that, they’ve got 2 buildings that are huge, and their restaurants were spread apart. It’s a huge facility. They have 187 units, and there’s nothing on the outside of it. It doesn’t have any appeal to me. They have a lot of activities, and they’ve got 2 or 3 buses to go to all different kinds of places, and they’ve got movies, Bingo, arts and crafts, and woodshop things.

I like the arrangement of the rooms at Russellville. The people that work there were very friendly and nice. The building was well taken care of and a good spot even though it’s not the best neighborhood in Portland, but right around there was pretty good.

The woman who gave us a tour at Russellville Park was fantastic. She was a walking encyclopedia and amazing. Mom did not like Russellville Park. For her, it was too big. You have to walk across the street to get to some of the facilities that she would be using. She has macular degeneration, so she doesn’t see well. That was too bad because there were two things we really like about this one: it had a pool and an in-house bank, which was good. I would still give it a 4; I think that it would work for people who don’t have sight issues.

Russellville Park was a full-service community with many activities and residents aged in the 80s. It is a very complete community for a senior citizen who's not as active as I am. They have several dining facilities that you can choose. It was very self-contained, and everything you needed was in one stop. It was the best.

Russelville Park was very nice. We liked their courtyard, the people on-staff were very knowledgeable, and everything that we were looking for, they had, like exercise facilities and restaurants, of which there were two serving cafeteria-style.

I visited Russellville Park. It was a fine, good experience. The staff and rooms were good. It was all nice. They had three differrent dining areas and let you choose where you want to eat, which impressed me. They give you a $300 allowance to eat and choose whatever you want for each meal.

I visited Russellville Park with my daughter. We did the tour, and saw the rooms; which were very nice, and very open. We saw the residents watching TV, and eating at the dining room; which looked clean and nice. The staff looked efficient. The sales manager was very helpful, and very friendly. I didn’t see any activities going on.

Russellville had two restaurants with excellent, healthy food. I had a healthy lunch in the smaller restaurant and a healthy dinner in the larger restaurant. They had one that was set-up more like a diner, which was very nice. It was a little quieter because it was a Saturday, and I think they had an outing that people signed up for. They have similar things as other places I visited, like a gym, a community room, and a library. They also had a place where you can get fruit juice, coffee, or something to drink, which another other place had, too, but this one was nicer. The rooms were very nice. I had a beautiful suite to myself, and their apartments were very nicely set up. Out of the three places I saw, Russellville would have been my choice. The staff was very nice; I felt they were real and true. I liked the fact that they had two dining areas and the food was really good, and it was easy to go from one building to the other. It was the easiest and most efficient way to get to Downtown.

I chose it for the place, I love it for the people. I selected this handsome facility for my husband because it includes a gym, salon, cafe and restaurant, yet is not over-the-top expensive. But the best feature has turned out to be an amazing staff. Working in Memory Care requires special talents, and the managers, nurses, aides, housekeepers, and maintenance staff at Russellville all show skillful care and heartwarming concern for residents and their families. Bonus: Russellville is a stop on the light rail (MAX) line, so I - and my husband's guests - don't have to drive in rush hour traffic. Five stars, absolutely.

My mother has chosen Russellville Park for herself. Carrie -- who walked us through the community -- was very nice. My mother is now on a waiting list for a two bedroom apartment. The ones that we saw were very good with a full kitchen. The room we toured had a complete circle lock around so that you could close the bathroom from the bedroom. The guests could just then go in the bathroom from the other way. It also had a huge walk-in closet and pantry. We had also walked through their dining room, and it was wonderful. They had bus tours, bridges, swimming, and exercise classes as part of their activities. They just had a number of things, and my mother really liked the place.

We moved our mom into Russellville last Nov after an extensive analysis of several assisted living facilities. We are very satisfied with our decision. As expected, it has not been an easy transition from the family home of 55 yrs. However, the Russellville staff helped my shy mom adjust to her new environment with their attentive, respectful and responsive care. We have since added nursing services and have been happy with her care. The staff always has a smile for mom and acknowledge her by her first name. They will frequently take the time for a short conversation, keeping a watchful eye for ways they can make her day easier and more enjoyable. The food is good and when you have three meals a day in the same dining room, the quality of the meals is important. So is the cheerfulness of the dining staff. A friend of mom's moved from another independent living facility to Russellville because of the dining room's reputation. I recommend you put Russellville on your short list. The marketing staff will provide you with all the info you need to assess their facilities. I also suggest you talk with the staff and residents. You will find, as my mother has, that even though you can no longer live in the family home, Russellville can become your new home where you are treated like family.

Russelville court apartments are a disappointment to say the least. The building has been covered with plastic for months on end ( people are depressed with no remedy seen)...no one can give you an answer to anything they just refer you until you give up. The housekeepers are also little spies documenting anything and everything about your living habits...I could go on but if you love your loved one go some place else.

Dear Silverhorse13@aol.com, Thank you for taking the time to write your review about Russellville Park. We take opinions seriously and I am sorry that yours is a negative one. We pride ourselves at addressing resident and family member concerns directly and with honesty. You are correct that the building has undergone a lengthy restoration project which has required it to be wrapped in plastic and scaffolding for many months. I truly understand the inconvenience that this is to people living in the community. However, the repairs were necessary to maintain the integrity of the building. We simply had no choice. We have not taken the impact that this situation has on residents lightly. We started by adding a Project Assistant whose full time responsibilities during the project is to work with residents and make sure that they are as comfortable as possible on a daily basis. In addition, we have added excursions and trips outside the building to increase residents ability to get out of the community while the project has been going on. We increased our activities programming and are hosting ongoing events with the construction management and residents so they can explain progress. The end is in sight. Part of the scaffolding has come down and the remainder will be down within a couple of months. We welcome you to speak to our General Manager, Meg Davidson, at anytime. Just ask to speak to her at the front desk. She would be happy to communicate with you about the progress and challenges of this project. Our goal is to make a difficult situation as manageable as possible. We are also happy to discuss your additional concerns as well. Please feel free to contact me also if you would like to discuss your concerns. We truly do want to do the right thing. Thanks for writing. Sincerely, Michael Juno-Sturm | Operations Director Mjuno-sturm@leisurecare.com

I remember visiting Russellville. The environment was pleasant, but I didn’t like the neighborhood. It was not in a very upgraded neighborhood and it didn’t feel warm. There were no trees, no vegetation, and no flowers. It was close to good transportation, but I wasn’t highly impressed.

They have provided an excellent high degree of care and service for my wife the past 2 years. The training of staff I'm sure is the most demanding to be able to provide the best service for it's residents..they have been able to do this..
